It needs to be corrected that Omni-Mans Viltrumite stance does *not* lose to overheads. The specific Li Mei overhead has to have the same properties as Ashrah's F3, where it goes behind his back, because VS does lose to behind the back moves, jump ins and low, but not pure overheads. I have labbed this countless times with every troublesome overhead there is, such as Reiko's F2, Sub Zero's B2, Raidens B2, Johnnys F4, Johnnys 124, Johnnys 212, etc. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm shitting on your video because it's a great guide but Nolan mains *need* to know this.

I personally am a slow learner and need everything broken down fir me like you do, genhinely i felt so overwhelmed by the difference in mechanics since only other games i played where dbfz for 4 years and ggst for 2 months. One thing I find working is stance switch so Omni mans back is facing the player and you can’t really see the overhead coming, it surprisingly works lol
Highly enjoying him. Still an idiot baraka main but omni man feels great to fight as and against. Honestly there are some real easy ways to back him into a corner but at that same time, he is easy to also lose against. Truly a player vs player experience over a pay to win “this character is the best” experience
I've found when fighting him as shang tsung, that you need to bait Omni man into rushing you on block. You can basically block everything once you know you can. But omni man is fast and intimidating with bizarre screen control. And he is freaky fast. Your goal, at least it's winning for me, is controlling the neutral space and banking your opponent to spam omni mans moves. Once you know the combo strings, you can use your opponents rush down game against them. As goofy as well, walking or one stepping to block works very well against Omni man. Still training on fighting against him online. GL all, he's rough!
I gotta say, the combos involving his superman fly look pretty cool. No doubt that the Kameos shown in the vid would do well for him, since Sonya, Striker, Kung Lao, can help him force his way in safely, while the latter two can also help fill in his high/low mixup. Darius is also nice for getting big comboes off Omni-Man's full-screen punishes as we all saw in the video! ^^
Finally watching this after messing with him for a bit and i genuinely forgot that the clap special existed because i have too much fun just doing his basic bread and butter and other specials
Loving him so far! I discovered a 33% meterless kameo free kombo with him and I'm quite happy with myself for it cause I'm not great at fighting games lmao Out of interest, will you be covering gbvs? I'm excited for it, but I don't fully understand the concept of how to open enemies up without overhead low mixups in that game and moves that seem like good mixups are fully blockable from crouching so I'm just not sure how one would lose if they just block everything except jumps when crouching, so wondering if you'll have a few guides for that. Keep up the great stuff!!!
Another type of mixup would be mid vs throw where throws are high attacks that can be ducked and mids can't There's also plus frames and pressure and zoning and punishing to name a few
Omni-Man is my new main and I agree he makes playing neutral (or skipping neutral) a lot easier and fun. I have a hard time with NRS games coming DBFZ or SF
31:30 you can get a bit more damage with a one-bar combo that may be a bit easier. 12, ex viltrumite 4, 22, viltrumite 1, jump 212, airdash, 212, airdash 12 1+3. Hope that makes sense. Not used to this notation :-)
I looked trajectory of Invisible Rush during the combo; what causes the ground bounce is not that fact the Omni man is aerial, but that the opponent’s hit box is below his. Because the opponent is in fall animation so close to ground when Omniman does Invinsible Rush, he flies in a downward trajectory which causes the ground bounce.
Great Video! Omni-Man is so fun to fight with, his moves look so kool! And he has the Best Fatality in my opinion, so sick looking. By the by does anyone know if the Clap destroys Scorpions "Spear"?
30:40 First off, I wanna say thanks for showing me this Kombo! I actually found out on account that instead of using DASH, Stand 3, EX stance 1; you can actually just use Forward 3 without having to EX stance 1 afterwards. You end up getting 40% with no bar. Well technically 395.56. The key to landing that combo consistently is to delay the Down 1 and wait until you see the enamy past Omnimans big beefy chest then immediately Down 1. Its gonna take to time to learn but 40% no bar off a advancing mid combo start thats safe? I think ist work it !
I am early in the vid right now so idk if this has been mentioned but his bf2 isnt a full screen, but if you use it whilst youre fullscreen away from opponent it puts you at optimal/furthest disntance for his sweep so you can do that wiff into a sweep. (i am new to mk so sorry if this isnt helpfull and i probably used the wrong terminology)
When i backdash with omni then try to do f4, i always end up doing the superman thrust special move thing because of the input. I tried tweaking the the settings and chaing the special moves read time from long to medium to even short, and still same problem. Sometimes i wana mini back dash then f4 knee but that never works.
He's been a blast and I get why everything is so unsafe but I think he needs to have 1 get in option that isn't complete annihilation on block. Like stance 4 is basically useless, make it minus 8 or 9 and then it become usable, still punishable by jab but at least usuable. Cuz the problem i'm running into is in neutral I can basically only use stance 3 or teleport cancel to get in both of which are heavily punishable by anyone that knows the character. But i've started using striker just to mitigate the risks a little but he's unreliable sometimes so might try kano or sektor instead.
Is anyone else having so much difficulty with the air dash? Half the time the move doesn’t come out when I do the input and I can’t seem to get the timing down for the delay on most things
I don’t get it, I got the update and got everything that came with it except omni man and I have the premium addition that I paid extra $70 for, bringing it up until like 120 for the game. Not to mention I bought the Halloween fatalities and a bunch of skins. I want to know who the hell I can talk to or what can I do to try to fix this. Do I have to pay the thousand dragon crystals and buy Omni Man voice for me to get him? There’s so hard to come by I don’t want to spend them but I’m getting pissed I can’t play with him in anything, and I’ve tried everything

well that's the thing. stand 1 is a high, so they could easily crouch poke it back. However if omni man crouch pokes first he will always win, however if you know he will poke you can block and punish. Its a multi layered game off a block
At a high level Omni-Mans F2 overhead thats "Unsafe" and his F3 low are made safe with Kung Lao Kameo low hat. You can hold the hat, get in free and have it hit just after and his Overhead/Low mixup is safe AF and ut doesn't matter if its 30 frames startup since the startup animation is hardly noticable and lightning fast after start-up animation. His teleport moves from specials and even stance are all safe with low hat and his overhead drop teleport safe from UpBlock. I think he does have 50/50s with Kameo for example he has several HTBs that are full screen and can be timed for OH/Low to hit first. This is incredibly powerful mix. If you hit the hat at sane time as overhead you dont get ro Upblock but no HTB, if you hit low hat 3 frames before overhead they can't UpBlock since it takes like 7 or 10 frames to Upblock. You can also have it hot 3 frames after overhead dive and its safe even if they Upblock. Goro, Stryker also makes all his specials safe and his mixups. His weaknesses are: B11 duckable if crouch blocked 222 flawless block punishable 12 being vulnerable to Armor in its gap before the 2. But all of them are safe if you use low hat. His EX Vitramite Stance is punishable by sone overhead specials like Sibdel flip kick, lows and jump ins.. But he can mix you up eith Stance into instant F+R2 teleport that has super fast recovery.
Here's a question: Seeing as his air dash has a hitbox, is it possible to air dash lower to the ground and hit a standing/grounded opponent? If yes does it have any practical use or utility (what's the frame data)? And if no then i assume it's because you either can't air dash low enough to the ground or it's hitbox only works on aerial opponents.

When should I use stance 2 and when stance 4? Is stance the uppercut better in most situations for combos or is the teleport grab better for avoiding active frames because he gets behind the enemy? Also I would like to know what his general gameplan is
i use kung lao to set up setups with stance. usually i go low hat delay into stance teleport into 22 which forces an overhead low mixup. if they start jumping i use stance 4 to catch them out of the air. as for stance 2 i use that to end combos quickly (jumping 12 ~ stance2) if they're almost full meter and i want to guarantee damage.
@@tlaminator51 thanks, that sounds like a good tactic. After the 22, does it force the mix up because they are -3 and then you do like either f2 or f3?
@@CluelessMarvin I don't use those buttons usually. I delay the hat, teleport and then go 22 which the second hit is overhead. I go between releasing the hat early and late (If you release it late, it's easier to block but you keep your turn)
I’ve been practing the new optimal combo that gets 42% no meter. kung lao is tooo good just cause he makes forward 3 safe and full screen mixups with hat. PRO TIP: you can finish the 1,2 1+3 combo with the grab button!
the 212 air combos are all air tight regardless of gravity scaling, only issue is on some of the combos you can do it too early, so delaying it a split second can help
At ramked I was up against a Kitana main who would wait till u approached and did the same punishing string. So instead of playing his neutral I kept a distance and waited for him to make a mistake as I harassed him with Kung lao hat. In the end he yelled at me on the mic because he can't do anything at a distance and I ran out the clock. Told me to go kill myself. Good times.
Slight correction: ex stance dodges standing overheads but loses to jumping attacks, li mei’s overhead being one of them. Also command grabs catch him too iirc

I think the reason behind it for Li Mei and Ashrah is the game considers those overheads as airborne.

33 is decent but if you want to learn this combo u can get 37 no kameo no meter: b22 f4 22~db11 j212~(air dash) 12 1+3

When should I use stance 2 and when stance 4? Is stance the uppercut better in most situations for combos or is the teleport grab better for avoiding active frames because he gets behind the enemy?
Also I would like to know what his general gameplan is
i use kung lao to set up setups with stance. usually i go low hat delay into stance teleport into 22 which forces an overhead low mixup. if they start jumping i use stance 4 to catch them out of the air. as for stance 2 i use that to end combos quickly (jumping 12 ~ stance2) if they're almost full meter and i want to guarantee damage.
@@tlaminator51 thanks, that sounds like a good tactic. After the 22, does it force the mix up because they are -3 and then you do like either f2 or f3?
@@CluelessMarvin I don't use those buttons usually. I delay the hat, teleport and then go 22 which the second hit is overhead. I go between releasing the hat early and late (If you release it late, it's easier to block but you keep your turn)

I’ve been practing the new optimal combo that gets 42% no meter. kung lao is tooo good just cause he makes forward 3 safe and full screen mixups with hat. PRO TIP: you can finish the 1,2 1+3 combo with the grab button!

212 air dash giving me problems not enough gravity 🤦🏿♂️
the 212 air combos are all air tight regardless of gravity scaling, only issue is on some of the combos you can do it too early, so delaying it a split second can help

At ramked I was up against a Kitana main who would wait till u approached and did the same punishing string. So instead of playing his neutral I kept a distance and waited for him to make a mistake as I harassed him with Kung lao hat.
In the end he yelled at me on the mic because he can't do anything at a distance and I ran out the clock. Told me to go kill myself. Good times.
If you struggle with neutral, Im dead
Slight correction: ex stance dodges standing overheads but loses to jumping attacks, li mei’s overhead being one of them. Also command grabs catch him too iirc
