    Soooo cute! I made 3 snowball hats for my granddaughters for Christmas. They are 28, 17 and13. They LOVED their hats in THEIR personal preference color made just for them!!! I will now need to make matching mittens also. Thank you so much, Anna, for this tutorial. You are so very generous to put this up on YT. I hope you have a wonderful 2023. Looks like you had a fender bender on your finger, hope it gets better soon. ♥

      Thanks so much! My dog accidentally bit me a couple weeks ago. I have been waiting for it to heal up to do this video.

      Also- after the ribbing switch to stitch size 4.5 when you do the pattern. I forgot to mention it in the video.

    Hey Anna, I wanted to let you know that I successfully completed one mitten. It is all sewn up and finished. The only fiddly part, which I didn't get quite right, was the sewing up. Somehow matching the pattern was a little tricky for me but it is not very noticeable. Also sewing up the double cuff was a little tricky with a mattress stitch and so I just backstitched the seam and it looks great, I made two or three prototypes in order to get the size and fabrication I needed. Thanks so much for a great tutorial! I am going to send you a coffee in appreciation! :)))

      Thanks so much! When you do the other mitten, make sure to reverse it.

      @@AnnaHaferman Yes, I was wondering if that is important. Do I still park the yarns at the same sides of the machine? I am thinking it is just the positioning of the thumb that needs to switch sides. Correct?

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  3 месяца назад

      @@KarlSmith-p5r The yarn in the right feeder always gets parked on the right and the yarn in the left feeder gets parked on the left.
      The thumb switches sides but also, if I started with the carriage on the right with this one, then start on the left for the other one. That means that the yarn will be on the correct side when you start the thumb. (I cant remember which side I started on in this video, but it was probably the right side.)

    This is a great video! The only changes I made was to do an easy fairisle so mitten was 2 yarns thick. I also short rowed my top to make a nice rounded top. Your instructions are clear and precise. what a fun project!

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  Год назад

      That’s great! I normally short row the tops of my mittens but with the tuck pattern I used it doesn’t really work.

    Very nice. Thank you Anna. You do both mittens the same?

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  Год назад +3

      For the other mitten you reverse it. So anything I showed on the right will be on the left and vice versa.

  • @juliacannings509
    @juliacannings509 Месяц назад

    It’s ok I’ve just looked at pattern lol it starts on other side that makes sense I’m finding it almost impossible to join mitt, I have tiny little white bits all up the seam, the hat joined easier .

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  23 дня назад

      It's the same pattern so the joining is the same on the hat or the mitten. Sometimes it's more difficult than other times, though, so take a break and try again later.

    Can this pattern of the hat and mittens be done on the Bond ISM?

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  Год назад +1

      I think so but I’m not too familiar with that machine so I can’t tell you how it would be done.

    How do we e wrap on the left when the carriage is on the right ?, when pattern is reversed ?

      e-wrap clockwise when going from right to left.

    Do you think they would come out the same size on my SK860. I am being lazy and trying to avoid having to do a tension swatch. Out of interest, What gauge did you get using the yarn with this stitch pattern?

    • @AnnaHaferman
      @AnnaHaferman  3 месяца назад

      Yeah they would probably be the same if you use a DK yarn. I have no idea what my gauge was.

      This is a mid-gauge machine. 6.5 mm between the needles.
