So beautiful!! Listening to them talk about their childhood of singing together at their parents' parties; it is easy to see why they have that wonderful harmony. They have been singing together since they were kids and have perfect confidence in each other.
This clip is a genuine cultural video time capsule. For those of us who grew up on the Beach Boys' music, it is a precious gem, significantly better even than the many BB concert videos out there. I watched the "Endless Summer" TV series when it aired originally in the summer of 1989. It already felt nostalgic even back then. Now, having found this video on RUclips, I'm sure I'll watch it repeatedly. Very many thanks to DanThomasMusic for posting.
A friend of mine, Ron Coleman.. was a member of The Delroys, who recorded "Bermuda Shorts". He was also one of the writers. I told him it was one of the first songs The Beach Boys sang when they were forming. He was very happy to hear that.
I grew up in the 60's. Low key, I always kind of liked the Beach Boys, but I was more of a British invasion fan. A month ago, I watched the movie and then played a live Beach Boys concert on You Tube. I woke up with a smile on my face. Since then, I've been You Tubing the band through the State of Washington, Washington, DC, Paris, Costa Rica, England, etc. My family gets worried now when I (living in Missouri) say things like "take your shoes off because it's not cool to wear shoes while you're surfing." They are like WTF? I am currently happily lost in a Beach Boys time machine. Belatedly, I realize, they weren't just "fun" ... they were groundbreaking geniuses who created a definitive style of music. And nobody could stop them. Not the Beatles, the drug culture or even Charles Manson. The mesh of brothers and cousins was God-ordained. Even the evil father reminds me of a scripture ... "What was intended for bad was turned into good." This year, I have had spinal surgery and two brain surgeries, but my heart is, nonetheless, lately lighter because of the BB's!!!
a guy was very sick - even worse than what you described ? , he was into the marx brothers like you're into the beach boys. he made it his business to make watching marx bros.his main business and he got better !! be well !!
It's so wonderful to share this hour with them. Knowing the heartbreaking things they have all been through it's easy to see their love for each other got them through it all. Brian looks so proud to have the family all gathered around. Then there's patient and loving Carl who gave stability to his brothers. I love his songs most of all.

The Beach Boys troubled ingenious leader, Brian Wilson, at age 8, insisted to his parents that he be allowed to force younger brother Carl Wilson to learn harmonies when he was just 5. IT WORKED!!!
This is the first band I ever heard. I was 3 years old. I used to borrow the Beach Boy 45’s from my sister and blast them from her record player. I still like them as much now as I did in 1960, maybe even more.
I remember when this was televised back in the 80s. These are historic Beach Boy gems of them sitting around a campfire with even Brian lucid and relaxed.

It’s nice to see their families there - is carls wife and kids here? And which one of the ladies sitting either side of Mike Love is his wife? Just put of curiosity?
So beautiful!!
Listening to them talk about their childhood of singing together at their parents' parties; it is easy to see why they have that wonderful harmony. They have been singing together since they were kids and have perfect confidence in each other.
I DREAMED THIS last night and NOW I'm here singing along on my kitchen counter. I'M so HAPPY ! We've been having fun all summer long !
Lol. Brian gets a dig in at Mike's solo album, Looking Back With Love. Great stuff.
Nice Brian falseto!!!
What a group of talent they all have clear voices
my God, was Carl Wilson such an underrated guitarist. 👏👏👏
With those awesome pipes, it is
easy to overlook his guitar skills.
Carl Dean had it all. (And, Brian
knew it.)

21:35 Carl laying it down
I just saw some of that footage on the Grammy salute special tribute concert.
Great songs. Great voices. Great memories.
This is awesome. Everyone sounds great and everyone is in good spirits!
Literally started smiling while watching this. Magical to see them all together, relaxed, just jamming and having fun.
What a treasure.....I've never seen this campfire version
I remember watching this when I was younger Sunday nights I believe it was back then
A friend of mine, Ron Coleman.. was a member of The Delroys, who recorded "Bermuda Shorts". He was also one of the writers.
I told him it was one of the first songs The Beach Boys sang when they were forming. He was very happy to hear that.
Honest joy here. We all need this.
"What was intended for bad was turned into good." This year, I have had spinal surgery and two brain surgeries, but my heart is, nonetheless, lately lighter because of the BB's!!!
a guy was very sick - even worse than what you described ? , he was into the marx brothers like you're into the beach boys. he made it his business to make watching marx bros.his main business and he got better !! be well !!
I hate British bands
It's so wonderful to share this hour with them. Knowing the heartbreaking things they have all been through it's easy to see their love for each other got them through it all. Brian looks so proud to have the family all gathered around. Then there's patient and loving Carl who gave stability to his brothers. I love his songs most of all.
First time I heard the Beachboys was 1962 I was in 2 grade..a group of us were hanging around the corner on a busy street ..when the cars stopped for the light we would listen to the car radios…heard ..409..I was hooked..still cruise today listening to them.
This is excellent, they are relaxed, great harmonies yeah! 👍😄👑✅🎶🎤🎸🕺💯
Absolute gold! What a joy to see them all together (minus Dennis of course RIP)
BW vocals at 19:19 wow seriously good, Carl looked impressed!!
You can hear someone (not Carl) actually compliment him after the song ends.
@@karmafrog1i think it was Al

How great to bring back these memories in such times as these, when we really need something to lift our spirits.
Saw these guys in 1967. They are so good live I was blown away.
WHO NEEDS A STUDIO?!!??! THIS WAS AWESOME.. LOLLL SO FUN... GOOD COMPANY. Brian is one heck of a good looking man. Wow so so talented, beautiful voice....brian & carls voices..harmonizing one of the best ...along side of the carpenters
Raw talent on display.....singing, acoustics, nothing to hide behind.

This was a great time with these guys. After all the fighting through the years.
Really great job on piecing all this together.
I'm an old guy and I've never even seen clips from this before.
There isn't much out there with the guys mingling together like this. Amazing
