- Welcome to a guide to balletcore & its subcategories (& some similar aesthetics)~ In this video, I’ll be explaining the definition of balletcore and discussing its history, key elements, inspiration, fashion, similar aesthetics and subcategories, as well as where you can shop for clothes for this aesthetic. I hope this video was helpful to you, and let me know what aesthetic you'd like a video on next! :)
➢notes:
-ballet actually emerged in the 1500s but was popularized/made more accessible in the 1930s, thank you for a commenter for correcting that error for me!
- I forgot to talk about makeup in the video, so let me give a brief explanation here:
keep the makeup looks overall on the lighter side, nothing too drastic or sparkly (unless you're going for the more performative side of balletcore, in which case feel free to experiment more and you can for example match your eyeshadow tones to your outfits)
blush: pink for paler skin tones and brown blush for darker tones
eye shadow: 3 shades should be enough. White, beige, and brown tend to the most common.
Mascara: waterproof, minimal amounts (you can add in some subtle eyeliner if you wish)

a guide to balletcore balletcore balletcore fashion ballet aesthetic what is balletcore coquette where to buy balletcore Хобби
im a ballerina and i think it was rlly smart for you to add the harmful history. i also love the inclusivity of your video!
Oh yes, absolutely (as I should)! It’s very scary just how stressful and unsafe the ballet environment can be and I would expand on it more if it weren’t potentially triggering :/ but I really hope this aesthetic adoring ballet will keep staying inclusive and work hard to highlight the ongoing issues and to go against them.❤️
2:15 did you say 1930s?? i love this vid but i just wanted to point out this miscommunication in the kindest way possible!! ballet actually began around the 15th century. i think i’m probably misunderstanding the context of the information though. :)
Ah you’re absolutely correct! My bad, it became *more popular worldwide in the 1930s! Haha thanks for catching that error, I appreciate it :)
thank you for making this video :) i think this style is so sweet and it looks good on literally everyone! my favourite is the darker/gothic ballet vibe, it looks very vampiric imo
You’re so welcome! 💕 The great thing about this style is that you can incorporate so many subtle beautiful elements from it into outfits and make so many beautiful new looks! And yes, darker/gothic balletcore is so cool, I’m sure many people will be dressing as the Black Swan for Halloween 😊
Love this video💗🩰 enjoyed watching it so informational
Thank you so much for your kind comment! 💗🩰
i always love how your videos are done and you're always so good about your information!
Thank you so much! 💜 Ah yes, the silky dress is a "frolic through the fields" type of dress, I love it so much! :)

Love the video i always liked ballet since im named after Odette from the swan lake. Could you do a guide to weirdcore next?
I LOVE this video! You're inspiring me to want to record a video like this on my own favorite subjects, do you mind if I ask what kind of mic you're using? or camera if you're recording the voiceover through that? thank you!! I think I might see one linked in your downbar but right now it says not available, so, if you recommend that company or similar mics anyway, I'd love to know! and, what is your editing software if you dont mind my asking? I'd really love to edit like this too :)
Hi, for the voiceover mic I use audio technica at2020 :) and I use adobe apps for all of my post-production, so usually a mix of premiere pro and after effects.
I’m a Muslim but not a hijabi and I really appreciated you including hijabi women ❤
Thank you! I try my best to be inclusive whenever I can 💗
I love iiit
Thank youuu! 💕💕💕

@@jemi_ I hope u love them as much as I do!
sorry about the history, but ballet goes way back then the 1930s
Hi! Yes, I corrected this in my description after someone else pointed that out. It was rather popularized around the 1930s.
