I think you must have been the one who posted the punchcard with this pattern. I thought that it would be an easy pattern to hand manipulate on the LK 150. The first one I did was selecting every row like the punchcard. I decided that went too slow so I changed to selecting every other row.
Thank you for this excellent tutorial I’ll. I found this type of knitting machine and now I am trying to learn all about i. Your video is very helpful.
Hi Anna. I had a go making this hat and am pretty happy with the result👍 My yarn was thicker so I made a shorter hem. Also for the crown I used stocking stitch over the last 2 inches for less bulk. Found my seam was bulky though. First time using tuck stitch so great project thanks again.
Thank you for this video. I love this hat. I made it today. Unfortunately it’s too big. I’m using a bulky machine though and worsted weight yarn. I tried to adjust for the differences, but got it wrong. Now I have a sample I can make the necessary adjustments. I’m future projects would you consider including the gauge?
Thank you for this great video i have a empisal vistamatic 250 and my carriage is different from yours. Im still very new to MK and would love to give this a try. Will the tension be more or less the same
I think that is a standard gauge machine which means you will need thinner yarn and to use more needles for the hat. The tension would be whatever works for the yarn you choose.
I was gifted 2 knitting machines recently and I've been watching every video I can find since they didn't come with the manuals. Thank you for explaining the settings on the carriage. No one mentions what the levers do! If you have any videos on the subject, I would love a link. I have the LK150 and a SK280. I haven't even used the SK yet.
Thank you! I made this hat yesterday and it came out pretty good. I certainly learned a lot. Had to pull out stitches a few times. I definitely understand my tension better. I'm obsessed with your videos and appreciate them so much. I purchased some minikins yarn and am going to try the dish cloths next. Your videos gave me the confidence to try more than a scarf!
There are videos on RUclips which tell you how to use your machine and manuals on line are free. They are called operation manuals , knitmaster , empisal, silvereed are all the same machine .
Thanks very much for sharing, I am new knitter. Would you please please always mention the SIZE of the yard and Tension numbers for references would be very helpful to learn and get good at this fun hobby.
I showed the yarn and talked about the weight (size) of the yarn at the beginning of the video. I also have a link to it in the description. I mentioned the dial tension I used also. Thanks for watching!
No, because you have to put the held needles back to upper work and the Beetle selects based on the needles in upper work. So, you have to use the selectors.
Well, it's the same but you have to account for whether that particular stitch was tucked or not. Sometimes the stitch will have extra strands. This is not something I can really explain in a comment, unfortunately.
My hats usually measure about 9 inches. You still have 6 rows to go. If you think it's going to be too short then do another repeat or two of the pattern.
A quick question ma'am. I use a Brother KH-821. What Tension size do you advise that I use for this project? I am using a 3 ply acrylic fingering yarn.

@@AnnaHaferman would design it. Nothing fancy. Was thinking of taking the hat brim and use that as the waist. Then do the pattern and then maybe another hem like the waist at the bottom.
I have a Brother KX-390 so what changes should I make to use the 9mm gauge? (number of stitches, tensions, etc.) Or will it work without makimg any changes?
You will probably want to use a thicker yarn, less stitches and tension would be dictated by which yarn you choose. I suggest making a swatch of the stitch pattern to see how the fabric knits.
Very nice video. Thank you for sharing. Do you have a link to the weights that the claw weights are hanging onto? I don't know what they are called, bar weights? Thanks
It's called a "cast on comb." Here is a link for one that will work with the LK 150. Yes the yarn is not very elastic. Seeing the seaming of tuck stitches very helpful.

Can you use the Needle Beetle with this pattern?
No, because you have to put the held needles back to upper work and the Beetle selects based on the needles in upper work. So, you have to use the selectors.
Love your videos! How many stitches would you use for a kids hat
You'll have to experiment with that. I think this was a 4 stitch repeat so go down by a multiple of 4 otherwise the pattern won't match up.
Thanks, Anna. It's beautiful. Will you bring your hats to the meeting on Saturday?
Sure!
Please can you advise how to pick up a dropped stitch when knitting this kind of tuck stitch?
It’s hard to describe but take off any weight, pinch the stitch and insert the tool into it and put back on the needle.
Beautiful
Thanks!
Lovely, thanks for sharing it ❤

The stitch has spread down the rows. I understand how to pick up stocking stitch. Is it the same for tick stitch?

Anna, JoAnn's sells Premier yarns in their stores.
Do they have the DK weight? The last time I was there they didn't.
They have it in the JoAnn stores I've been to. If they don'y you can order it online.

A quick question ma'am. I use a Brother KH-821. What Tension size do you advise that I use for this project?

You could try casting on 146 needles. You would need more rows. If you have an 821 you could use a punch card for the patterning.

This is a 4 stitch repeat so you would just have to decrease the number of stitches you cast on by a multiple of four and do less rows.
