    I am just getting back into machine knitting after 20+ years. I have a brother 970. This is a wonderful video! Will be looking up your others as you explain things so well! Now to figure out how to adapt the stitches to a standard gauge machine.

    Thanks for the great patterns! I made a cowl using the same tuck stitch on 130 stitches, then added another hem to the other side.

      @@AnnaHaferman KX 390 convertible 4.5m/m & 9.0m Pitch Knitter. Although I have only used the larger setting. This is my first flat bed knitting machine. Previously, I was knitting with the Addi Express and Addi Kingsize. Between the two I could make many objects.
      The flat bed really helps as it’s easier to visualise the object once one gets used to the perspective. I’m throughly enjoying myself. I’m disabled and motorbikes were my hobby… who knew I’d find delight in knitting. At the very lease.. my friends all have hats and scarves to keep them warm 😁👍

      Thank you! Not an inexpensive little gadget, is it? I’m thinking maybe I’ll be needing the intarsia carraige also. Idk I just joined some machine knitting groups to help me just become a better machine knitter. But this is one of the first videos I’ve seen using these tools and I can see the beetle will help with accuracy!!

      @@paulettegaleener6754 It may seem pricey, but it is definitely worth the price. Kriskrafter, who makes the Needle Beetle, is a small female owned business, well worth supporting. There are so few devices being made for the LK 150 these days; we are really lucky Kris is producing this gadget.

    Hello Anna, If after you have done the first pattern part, first 4 rows of white, can you just carry on with the pink and only have one row of "snowballs"? This would make a nice 'stripe' around a beanie or across the start of a scarf. Thank you so much for the detail. Regards, JennyB.

    Anna, When you seam the ribbing, are you matters stitch both layers at the same time?

      Start at the back and seam the back of the ribbing, then keep going around the front.

      @@bnnyweaver I have a pretty big head and it and it fits me snugly, but you could try adding 8 stitches and see how it goes. You have to add (or subtract) a multiple of 8 or the pattern won't work out and be seamless. Try going from needle 53 left to 53 right.

    also watched your video on the intarsia head for the 150. would you recommend using the intarsia head? from looking at both videos, it appears using the intarsia head would give a better size fit to the hat as not using a tuck stitch. Am I correct?

      I showed how to do this same stitch pattern in the intarsia video. It’s two different ways to do the same thing. I don’t understand what you mean by a “better size fit.” The size would be the same assuming you used the same yarn, tension, etc…

      @@AnnaHaferman by “size fit” I meant the stitches appeared to be uniform when using the intarsia carriage while using the tuck stitch method on the regular carriage seemed to make the pattern tighter. I may be mistaken.

      @@nanafish7845 It should be the same. If anything the intarsia carriage is less regular because you hand feed the yarn rather than using the tension mast

    Hello Anna, My intarsia carriage arrived today. I did knit the band on my cushion and it looks great (white dots on red). Tried to send a video but that is not possible. May post some on YT. Would like to knit a horizontal button hole in stocking stitch but can't find a video of doing it. Can you help please? Regards, JennyB.

    I'm using the bubble stitch for a pillow case. I want the be stockinette. Should I use the same number of stitches and rows for both pieces or is the bubble stitch smaller than stockinette?

      It’s probably wider and shorter. You should do a swatch and measure.

    Can't wait to try this. Is there a particular reason you park the pink yarn on the left, instead of on the right in the yarn rest at the back of the bed?

      Park the yarn in the left hand feeder on the left, the yarn in the right feeder on the right. Otherwise your yarn antennas cross.

      I have an old letter opener that I use but if you don’t have one you can cut an old credit card diagonally and use that. I showed the tool I use in my intarsia carriage video.

    16:59 I can't figure out what settings the side of carriage is supposed to be in after I do polka dots and start main color pink again. Can someone help me?

      You set the carriage back to hold which is 1 on the LK 150. What machine are you using?

      I can't remember which yarn it was, but I put a link to something very similar in the description box. Do you mean the mast tension? I don't remember but I usually set it in the middle and tighten or loosen if necessary.

    Has anyone made this in worsted weight? If so, how many stitches did you cast on? (For adult size)

      I have. Try going from 45 L to 45 R. It has to be a multiple of 8 plus 2 needles to get the seam right.

      I can't remember. I showed the number of repeats in the video. This is done on a mi-gauge machine so it would be different on the 965 as it is a standard gauge.

      This is a very old stitch pattern that is in a lot of the old stitch pattern books. The books have thousands of patterns; usually for punch cards. It takes a bit of knowledge to translate between the punch card pattern and manual selection. In the video I show you exactly how to do the stitch pattern on the LK 150 or the KX 350. It could be done on almost any knitting machine as well.

      Sorry, but I haven't worked out the number of stitches for all sizes. Try doing 16 less total and see how it goes.

    Why are so many patterns done on the lk150 😏so frustrating, there's hardly any bulky patterns out there

      The reason is that the LK 150 is still being made thus more popular. Plus, it knits mid-gauge yarn which knits up to a nice weight. Bulky knits are often too bulky, especially if you live in the South as I do.
