The woman he pulled from the audience is actress dancer Melissa Hurley Bowies girlfriend 87-90. What a showman!

Sad that I know what I do now. I love Bowie's music but I see right through him today. I saw this concert LIVE back in the '80s and it ROCKED --- of course. He's still made some of the best tunes I'll ever hear in my lifetime, I just can't watch him anymore. 😢

This sounds so much better than the album version, has such a band feel, no programmed drums.

I saw him in Charlotte, NC about that same time and I too, gained a whole new respect for David Bowie. I cried when he descended from the ceiling and lowered himself down the spider legs. It was very dramatic, very fun and one of the best live performances I ever experienced!

@@craiglewis6145 I lived five minutes walk from one of the gigs. Weird having lunch and then literally walking down the street to go and see Bowie. Only went as I am a fan of Frampton but I enjoyed it and so pleased that I went.

I was lucky to see him on his Reality tour. Lately, I've been buying all the albums I didn't have prior. Reality was one of them. Such a great rock n roll album. One of his best from his later years. I'm so happy I got to see him.

I'm a Detroit guy. Bowie morphed into his Thin White Duke persona and want to play smaller venues for longer runs. He played 7 nights in a row in Detroit, I was only there for 6.

This is an Iggy Pop song. As David Bowie said, one of his best. David arranged it for the stage and sang it brilliantly. Iggy Pop does not have these high-lows variations to his voice, he's more of a rock punk interpreter.

Victor Manoela! My favorite of Bowie's dancers! Can't describe his style. No definition to describe him. He's just everything! When Bowie first spotted him he said: "That's the one! I want him on my stage." And the rest is history... Victor is the one with the ponytail. He's not a woman as people assume. He's just Victor. ❤️ Love the "signing " he and Bowie do in "Absolute Beginners."
"Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!"
( Just a cool little thing Bowie shouted from somewhere offstage. 😁)

The reason for David Bowie's character not being able to touch the crowd and being pulled by his handlers, aka dancers is commentary on the rock n roll life, and how rock artist and artist's in general aren't allowed to associate with the real world, or the plebians, because it would look bad for their image. They have to be perceived as roll n roll stars, later on in the concert and within the songs they speak about this concept.
The beginning to Absolute Beginners of this very live show, he's having a discussion with his dancers , which represents his inner circle pseudo "handlers" In which they proclaim " We can't have rock stars cross breeding with normal people!"
This entire show is based on the realities of hollywood, American way of life, rock n roll, image, and David's multi-layered process and commentary of whats going on in day to day life when it comes to love, where you come from, where youre going.
Its like a masterclass in theater, music, and journalism hitting you in 50000 mph in the face.
