I went into both areas to see what level the stages were at. With Elheim being around level 15 and Drakenhold being around level 11, the devs are pointing to Drakenhold first. After recruiting the elf from entering Elheim, I went to Drakenhold.
There is a lvl 13 trial in northern cornia you could probably use to grind up to lvl 15 to do elheim first. I would almost prefer to do SOME of elheim first because there are elven characters i want in my party.
100% agree. Going through both routes simultaneously is the best strategy. When the enemy level is too high for one mission, take this as a sign to hop over to the other nation.
i started drakenhold bc it seemed more like a side quest. like the main story wanted me to see the elves where rescuing victoria was to get power... but hearing this ill pay the elves a visit.
I did drakenhold but accidentally got the elf rosalinde too before starting drak then paired her with berengaria and a witch which is now my strongest party.
@@Sinistra359 its really the synergy between berengaria and the witch which gives her true strike or magic conferral for her row attack. The elf girl is just good on any comp bec of flexibility so i keep moving her around whenever needed

I started with Elfhiem just for the two elf princesses, they are both really op, Rosalinde does insane damage with her spirits while Eltolinde has some insane heals, pair them both with Alain and Scarlett, it makes the team unkillabe with insane damage
Yes totally in my playthrough i started with the dragon place and then I did the elf. The game is just too fun I think its the path the game kinda wants you to take, as the elf map skyrocket really hard in levels compared to the drake map My units composition is kinda busted now tho compared to the elf map its kinda insane. One comp I have a tons of fun with is a full cav with tons of knight running knight pursuit and knight call (the skill that boost knight dmg by 20%) to ramp up the damage boost to absurd degree Its not my strongest combat wise, but with a griffin speed boost you can speedrun map objective like crazy
I went to elheim first because I was promised hot sexy elven waifus. Which is what I got. No complaints there. My only regret is that I was over leveled by the time I left elheim with my elven harem.
On my first run, I did it completely blind. I went Drakenhold, which felt the more natural route. Virginia may also have swayed me for story reasons, and I wasn't disappointed. And when I got Berengaria? Yeah, she wrecked things. I also went there on my second True Zenoiran run, and what swung it for me was earlier access to the Coliseum. The Elven characters can slot into many different party configurations, but the Coliseum rewards and prizes are too good.
Doesnt feel right that people might look this up just to decide which route to go first and youre casually showing post promoted alain right at the start lmao
I went to the dragon place, until i got to the coliseum, then i went to the elf place until i had to go to the tower, then at like lvl 20 i went to the beast area because i really wanted to try them (werefox and lion are some of my favorites, fox is stupid fast at night with a movement buff) then went back to dragon beat it then elf then back to beast, I get sidetracked easy
I just picked Drakenhold because the first stage there was level 9. The first stage in Elheim is 16. Given how good Verginia and Berengaria are as characters, I felt fine going forward in Drakenhold. I haven't been to Elheim yet.
I went to drakenhold and boy did that gameplay catch me off guard there’s a skill check (depending on difficulty and playstyle this might not matter to you) but the unit I lost was a sudden blow to my army strength. But it made me reconsider some of my lineups so it made me better. 10/10 quest line
I was lv12 when I went to the elves and I just couldn't win the first battle. I returned later at level 15/16 and it still was very hard. I'm plyaing on the hardest mode BTW
I go with the level flow..i go find another quest if the quest level is high..doing quest on their level order..i ended up clearing draken hold first..
I cleared Drakenhold before skipping straight north to Bastorias. Didnt even bother entering Elheim until I purged zenoira and got me an all werewolf unit. Totally worth the pain of stratagizing around my underleveled ass.
You can get her at around level 23 if you lvl your renown to a put 2 thieves in front with 1 Druid and 2 aoe dmgdealers. Lil rng in first 2 hits if they are not dodged. After that the enemy will have no way to attack or defend. And you do not need to kill them in pvp only do more smog than them.
I did Elfland first assuming levels would just adjust, and now going through Drakenhold is a slog. On the plus side, I'm using all the new units to make it slightly more difficult.
No the levels for the enemies are fixed and won’t scale. Drakenhold is easier to start with cause it has a lower base level to fight against compared to Elheim. That being said I went to Elheim first not knowing it was the harder area but found and grinded off the Sigils there so when I finally beat Elheim and went to Drakenhold I bulldozed through it with little effort since it was a lower level area.
I went to Drakkenhold first mainly because I heard it was easier, plus it’s hard to refuse more flying units. I finished the story there last night, now I’m just grinding for materials to access the reaper carving and get the regional special item. I did pop into Elwin briefly to check it out though.
Genuinely, I thought the elf area was the next area because when that mysterious voice recommends you go to the two areas. I am almost positive if they recommended I go to the elven area first but I could be wrong but that's why I went that way. I was already level 15 or 16 by the time I got there, but that's because I pretty much cleared everything in the first area outside of the past getting past the level 40 enemies. Ah, but hopefully I didn't make the wrong choice. I've been blitzing through the elephant area very easily. I have not struggled on any mission so I'm assuming my team comps are pretty good, but I just realized I kind of want to redo them. I want an entire unit representative of every area that I visit. I see that's going to be a little hard with the elves because they feel like they all do a little bit of everything so I might just have to build around one or two of them
I kept jumping back and forth on whatever mission that would give me a new character. Drakenhold is clearly the intended path, though. Like going to Undead Burg first in Dark Souls.
I got my cheeks clapped after I did the first level ten mission in the Elf land and got the first elf - hadn't really dialed in team building yet - and went off and did Drakenhold instead

I'm halfway through Elfheim after clearing drakenhold first and kinda regret not dipping into both routes. Most of my units are close to hitting 20 and so far elfheim is far too easy. If so it would suggest them already having some connection and therefore I would probably choose their next if I could
