I love these bars. Got a 760mm Renthal Fatbar to replace the alloy 740mm Specialized bars, and it really cut down the vibrations from trail chatter and they are so much lighter. The fork no longer wanders on its own with lighter bars. My Stumpy came stock with a carbon crankset, so logic would say to spec it w carbon bars for $150 more... It was $4K bike 6 years ago???? Sometimes corporate specs are baffling.
I just came in from working on my Roscoe 8, new pads and rotors. We had almost 8" of snow last Thursday and today it's 40°F/17°C, so our trails are a total mess. The bar and stem look good, but I am surprised you didn't go back with the orange grips that match your pedals.
I had several 780mm handlebars when I rode mtb 😊 (until recently) and they were always an overkill for me! I'm 186cm and pretty light, around 77-79 kg usually.. ☺️ After I built myself a tracklocross bike on a budget, and all my 780mm bars were gone,(sold)all I had were this 740mm handlebars,and... they are just PERFECT! The width is perfect! Never again super wide bars, because,in most of the situations, they are an absolute overkill! Greetings from Kris from Croatia 😎
Just a heads up! Headset cap should be the first thing to screw in as it clamps together the stem, spacers and fork, and only after screw the stem to the fork.
Just thought I would share this with you. Not long after posting my last comment, I discovered a crack along the weld at the seat tube seat stay on the right side. Trek was phenomenal in getting me a replacement in one week, but it's a different colorway. It is flat black w/ white Trek decals and no model name. From my research it's the 2021 X Caliber 8 frame since the Roscoe shares the same frame, but different colors and component build. I am now calling my bike a Roscoe X since it's an X Caliber frame, Roscoe 8 components, and my upgrades (bar, stem, seat, and RS Revelation fork). Hope your bike last considerably longer, I only had mine 20 months, but Trek made it right.
@@topspot4834 The 2020-21 Roscoe and the X Caliber share the same frame and geometry, they're just built with different components. The Roscoe is trail oriented with 27.5+ and 120mm fork. The X Caliber is setup for XC with 29er's and a 100mm fork . The colorways are the only difference and when I got my bike back it rode and handled no different. Plus Trek stocks a limited number of replacement frames, so I am just glad I did get mine replaced
I hate the hood bars and can’t figure out why people put bars on that don’t match anything else. I didn’t like Renthals carbon bars either as it was too harsh so back to Raceface Next R’s.
Gold is the perfect choice. Black bars you can see at each corner of the streets.
Those bars and stem look so much better
THE TWO TONE LOOKS AWESOME
Looking so good mate 👌
I have just got the same bars and stem, looks great with gum colour grips and red lock rings.

If you're happy I'm happy, but if you had a Roscoe and they sent an X Caliber frame instead, why are you ok with that?

Looks damn good. But I’d stick with the orange grips matching the pedals. Happy riding, happy tinkering!

Looks great bud what orange grips and pedals are they? 🤟
Nice..ima do it this on my X Caliber ☺️
Is that the 40mm? It looks very different to my 33mm
