And how it's built. If something goes wrong or a change needs to be made, you know exactly where everything is.
So in the past you’ve been paying property taxes on raw land instead of a single house dwelling with tons of additional buildings and all sorts of additions that would have increased your property value? If Idaho has property taxes ie building permits etc. will the state and county come back at you for back taxes to include the increase value of the property now for the last 2 years? I hope not!

So basically it is now legally a house? Meanwhile, on the ranch....
Recipe for carrot salad. First wash the carrots thoroughly and top then. I found a stiff hand brush cleans them faster than scraping with a paring knife or peeling. Run them thru a food processor until they are very fine. This is important unless you enjoy doing a lot of chewing. Mix your packages of orange gelatin (lime or other flavors will work). More is better than less and let it set up in the fridge. When ready, add the grated carrots (cooled in the fridge) and chunk or crushed cooled canned pineapple. Mix everything in the jello and cool some more. It is ready to eat. It can be used as a vegetable, a dessert, or as a snack. People, kids especially, who are not fond of cooked carrots, will generally eat the salad and is a good way of using up a lot of fresh carrots. Experience and your preferences will determine the amounts and ratio of the ingredients. I like mine heavy with pineapple and jello. You can probably find references for the salad online.

I think my dad used the same recipe. It is Creosote and diesel fuel .
We would soak them for 2 week in that brine. When we took them out .The last thing we did befor putting them in the ground was slap a bunch of tar on the end of the post.

If you have the funds, I would suggest a Halverson Wood Processor for your skid steer. Captain Kleeman just did a recap of one he has. Pick up a log, cut it into lengths and split it all from the comfort of your cab.
Dude, with all due respect, your extension ladder placed at such an angle on wet concrete- you're taking your life in your own hands. I did same, fell and my knees were never the same. Use scaffolding. Cheers!
State codes and County codes can be tricky, especially when it comes to permits. The county I live in in Wisconsin is dealing with ACUs(Accessory Dwelling Units) or space for Grandma or Grandpa, or a son or daughter with some kind of mental problems such as a learning deficiency , where this person can do special everyday living functions but needs monitoring.THis changes plumbing codes, electrical, and the list goes on.

Congratulation on the COO. I've gotta say that your posts remind me of my roots given I spent my summers as a kid working with my uncle on the family farm. I remember how the most relaxed time of the week was on Sunday nights when my Ant would cook a huge meal for the family and they we would all watch the weekly Disney Special followed by Wild Kingdome. Now I look forward to your weekly posts as my Sunday Evening Entertainment and I hope these keep coming for a good long time. We also as a Family Watched Marlin Perkins Wild Kingdom & Jacques Cousteau‘s Under Sea World, The Walton’s, Andy Griffith’s Mayberry, Leave it to Beaver, and many other good clean wholesome family shows! From the 1950’s before I was born all way through the 1980’s there was some great family shows made that we all used to watch. Good shows that taught right from wrong and shunned the evil & wrong doing.
But since the late 80’s & early 1990’s up until present Time Television shows have gotten horrible & unfit to watch even for Adults, much more so for children. It’s a shame they don’t make good clean descent shows with morals, dignity, respect & humility like that anymore. That’s just the Signs of the Times that Good people have not taken a stand against Evil, unrighteousness & Immortality. Then it has taken the place of Good and Righteousness, Jesus Christ said in the New Testament this would take place before his second coming to deliver his people from such a Evil world. The Father God destroyed the earth by Flood when the world got so wicked in Noah’s Days. God then Destroyed the city of Sodom & Gomorrah with Fire and brimstone for their wickedness and sexual immorality. Then the 3rd Time it is Written when the Northern Armies of The world Gang up on Israel who’s Gods chosen people that God will destroy them all.
The Bible says there will be the battle of Armageddon there where God will destroy all those armies and the entire valley will be running to the horse’s bridal with Blood when God destroys them. Looks like Israel is Under attack by Hamas yet again & being bombed again as we speak. This has been going on for several days now. We need to keep a close eye on this if Russia and China & the Northern armies gang up on Israel it is biblical prophecy that God will destroy many many millions of people in the Valley which will be the battle of Armageddon. Which will spark the second Coming of Jesus Christ to throw all the wicked into the lake of fire. All this Evil happening to Israel in the past has been kept under control when America was dominated with Christianity & standing up for Israel. But evil & unrighteousness & immortality has taken Over our beloved land of the USA and it’s gonna cause Gods judgement upon us! If we as a nation do not repent and get back to serving God and not Satan.
Hollywood as well as evil politicians have brought an evil into our country that could get us destroyed even before God destroys the armies of the North that attack Israel. Because there’s a passage in the Bible that don’t say the USA but in biblical times the USA wasn’t the USA & it was just a unknown land then. But this passage in the Bible must be speaking of the USA. Because everyone knows us from Lady liberty & call us a Her because of the Statue of Liberty. But the Biblical passage says this. It talks about the Whore of The Earth the beautiful shining City on the hill & her nation and all her people being destroyed by fire as the people of the world cried for her in disbelief because the world ate of her food & all of her delicacies, the world was captivated by her and also fornicated in her sexual immortalities but it was no more & the whole thing was in flames and gone & people all over the world weaped for her in disbelief.
The Best I can remember the biblical passage said the Nation called The Whore of the earth burned up & was gone in an hour ! It don’t say God destroys it either so the only thing that can do that is nuclear weapons. But God does say in the Bible that any country who’s land is falling in despair into sin & has lost its blessings from God, he said this: Any Land who will repent and call upon me and confess your sins and ask for forgiveness & turn from your wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven & restore you and heal your land (End Quote).
America is in big trouble and we need to turn back to God & the lord Jesus or otherwise our country will not survive this wickedness. God can and will stop us from being destroyed by our enemies if we only Make God the God of our land again. 🙏🏼 God Please Forgive us & Please Bless America again & please have mercy upon our wickedness . Amen.

Make your own bunk beds. 2x4’s and plywood to lay the mattress on. Just buy mattresses. Mattresses in a box you order from overstock work pretty well.

We made bunk beds from 2x4 and 1\2 inch plywood including laders. Bunk house sleeps 10. We have been using them for 15 years. 👍👍

Looking at the opening, I saw that line of rocks in front of the porch and realized that if they weren’t there, you could easily plow away the snow that comes off the roof. Remember last year?
The only final Inspection on the house we built 8 years ago was electrical. I was never issued a CO and we have a mortgage. In general, the inspections we had were septic, rough plumbing, rough electric and final Electric. The mortgage company did a survey to ensure we were within the boundaries and not encroaching on the easement. The rough plumbing was only a visual inspection. It would have failed a pressure test. Recently I had a back up in the kitchen island sink. When I tried to force water through it went over the Bow vent and leaked out a poorly fitted and glued joint in the vent line. When I went to repair it, I cut the line above another elbow and the whole section of pipe fell off. Upon further inspection, the waste line from the island is over 10' and only has 3/4" drop. I"ll be totally redoing that line.

The Shop Bedrooms & Bath should have been drywalled months ago before completing the rest of the Shop. And then you could move between completing the Shop and outside work .. at your leisure & what the weather allowed.

If I have learned anything about Heath I'm the years of watching this channel, it's that this is going to be more successful than he thought. And in a year we are going to watch him put up New bigger fencing.

Please tell me you aren’t using unvented propane heaters in bedrooms. Unvented heaters aren’t safe to use while sleeping. Add the fact that you did decent air sealing and you have a recipe for disaster.
You would be far better off using air source heat pumps in the bedroom. Before you completely disregard the idea, they will actually use less propane than the propane heaters even if they make your genset run more in the winter.
Compared to properly vented propane wall furnaces, air source heat pumps will actually cost about the same.
Plus, you could actually put solar panels on the shop in the future to make up for it.
It really looks nice with the leaves changing colors but will be gliomas when they all fall off ofcoarse!
One more project for the back side of the house, another singal story master beadroom with full bathroom with a walk in tub for when you are 40 to 50 years older .

I gotta say, I lived in a farmhouse as a child. The words corrugated metal were never mentioned except for out buildings that were rarely entered. Don’t know where that factors into a farmhouse decoration.

I love the fall colors of the mountains in Idaho. Are you already dreading the snow? I would be if I lived in Idaho! We lived in Kansas for 4 years. After the first winter I would make myself all stressed out dreading winter coming. In rural Texas I don't think we need inspections. In town you do but not in the country.

I got stung by a yellow jacket on the back of my neck once while mowing under an apple tree. Because of all the nerves there, it was especially painful. And I had to attend awake for my uncle that same day. The pain lasted all day.

Congratulations on the CO for the house. Wow, ten years there. You have accomplished many of your dreams and wants over the years. It seems though you haven't got all of your priorities in the right order. You mentioned that the inspector couldn't get there because the road in was washed out, flooded, or the mud was impassable. That road hasn't changed in the ten years you started building. Seems like all the machines you have acquired over the years, you have not acquired a small used 6-10 yard dump truck and a small dozer, as you (had) have a excavator to dig out the hill and fill in the road way so the water drains properly and you don't have a linear pig pen going to the highway. Think your next project should include road building.
