One thing I think we are all forgetting. Yes wedges may be a tad more expensive than most irons - probably hitting us with a higher profit margin … BUT we ALL use our wedges way more than the rest of our irons. 👍. May be worth the extra $$ once we find the wedges that “call to us”. 🤷♂️
I’ve tried so many wedges that I’ve lost count. I always end up going back to my Mizuno’s. Love they way they feel and spin plus you can get them cheap at end of product cycle. Hard to beat 99.00 for a high quality forged wedge!
I now have three wedges, Cleveland Smart Soles. I prefer the wide soles. I have never gotten such goodness from any previous wedges. I bought all of them as trade in clubs. Saved a bundle. Average per club? $78 (US). A players or pro wedge? For this 16 handicap 65 year old? I refuse to spend a ton.
I love 4' bounce, it allows me to control how much I open the face and it is easy to lay the face down on it's back. I can usually hit a trapped pitch which will usually stop on the 3rd bounce from the range you tested from initially. The Calay did not seem to grip much at all on landing and I think the "pop" on the shot stopped in from trapping on the face and spinning. I was expecting it to come out at flag height and pitch on the green, a skip bounce forward and then stop dead like a Vokey with ProV1.
Even TAKOMO are now $800 Canadian dollars. As the DTC start to gain traction … they let it go to their heads … and slowly jack up the prices. That will push us (me at least) back to PING and TITELIST … Wilson? Cobra? Everyone is always squeezing the last penny out of the consumer. 😢
1) Performance is paramount for wedges looks shouldn’t matter because we can get used to that. 2) full faced grooves should be standard on all wedges 3) multiple bounce options are an absolute must have option for all degrees of wedges. Pigeon holing a certain degree of bounce per wedge limits not only the player but the market!
Is it really a fair comparison when you take a set of clubs and split the price and then a single club? Would it not be more accurate if you took the set of wedges and split on three? Then it's 71£ for a iron and 83 for a wedge?
I'm a 4, my 54 & 60 Cleveland rtx zipcore, 50 cobra mim tour!! (It's actually a 49 if being padantic) 50 is like an old school PW and I hit lots of full shots with it, (where land angle is as important as spin) so why am I playing a blade for those shots when I can get more forgiveness. Strongly advocate a progressive set of wedges just like guys do with a full bag...forgiving long irons and less forgiving shorter irons.
When I think of wedges, it's Mizuno, Cleveland and Vokey in that order. But when it actually comes to buying a set of 3, price plays a huge part, eliminating most of the major brands. What's left is Cleveland, Cobra, Wilson and then the direct-to -consumer brands. No to Caley from me.
You’ve said this on another video, haha just don’t watch them if you don’t like them. I didn’t really ask for criticism on every video, if you don’t like it no problem 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Have a great rest of your weekend.

I use 56 & 60 & 64 Cleveland CB2. Some say Kirkland three pack is a fine wedge set! I like the full face! Thanks

4 degrees of bounce on a 50 wedge seems too little.

Wilson too getting more expensive. It's a shame

@@morganWirf13 this is a great point! I think what I’m trying to say that the price of a wedge now is more in line with the rest of the market

The 50° popped up as you hit it higher on the face, due to low bounce...and if you want a spinner, who chooses the 50°?
Im still playing my 2014 Cobra AMP Irons and wedges Simply can not see why anyone but a single handicapper would spend up on expensive wedges
I try and base everything on trade-in value I don’t want to spend that much for a wedge that when I get ready to trade it, it will only let me $10-$20

An advert for Calet wedges then.
Nope!
Maltby wedges $50 USD. As good as anything!
Smithworks wedges are better looking and have more head options than Caley. Oh and the Miura's are absolutely awesome........
I have 58,54,50 PXG Sugar Daddy 2 0311 Milled wedges with KBS Graphite shafts . Really nice feel.
I didn’t feel the difference between sugar daddy and vokey except the weight of my wallet
GLARE

Tacoma is doing the same thing almost if you can get a whole set for 500 bucks. The wedge should be about 65 bucks each.
Can't see sh!t because of the glare on film.
Priced themselves to high, cost conscious golfers will buy previous generations of new equipment for less or buy used.Rich people wont buy dtc.
We are getting totally ripped off on all clubs for the regular golfers.
There is better places to buy clubs from on the internet.
Where do you think from ?
