I respect Mr. Henderson and his opinion and thank him for this entertaining program. My problem is with my fellow Serbs who attack him and complain and whine about their lives in Serbia. These people have never been to the West or here in the States. Try surviving in New York for a couple months or gang infested Chicago. You think Belgrade is expensive? Try Los Angeles cost of living. You think you have coruption? We invented and perfected it here. Think Belgrade is crap? Visit Detroit for a day.

It's expensive relative to our salaries. Rent for a 50m2 apartment is 450e and the average salary is 600e, add bills to the equation and you're paying the rent and bills more than what you earn per month. Nyc may be expensive but you definitely don't pay rent and bills more than your month's salary worth

Mr. Henderson opinion is solely based on Western money invested in low tax counties, and that has nothing to do in terms of economic and political situations for people FROM Serbia.
And that hat has nothing to do with the average Serbian person, it's an elitist Western point of view, where he will take his money, no matter what.
I find it very arrogant to tell me ,and to hundreds of thousands other Serbian citizens, who moved out from wars, corruption and poverty that we are not capable of seeing reality around us.
      Just amazing.

There is a huge misunderstanding within this debate. The foreigners can't see how much sharper the line between poverty and luxury is for the locals, and the locals cannot zoom out from their struggled financial situations enough to see the good sides like safety, health and individual freedoms or traditions that they're enjoying. West doesn't have these freedoms at all.
Yes, the game is rigged against you if you are a common Serb. Sanctioned, low salaries, always needing some "I know a guy who knows a guy" to get certain things done, no safety nets. But you need to _acknowledge_ that and find ways to secure yourself knowing what's up. If you do, you will quickly realize you're living in one of the best places in the world. Stop arguing and crying about it, life was never a fair game. There's always a way - but you won't find it if all you see is black and grey.
This may sound like I'm already there, so let me assure you that I am not. I still struggle here, but not for long. The thing that changed within me at some point was the *understanding that I haven't found a way,* while many people have and are living nice. I stopped hating and blaming others and finally decided to focus on what more can "I" do. And the gears shifted, just like that.
Less crying, more figuring it out please.

Many years ago some of my family members found a story about 1000+ years ago history, king in Bosnia, Ban Kulin, my last name is Kulinich, so we thought it might be a fairy tale; during this trip some people in Bosnia recognized this name) Obala Bana Kulina is one of the main streets in Sarajevo. It is unfortunate that even after a quarter of a century, some Serbs still struggle to accept the reality of Kosovo’s independence. This attitude often seems to be more of a façade, rooted in deeply ingrained, unresolved historical traumas and nationalist narratives. The lack of reflection and self-criticism regarding their own past exacerbates the issue, as there is an absence of honest engagement with the events. Additionally, many people are still being deliberately bombarded with propaganda, which maintains old enemy images and unrealistic notions, instead of paving the way for dialogue and reconciliation. A sustainable future can only be achieved through a joint, realistic confrontation with the past and acceptance of the current situation.

I'm a foreigner that has been living in Belgrade for 8 years now, married a Serb and have a kid here, and I have an online business here, so thought I'd chime in with couple additions to this video for anyone thinking of relocating here...
    Pros:
You will have a great lifestyle IF you have money - as one of the entrepreneur guys said, if you have a business with clients outside of Serbia, your money goes VERY far here and you will have a very comfortable lifestlye.
No woke bullshit here - more traditional kind of culture and society. Guess it all depends on what you like but I personally prefer a more traditional culture over this woke degeneracy I see in the West these days. Here I can send my kid to school and I know she won't be getting brainwashed by some radical left wing lunatic.
VERY safe - compared to cities in Western Europe I've been to, Belgrade is super safe. I don't think I have ever once felt unsafe in the entire 8 years I've been here and that includes my time before I was married and staying out at pubs and splavs until 5 in the morning. Literally never had any issues.
Hospitality and social vibes - Serbs are probably the friendliest people I met in all my travels in Europe. You literally can go to kafana and just random people will buy you drinks if they hear you're a foreigner because you're a guest in their country (at least that was my experience). And social atmosphere here is very lively, people really value social connections, friends, that sort of thing.
    Cons:
Serbia is very tough if you work a typical 9-5 job here. Salaries here are pretty poor so just be aware if you come here, make sure you come here as an entrepreneur (which I suspect most people wathcing a channel like this would be) because salaries here are bad even for many people that work in professional fields.
It's CAN be crazy expensive - again this is relative. If you have an online biz with clients outside of Serbia, you don't really notice the costs of things. But if you work a typical 9-5 job here, shit is crazy expensive from rent to prices of food in a supermarket, petrol, etc.
Pollution in winter is atrocious in Belgrade. Be prepared for this if you come here that you're gonna be dealing with shocking air quality for probably 3 months at least.
Driving culture - I guess this one is also relative depending where you're coming from but for me, driving culture here is insane. I swear 90% of drivers here are utter lunatics, literally don't give a shit about basic road rules, don't want to stop for pedestrians, park literally wherever they feel like parking, or even respect basic driving courtesy.

That Belgrade and Serbia, which you are now praising, your country is not legally bombarding with ferro and depleted uranium bombs, the radiation of which has caused about 300,000 people
to get cancer and die. The aggression and bombing of Serbia lasted 78 days/24 hours a day. True, Serbs are the most hospitable people in Europe, but they don't forget.
The largest number of fighter planes were from Germany, the UK, the USA, and France. Until now, there has never been an apology to the Serbian people, you have never paid the Serbian people
the damage caused by the destruction of the infrastructure of Serbia, which your countries have committed, which is at least a trillion dollars.

Correct my understanding, because your viewpoint is common. Yugoslavia was killing and displacing Albanians living in Kosovo. These acts risks destabilazation of the area. Yugoslavia refused more than one diplomatic solution. Those were bad decisions. NATO bombing ultimately resolved the matter. Warfare is terible--for the people of Belgrade as well as the people of Kosovo. You tell the story as if Serbians were just peacefully going about their business and all of a sudden, without warning, these evil NATO nations just started dropping bombs. Ethnic Albanians could tell their own horror stories and air their grievances against Serbia. You want an apology? You should have accepted the diplomatic solutions presented to you. You dared NATO to act. Shouldn't you take a little responsibility for the debacle?

Bro, this channel is called "Nomad capitalist". The word capitalist comes from Latin "capita" meaning "heads". In ancient times a King was considered "rich" if he had a lot of servants working as employees for him and an army with a lot of men capable of fighting a war or to defend the country. The power of a King was calculated not only by the amount of weapons, vehicles, horses, food etc but also and specially by the amount of men he had at its disposition to use those weapons, vehicles and horses. So each year the wealth of a King was written in annual royal inventory books as "capital", meaning "amount of heads". In the same way a peasant will count his "capital" by the amount of "heads" of horses, cows or pigs, the King though will count his capital by the amount of "heads"of men serving him. This is how through time the word for "rich" became "capitalist". In other words, you are watching a channel for people who already have enough "capital" and when travel they do not have to worry about how to make money in the place where they arrive. This channel is not about "how to survive in Serbia". That topic is important but you have to go and find other channels for that kind of discussions. Have a nice day.
