Hey Scott Cecille & Liam...Really have enjoyed reviewing many of your videos tonight. This one "caught my eye" as I design and build traditional and natural architecture in many of the folk styles with a keen focus on Asian styles...
For what it's worth those costs for the "Kubo" are great if sold here in the States, but I think for the Philippians it was very high by 1/3 to 1/2. If serious about getting one for your homestead in the country, I would offer that a "local price" from a traditional builder may be a lot less and perhaps better built as these in this video use metal fasteners for a lot of their structural integrity rather than true traditional modalities for in true Bahay Kubo of the Philipian islands...
I would also suggest staying well away from concrete for several reasons, but own that I"'m only and natural and sustainable builder so do not use modern OPC concrete in any of my work here in the US or other projects I consult on...
I've been thinking for a few years now of retiring in the Philippines because of the culture, climate, and my past experiences with it (I'm a Vet.) Looking forward to reviewing more of your video. If you have questions about traditional Philipian architecture or homesteading practices on your small farm, please do reach out! I look forward to learning more from you about living in the Philippines and possibly moving there. Hope you do a video about your Farm sometime soon! Thanks for sharing your experiences...
Glad you are enjoying more videos! Thanks for the information.
Subterranean termites is common in Philippines, just incase your planning to buy make sure each post must be treated with anti termites,we used used engine oil and dip it each stand post😊
I have seen that oil does work very well.
Hi Scott Cecille & Liam wow those kubos are treated for termites? I would have been in paradise if my parents put one in our backyard in the states ! I would have had the ultimate fort!
I would have loved that as a kid also!
...it,s better to go to San Carlos, Pangasinan where they manufactured those Bahay Kubo...there's a 2Bed Room that u you can put Air Conditioner, the inside have paneling, also have a cabinets, the ouside is Bamboo and treated for termites, free delivery, cost about $ 3,000.00...
We will probably make the trip up there one day before buying.
Small block house about the same price.
Get the one with the metal roof and you can use it to collect water
Thats a good idea!
Come and meet my family we are in Beautiful San Remigio Cebo where the beaches are very good.
Thanks for the invitation!
@@Marker44 If you decide to visit I have info and maps on how to find us.
i've actually seen these with a better sealed off bedroom with a window unit
Yes I have seen kubos like this also. Many options available and customization.
Try to visit in Pangasinan maybe it's much cheaper and free delivery ,o saw 2bedroom cost 115k ALAMINOS PANGASINAN that's where they building Bahay Kubo
Yes we thought about that as well. Wasnt sure if they would deliver this far but worth checking into.
The foreigner price is definitely a thing in the Philippines.
After buying groceries and paying mortgages these homes look pretty nice!
I hear you on that!
Not a bad option while you build and to repurpose for the caretaker
All you'll need after that is a giant mosquito net, lol. I do like those houses though.
I wonder about that also
How about your CR and if ever you'll buy one maybe its safer if you'll let them put net all around especially on the floor to protect snakes coming in because your farm i guess is a snake habitat. Just my concern.
We dont have any sign of snakes in our property thus far. I dont believe it will be an issue.
Pinaghati-hati ng mga Oligarch ang lupain ng mga Caviteno. Siguradong maraming mamamayan ng Cavite ang ma didsplace dahil sa mahal ng bilihin at lup aat bahay.
Sorry to hear that
