Brian has schizophrenia. I don’t believe he has dementia, but his brain has been messed up for years. I met him in 1985 and he had it then. He took way too many LSD trips in the 1960’s and it fried his brain. So sad. He was also abused by his father

I agree with you! It’s very sad that Brian lose Melinda and now having dementia. It’s crazy because I worked with an individual at my job. That had the same diagnosis as Brian Wilson. Though the person I was taking care of Had more bitterness in him. Brian at least tried finding positive aspects because people life his brother Carl, Al, I’m sure Dennis, and Melinda in his life were looking out for him, except for Eugene Landy, who was a terrible person and psychologist to Brian. God only knows what’s going on with Brian. I’m keeping him in prayers but it’s amazing how Brian went through a lot and he still is around.

My husband, Robin Willis had the honour in '72 to be the coach driver for the Beach Boys. After doing the 'Old Grey Whistle' they flew to Birmingham, where they did the first show. From there was Manchester, Liverpool & Leicester. They then travelled south & did Reading, Bristol, Brighton, London (Royal Festival Hall), Crystal Palace Bowl' with Elton John, The Who & Showaddywaddy.

The Beach Boys are the Best. I first saw them in 1979 when I was 19 years old and loved it. Since then I have seen them 45 times. I’ve seen the original lineup, then the group without Brian, the 50th anniversary tour, Mike & Bruce’s Beach Boys, and Brian’s Tour. These concerts are what summer is all about and they keep the “endless summer” going. I have met Mike and Bruce, talked with them a bit, got their autographs as well as a picture with them, and to tell you, Mike was the opposite of what people say about him. He was cool, down to earth and an OK guy. Bruce is so laid back and cool. Every time I hear “In my Room”, it brings me back to the days of hanging my feet out of my bedroom window after long little league game and listening to the BB’s on the radio. Summer would not be summer without Beach Boys songs!!!!

The 50th anniversary tour was simply amazing , no fooling around, just great music . It was fantastic to see teenagers there singing along. My favorite has to be ' wouldn't it be nice' with the amazing Hal Blaine on drums.

The Beach Boys were originally the Pendletons.
When the initial record pressings returned from the pressers, the 'Beach Boys' label was on the records....
I suspect Brian's father went ahead and changed the name behind their backs.

Fine to go see them simply for nostalgia, but you're likely not going to be excited about the way they sound. If they sound anything remotely decent, it won't be coming from these old dudes. Saw them 3 decades ago and they sounded rough then. Just not possible for old guys to replicate that music/sound from the 60s or 70s. Falsetto turns into something other worldly when you're a geriatric.

I would like to if he would only shut up about himself. That being said all three Wilson’s were superior musicians and that includes Dennis. Loves voice was an important part of the blend and he was tolerable for the first 5 years of the group, as far as lyrics go there is a reason he was listed as co- writer on many of the songs… it was because he simply added in phrases to work that was already finished and a lot of his claims were debunked by Al and Brian. It’s not even a bad thing to be called the least talented member of one of the all time great groups.

They never mention Charles Manson and Dennis Wilson being friends and Dennis letting Manson record several songs…one “Cease to Exist” and reworked as “Never Learn Not to Love” that were never released…and no mention of Dennis being a drug addict or how the Manson family destroyed his Ferrari and Mercedes Benz….or leaving his own home and the Manson family stealing all Dennis’s possessions or his disassociation with the Manson family…after they left a bullet as a treating message for Dennis….the Beach Boys always like to come off as a squeaky clean American band..but the have a murky past.

So what? What band purposely props up and advertises the darkest parts they went through on their official career-spanning documentary? What a weird thing to complain about. Every single band has had problems. There are a ton of other docs and columns out there that talk about the problems that plagued the Beach Boys. This just in, they were alive and famous through the '60s and '70s. They got into trouble. So did many other bands. Help us all!

I was blessed to meet Denny when he was 18 and I was 16! So young .. sweet and innocent! Truly a perfect gentlemen! Came to meet my Mama and loved my brothers Eddie and Bobby! Took me to his home in Hawthorne to meet his sweet darling Mama and father ! He would have me home by my curfew! Which thinking back was so kind .. with the status he had by then! I have nothing but wonderful .. clean .. all American memories of my and my oh so cute Denny! Carl and Brian were delightful! They were super tight .. lots of love between them . God Bless you sweet Brian .. the true masterpiece of the family ! Unbelievable talent! Yet all knew and appreciated it! To me the true Beach Boys were the Wilson Brothers! The true heart and soul! God Bless them all ! Thanks for some amazing sweet memories! XO < ❤️😇💕🙏🎀🦋🇺🇸😎⛱️🏄‍♀️🏝️🎶🎸🎹🕺💃💕🏄‍♀️⛱️🏝️🎹🎸🇺🇸
