The is s stunning. I adore the watercolor effect by itself but adding the gold to it just makes it perfection. I too love the little bit you added over the blue. The play of textures with the smooth white fondant, the blue water color and the shiny gold are just gorgeous
Beautiful! I just made your watercolour sea themed cake for my Dad's birthday :) Would you be able to do this technique with just buttercream frosting and lustre dust mixed with rose spirit and paint it on?
Hi, Rosie. Your watercolor cakes keep getting more beautiful by the second, just like you. What's your best tip for setting up a parade? Have a good day, Rosie.
Love this cake! Rosie…question..if this is refrigerated could the gel color “drip” when coming to room temp (moisture)? If so, how does one handle that if the cake is dropped off at venue? Thank you again
Love watching your video, if it not too much to ask could you make a video for your cake routine from bake to decorating? Just curious how your cake is moist and not crumbly when you crumbcoat and cover because everytime i bake and its time to crumbcoat my cake crumbles alot 😔 thank you again for your videos ❤❤
Hi Rosie, Thanks for posting this video 🥰🥰 it. I was wondering if I can just use water to the gel food color to paint ? I can’t buy rose water or vodka during pandemic
If you put the cake in the freezer, could you do this with just buttercream instead of fondant? I hate the way that fondant tastes! I may be in the minority there... haha
hi lovely! Yes you can :) but American buttercream without vegetable shortening added, just purely butter, icing sugar, milk and vanilla. Sometimes vegetable shortening is added, and the oil content in that is next level. The paint is repelled by the fat, and you end up with splotchy paint that doesn't seem to want to stick.
Hi hun, that is a good questions. I have never tried it personally, but I imagine the fat / oils from the chocolate and the cream might repel the paint, whereas fondant will absorb it. It's worth a try though! even if you do a little tester on baking paper with ganache that has had time to set :)
Hi hun, unfortunately that wouldn't work as well. Rosewater evaporates quickly, leaving behind a nice dark paint. Water takes much longer to dry on fondant, and the fondant can react and melt down if the moisture is there for too long. But white vinegar or lemon juice / extract can also do the trick if alcohol / spirit is the problem :)

Can I use regular water instead of rose water
Hi hun, unfortunately that wouldn't work as well. Rosewater evaporates quickly, leaving behind a nice dark paint. Water takes much longer to dry on fondant, and the fondant can react and melt down if the moisture is there for too long. But white vinegar or lemon juice / extract can also do the trick if alcohol / spirit is the problem :)
