- Thunderhawk opened Wednesday at Michigan's Adto the screams of a train load of riders who paid for the opportunity of the first ride through an American Red Cross local fundraising effort.
I went on this just yesterday and my neck hurts a lot.
totally worth it
This is one of my favorite rides
I live in Ohio, so I was sad when Geauga Lake Amusement park closed, but I'm kinda happy that this ride is still running somewhere else.

i just rode this yesterday i never rode shivering timbers or this or CORKSCREW lol
so i rode this ride and the others that i said but i rode this ride and i fell in LOVE with it i rode it like 20 times it was AWSOME@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this type of roller coaster! It looks just lkike Minderaser at six flags new england!=D
just went there today and rode this the first time....awesome ride. i kept thinking that the track and other things that pass under you during the ride would hit my legs lol

thanks for the info. and you are right i did some research and the one from opryland was sold to six flags discovery kingdom in california and is now called Kong. but this was a common track and this is the exact same layout very fun ride.
i remember riding on this. it was fun. the best part is that they let you take off your shoes on the ride.

This is soooo fun this is a must ride ride don't be scared its only 2 minutes 20 seconds and feels over quick

i litterly rode this 20 times cause i got there really early and no one was here so i got on constinly and BEST roller coster of my life
beleive me from experience! this ride is fuckin wicked! i was nervous at first but i am priveleged to say this was my FIRST rollercoaster EVER! Awesome Ride

its relle not tht bad it wuz one of mi first upside roller coaster i rode and i wuz a little scared but i would so do it again.. i luv this ride

When this ride use to be at Geauga Lake before Michigan's Adventure it was only like the 4th best ride. Look up Dominator, X-Flight and the Villian.
I love this ride I had got on it 6 different times last year in the summer 2013
i rid this when i was 8 and this thing was the newest ride out... i remiber when my sis was talking stuff saying ' im gonna ride it i dont know about my brother because hes scary but i know ill ride it!' OHHH she got me so made...but when we got to michagain adventure she said she would ride another ride after the cowk screw lol at the end my mom was like 'so we going to ride the thunder hawk now" she was like " NO I WANT TO GO HOME I...I IM TIRED I DONT WANT TO RIDE NO MORE" XD
i remember this ride in 2014.
Thunderhawk is fun for sure....But I think Cedar Fair needs to add a couple more coasters...Heck I'd even be happy with a clone of "Wicked Twister" from Cedar Point. But overall it's still the best park Michigan has:)

this looks just like the coaster they had a opryland in tennessee but they shut down opryland i wonder if they bought this ride from them.. its exactly the same ride just a different color. at opryland it was call Hangman and it was awesome i rode it several time.
No different than Cedar Points "Raptor"

The new trains/restraints were not added to Thunderhawk. To my knowledge, they are only on the Great Nor'Easter.

I have ridden a ride like this called the mind eraser. It raddled my head and gave me a headache. I'm not sure about this ride, but it might be better then mind eraser

@casinobowling tahts because it was designed by Aero-Dynamics. they manufacture coasters and then sell disigns, the ppl who own mich adventures just decided it was time for a cheap coaster to be puit in

i have rode this last year, and when your riding i always keep my legs locked together becuase it always seems like your legs are gonna hit the rail.
also major headache afterwords with the restraint.

michigan's adventure looks like alot of fun, sucks I live on other side of state and its like same distance as CP
Oh boy my 1 sis would NOT want 2 ride that then if we went this year. And I'd deffinetly be on that. I'd been on almost all of Cedar Point's coasters except Jr. Gemini (1 of 2 children's coasters) and the Mavrick (adult coaster). So ya know how I feel about them.
@KayCeeMoney a bit, it is a bit different but still very fun i reccomend it
One complaint. The mounted camera for the POV was HORRIBLE in this video. Tilted and facing down? I mean, we don't need a simulation of a cramped neck.

when i rode it at geauga lake it was really shaky and unsmooth is it still like that?
every once in a while the right seat comes up 6 secs late or gets stuck... lol it hasnt happend to me but i did to my cusins mom... i love this ride :) but brakes ARE SOOO loud!
not nearly as bad shaking as mean streak..i've worked at both places and mean streak is way more jerky and bumpy.
it looked like they were going to hit the pillers.

Not a bad ride, they let me on once but the second time I got in line they told me I was too tall to ride.
@maverickrider11, the max speed is 50mph...there's no way we're going 50 through the inversions
Yeah, definitely the best ride in Michigan...but that's about it.

@pussymstrr Michigan's Adventure is fun. It's smaller and there's only a few roller coasters, but the waterpark kindaaa makes up for it. And Thunderhawk is better than Raptor, you just have to keep your arms and legs inside because you feel like you're going to lose them at some parts. Ceader Point is still better for coaster maniacs, but they're owned bu the same people so what few coasters they have are pretty good.
