Bacolod is a nice city, it's livable but the problem is the trash.. the trash is everywhere especially on SM. I would choose silay tbh

Yeah, Bacolod on my list too. I'm also going to be exploring the Cebu Providence. Something within 2 hours of Cebu City. A friend has mentioned Moalboal and Olsob. RUclipsr Marcos lives in the northern part of the providence.
Been to both of them and my most memorable experiences was in both of them, truly enjoyed my time there

Enjoyed tasty bibingka there in Bacolod ...💝 the beautiful RUINS is about 10 mins. drive. Around 45 mins drive is the awesome Campuestohan Highland Resort, Sitio Campuestohan Barangay, Talisay City surrounded by hills and valleys - a nice place to vlog...💖 we passed by here on our way to Dumaguete over 5 yrs ago, they used to have a short zip line etc..ENJOY!
@EvSerenade. Nice recommendations…they did tour the Ruins & other sites in prior Bacolod visits/vlogs. I remember Michael has said he is not much of a sweet tooth, but I requested in the past a review & visit to V&W’s (Victoria & Williams) eatery in Bacolod. I saw another vlogger, a Filipino chef!, talk about it but I would enjoy seeing/hearing Michael’s tour. I had wanted Bianca’s opinion too as the place is famous for its ensaymada …🥺 But I’m not sure if /when she will return there. I think Michael will visit Bacolod frequently, if he remains in area. Michael probably all ready left Bacolod, but just a suggestion to tuck away for next time perhaps….
I have no less than three filipina friends here in Maine who are from Bacolod area. They tell me there are white sand beaches if you know where to look.

I spent last Christmas in Bacolod and had a great time. I never take taxis. Just Grab (like uber in the U.S.).
hey Mike ! cool vid. Surprised still no power, but it is what it is. Sounds like you're exploring the same SRRV that I plan to pursue. One advantage is you get Philhealth, which gets you in the door if something happens. I look forward to the next video.
I look into all the visa available in the country but I'm still two years away from the age to qualify for Srrv
Just stay on tourist and save for SRRV and get the papers you need to process in 2 years.

EDIT: yeah I forgot about that charity work. So maybe they can authorize you to stay while you help them out, then perhaps an SRRV in a couple years
@@tryscience I'm working with a charity this year documenting when they go with the military into the hard to find places to find children with cleft pallets and giving them free surgery. Goal is to eradicate it countrywide in children by end of year.

Welcome to Bacolod! If it’s about malls, the Ayala malls is the new one built prepandemic, then SM mall, and Robinsons mall which is a bit older and is planning on the renovations this year…the local ones we have are Lopues which has 4-5 locations in Bacolod and gaisano has 3…the newly built which opened late 2023 is Landers which is located in upper east area(you’re gonna need a grab for this one since there are no jeepney passing there) and Lammart just opened before Christmas

Electric power rates are higher in Bacolod than in Iloilo.

The ferry terminal in bacolod is near SM, you can just walk and take taxi or jeepney

It has a generator and a deep well, so you always have electricity and water.

Careful in Bacolod, there are plenty of "colorum" taxicabs there from the time you step at bredco. There was this turko-looking person in office attire who pleaded to take his colorum car as it was already dark and he still had no passenger to drive for. I answered that my family member was fetching me. And crossing the street or driving your car, a superfast car can suddenly swerve to cut you beside your driver's seat. This happen to us several times while traveling on the streets in the city.

I LOVE your channel because of your commentary. Bianca is nice to look at but honestly (and I follow her too she is great) But your content is better as far as information and substance. I will be moving to the Philippines in about a year and a half. I have a Filipina girlfriend and she wants to move to Boracay But I want to live in Iloilo. I have Been following you and Bianca since you got in the Philippines. Can you give me advice for how to convince her that Iloilo is a better place to live than Boracay. I know that Boracay is a tourist spot and a fun place to live but is it better than Iloilo in the long run?
Boracay is for a temporary vacation but Iloilo is HOME ❤

I absolutely detest taxi drivers who take advantage of all passengers. What they do not understand is that they operate due to a government franchise which can be revoked if they commit these violations.

If you travel to Davao City 🌆 plenty to see you can go to Panabo city, Tagum city, Mati city, Digos city, Bukidnun province, Cotabato province, Agusan province, Surigao province you only travel by land.

Fwiw, I live in Bacolod and pay p12 per kw of electricity. Last month I paid ~p6k and run split aircon 24/7.
In fairness the animals looks real. Compare to other resorts the elephants doesn’t looks like an elephant at all
