    That need to logon every time I switch from E6 was killing me. Sometimes I needed to relogin and start the round over. This hidden setting of saving my login will save me a lot of frustration. Huge thank you for including this small huge hint in your video!!!

      Hey Jake ok nice that's good to know! Yeah it just might be thinking about the last video with the MLM2PRO as well I saw fades when I wasn't expecting them. I'll keep it in mind.

      Hey mate it's very early days so we will wait and see. For now it's only available for iPhone which I don't have so I can't test it.. but I'm sure the guy will be working on it now. Poor guy as soon as something like this is released he will be getting hounded! 🤣. The good news is that people have tried it and said it works. How stable it is I don't know..

    Great stuff Joe. The chipping was the one thing letting the MLM2 down in your other video. Much better with the Garmin. The side spin with the Garmin is what it is, as you say. Not perfect but still a decent golf simulator experience and does a reasonable job of estimating the spin on a lot of shots. I like that you were using the solid shot tracer this time. I much prefer that to the comet tracer which is the default setting on E6. Since you hate the 3 putts so much ever considered changing to 'player decides'? No more 3 putts. 😂

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  Год назад +1

      Hey Booji yeah absolutely the missed chip shots and hit the overall chipping experience is really lacking with the MLM2PRO I'm glad that was the takeaway I really tried to highlight that especially at the end. Yes with the MLM2PRO settings I haven't changed anything so it's all what is set at default which is comet 😢 lol. Yeah if I'm playing I'll often go player decides and then have my own set distances so inside 10ft 1 putt then 10-40ft 2 putt outside that 3 putt! In these videos it keeps it moving if it's just CPU decides.

      @@JLagGOLF it's great that E6 has these options. I often use E6 at the range as I don't have a proper home setup and there is an 'Autoscore' option which assesses your score once you are handy to the green. I don't like wasting range balls on short chips so it is perfect and rewards you with a 'hot streak' bonus if you've performed well on the previous 3 holes. A great feature of E6.

      @@boojiboy2275 That's cool and makes range practice so much more fun! Tbh I don't get to the range much at all but I would have loved to have these devices as a kid... Hello Joe, I have watched numerous videos about Garmin. Can you please answer a question for me? Hole 4, you say you're hitting a Bumb 6 iron, but the bottom left display says you're hitting a sand wedge. I have noticed that a lot with the videos. Does that club selection make any difference to the game? I can't see getting the same results for any club if you don't hit what is selected or change the club to what you are genuinely hitting. Thanks for your time.

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  4 месяца назад

      Hey mate really sorry for the late reply and hope you have found an answer for this! So no the bottom left club selection makes no difference whatsoever for the data. All that selection does is organise all of your data for post round analysis so you can go into the e6 portal and select say sw for instance and it will bring up all the shots you had that bottom left section selected with sw. So in short no it has no effect on the actual gameplay.
      Cheers

    My R10 really struggles with chipping especially bump and runs...they're almost nonexistent. I watched your other video (as well as some others out there) and I have tried some different swing techniques for chipping but just can't seem to get a lot of consistency.

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  Год назад +1

      Hey Jeff yes I do think this is user dependent and very much swing dependent like I say in my chipping video. I do have a very quick tempo on my chip shots like you see at the end of the video that helps the Garmin pick up on everything. Even those tiny swing 6 iron bump and runs! The ball barely got airborne. I think it's one of those things where as long as you understand the limitations of your own unit then try and adjust the settings to work for example on GS Pro you can set the unit to auto chip if you are within the bigger gimmie circle. I really don't like having to change technique based on the launch monitor not being able to pick it up.. that to me seems like negative training.

    • @jcass110
      @jcass110 Год назад

      @@JLagGOLF I agree…but at the same time, I am also seeing a benefit to having to increase my tempo on a short chip which does seem to keep me from chunking or fat hitting them. So in the end if it helps me become a better more confident chipper, I’m all for it. But it can be frustrating. Lol

    Just seeing this video, great stuff! Do you find E6 + Garmin gives just a tick lower club and ball speed? Not sure if it’s just me, but it seems consistently a few MPH lower than Trackman. Thanks!

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  Год назад

      That's interesting! So it's definitely 2 mph ball speed slower than my foresight GC2 and that is consistent. The carry distances I find are pretty much perfect using Awesome Golf though.

    Love the videos man, curious though does the unit itself have any sort of height requirement or is that moreso for the golfers reach? My ceilings are 8' tall with a low point at 7.5' near one end. I have 16' length and 10' width, I'm able to get a full swing comfortably with plenty of room above, so the space itself shouldn't be an issue I assume? Thanks in advance pal lol.

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  Год назад

      Thanks mate! Sorry for the late reply I've had a fair few messages recently and I'm getting through them when I can. So Garmin say you need 8 feet height.. to me this is just more of a recommendation for being able to swing in your room. My ceiling is height is 8ft 10 inches (I'm 6 foot) and I have hit the roof a few times with driver 🤣. I think it should work... but I can't give you a definitive answer unfortunately.. they state 8 feet so I guess you have to go with that. You might be better off getting a camera based unit? Like the skytrak or a used GC2

    What balls are you using? I heard Pro V1 show spin way better or any brand w the newer tech in it for radar but Garmin put an update out Pro V1 and V1X i think. Thanks!

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  Год назад

      Hey mate I'm using the RCT Pro V1 balls. A few years back Titleist partnered with trackman and made the prov1 and prov1x RCT balls or Radar Capture Technology balls. These are essentially a prov1 with some metal bands under the urathane cover that help the radar calculate the spin.
      Garmin have since integrated them into their system as well which is great as it helps with accurate (calculated) backspin numbers indoors.

    What if you have your setup outdoors? Do you need the special golf balls then?

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey mate it all depends on how far it is you're hitting or the captured ball flight. If you're hitting at a driving range then no but if you're outside still hitting into a net then yes you will want to use the RCT balls for the most accurate data.

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  11 месяцев назад +1

      No selecting what club you're using is only for keeping all your stats for review later. The Garmin doesn't need you to select a club it just gets the numbers and produces the shot. It is best to use RCT balls as well so you get the calculated back spin numbers not estimated. Or you can get some metallic tape and put it on your golf balls as well some people have had success doing that.

      Absolutely I actually did a video on this. ruclips.net/video/hd7dyqedJqw/видео.htmlsi=oWqamvxIv4jM9q1t
      You do get a free licence with the Garmin to use e6 on an iOS device.. so it's an iOS licence that gives you 5 free courses and driving ranges. But there's nothing stopping you buying e6 connect the PC version and using it. I personally would choose GS Pro over e6 but that's just personal preference.

      Needs vs cost. I thought I saw that with the cost of the subscriptions, the total cost of ownership for the MLM was essentially double that. While we are talking about two units on the lower end of the cost spectrum - they are still a long ways apart.
      For me, my main consideration was just to have a place and a reason to swing for half the year when I can't get out and play. I'm not expecting to work miracles in the garage for 5 months, but at least swinging and moving keeps me ready for the season when I can actually get back outside.

    • @JLagGOLF

      Hey Rastus yes this was odd. I think it displays that when it misses all the estimated club path and face to path. I'm going to do some testing over the next few days because that was definitely odd for me.usually it's able to estimate the shot shape and give something rather than just straight.

    What is an rct ball?

    • @JLagGOLF
      @JLagGOLF  Год назад

      Hey mate Radar Capture Technology (RCT) are designed to enhance the data capture of launch conditions in an indoor environment and deliver the most accurate information possible. In a nutshell it's a Titleist ball that has metal just under the cover that makes it easier for the radar to pick up on and give calculated spin instead of the units estimated spin. This is going to give way more accurate carry distance numbers.
