You are the best / My daughter’s car was stuck at a shopping center. Aftr an hour of frustration, this video was yhe key!!! Thanks for posting! Huge hug from Edinburg-TX
Thanks for the info I ended up just removing all the springs and pins then I was able to remove that piece from the key cylinder and everything works still need the key to start it because the switch the other steel part engages to activate that switch not exactly what the switch is but I left all that OEM
hey bro this is my first every comment did this ti 2002 astro van work perfect pulled out lock cylinder and replaced but your video was the only that helped good thing i use the same type floos picks. thank again bro.
You can use anything that fits in the hole that thing is just wedged shaped so it worked pretty good. You don’t have to move that spring much to get the ignition to turn
Yes I would think so. My key don’t have a chip in it. Just use your key fob to turn it off. You could probably disconnect the battery of you don’t have a key fob if your worry about it going off.
@@dhakkamistri you have to put a pin in the hole on top of the cylinder housing to get the new piece out. The method I showed is for an old one with a worn out spring or something Inside that failed. If you have a new key you won’t have this problem.
Did you ever get it figured out? Some times you have to mess with it a little it’s kinda hard to see in that hole in the bottom but you should see a spring like thing I guess lol. Your trying to push that up so the cylinder can turn. I hope this helps you

So you need to replace the ignition cylinder?
at some point yes, if this happens it's probably quite worn out and will keep repeating itself
Would it work if the alarm is on

Now my electronics don’t work and it makes a weird noise in P and N
You need to do a relearn procedure. It’s on RUclips when swapping cylinders.
Haha thanks budd
