  • This is a POV of Shivering Timbers, a CCI wooden coaster that opened up to astonishing reviews when it opened in 1998. This video was shot during the ERT (exclusive ride time) during the 1998 ACE Spring Con. The coaster hadn't even been open for twenty-four hours at the time this video was taken.

      Sean Flaharty I can't help but wonder if topper track from the top of the first drop all the way through to the final brakes would help it... my first intuitions are is that it would make it pretty damn smooth again...

    • @SeanFlaharty
      @SeanFlaharty  6 лет назад +1

      That might be an option but I believe Topper Track provides more friction, at least that is what I was told. The ride could possibly lose a lot of steam by the end. However, it's worth a try. This is one of the main reasons why the new I-Box conversions have taller lifts. More energy is needed. Yea, I know we are talking about two different ride systems here but I think you catch what I am trying to say. :)

    They need to do a Refurb on this..
    Here in Southern California at Knotts Berry Farm we have Ghost Rider.
    Similar to what others have posted about the rough ride...............we had the same problem. It was so bad the name of the Ride suddenly took on "Rough Rider" because it was that bad.
    Well. They reopened Ghost Rider after a Refurb and I can tell you it was worth the wait......smooth as can be...and fassst!

    • @SeanFlaharty
      @SeanFlaharty  7 лет назад +1

      A rehab would go a long way for ST. I have heard both good and bad things about the new rehab for Ghost Rider, but the way I look at it, the ride REALLY needed something done with it. I am glad it's smoother now.

      I can tell you as a season pass holder that it is smooth like butter..
      I was probably in the first 500 to ride it once it opened with the refurb.
      I can already tell a difference from only a few months ago.
      but comparably speaking...it was well worth the wait.
      it's a good ride that doesn't quit.....until the end...
