@redpoppyranch
I passed my plumbing inspection in the shop. Picked a 1969 f250 that I'm going to turn into a 4x4 diesel. The high fence pen is up and nearly finished.

I must say how grateful I am to have found this channel 🙏 In 2016 I lost my son and my mind. You and your beautiful family have helped me in so many ways that you hopefully will never understand 🙏 😢 I started watching while you were building the house and because of you I found Bo the Drifter, Lumnah Acres, Maple Mountain Ranch and a very nice man, CC Rider who is a subscriber. Hard to put into words how I feel so I will just say Thank You 🙏 ❤
So sorry for your loss. ❤️❤️
Thank you for your positive support! We appreciate you!
❤️
❤
I did something similar many years ago when I had a loss. I watched "Good Neighbors," a British comedy about a couple who decided to become self-sufficient and how it affected their neighbors. I learned to cope. God be with you.🕊
Heath says of the latest truck he’ll “Never get rid of!” LOL. Cedar must be happy she’s not a truck!
He knows I’m not replaceable! 😂😁
@@RedPoppyRanch
Touche, dear lady! 😂😅😂
I think Heath is OBSESSED with those old trucks - how many does he now have on RPR?
The “never get rid of truck”…. Until the following summer. 😊
I shook my head and said you’ve said that many times before so far!
You dont have your firewood in. You have not started on the rock wall where you had the mud slode lasr year. You have perimeter fencing to do.
Yet you are working on this high fence.
I guess i dont understand.
Dedicated plow truck that I'll never get rid of...hahaha 😅
Yes how many has he had now 5 or 6.why don't he just get one that works.Ha!
New plow truck coming next season!
I was thinking the same thing… how many times have we heard this? Hahaha. Heath, it’s in your nature to buy and sell, so no need to apologize… except for the skid and mini-ex, don’t get rid of those…..
I was going to comment, "last plow truck"? I dont believe you but I'm here for the transformation!😂
Question... What is the Purpose of having deer on your land ?
I don't think I heard why in others video.
I've been watching since you poured the foundation for what was going to be your house that turned into the garage/barn/guest quarters. You remind me so much of my late husband, he was a type A like you, always working, always building. He's gone now, finally at rest, so now I get to watch you accomplish your dreams and goals.
Those who like the video before watching it gather here.
I’m not sure I know what you mean.
@justsilman the love of everything Red Poppy Ranch
The number of times I have heard you say "This is going to be our dedicated plow truck" When you bring in a 50 or 40-year-old car and it barely lasts a year, before you bring in another decades-old relic to make it a plow truck, I feel like buying a new vehicle that was built to plow would much more serve your family, their safety, and your needs. It is immensely frustrating seeing this circle repeat every year, it feels like 0 progress has been made about this forever, it is always breaking trucks down and building them together, but there seems to be no end-line in sight ever... It's probably just for content but for me, it's very frustrating that this repeats itself every year.
Great video! Way to go and congratulations on the new deer investment and amazing truck!
We still got a bit of time before ❄️
~Ola
We are thoroughly enjoying the sunshine!
Gotta love neighbors talking on youtube 😊
It’s going to snow Wednesday and Thursday up there!
Nice Job!
But what happened to the goats. Will they come back, or will it only be deer from now on?
Hi Heath Did I miss it?....the point of having these deer? Will you sell them for meat or what? I'm confused. Someone clue me in...... You are one hard working man that is for sure. Look forward to your videos
Hi Heath and Cedar,
I've been following your journey for years. To see how far RPR has come along. Wow! I'm touched that you gave an open invite to the person retiring. May you become friends and enjoy the dear. They are beautiful! Thanks for touching on "Fallow's" meaning.
I was able to retire on SS when Covid hit, it was a blessing but a whole new way of life. Getting into new routines has its challenges. There are always going to bumps along our journeys but if we keep the love of God in our hearts; sometimes God will interrupt our plans but we know it will be okay.
Snow plows are nice to have and I get it, However if I owned a good skid steer that has the required hydro "pressure/volume" I would get a snow blower and pitch snow a distance rather than pile it up.
I've been here since before the first brush and tree clean up before you could build anything. I have enjoyed all you have accomplished.
Great Buy on the 69 F250. My 1968 F250 Camper Special, My Brother, and I found we rebuilt the 390 engine in 1988. We found it in a field with a 🌳 tree growing into the cab. 😅😂We cut down the tree and loaded it up. It was Green and white also. My brother owned a Black 1970 4x4 Posatrac Differentials it would go anywhere . Unstoppable 😊
You srill have perimeter fenving you need to get done.
Sorry if I'm slow but I guess this means you have given up on goats? And the deer are going to take their role of keeping the brush down? I will miss the little kids in the spring but baby deer will be fun, too. Looking good around Red Poppy Ranch!
"that i'll never get rid of" i think we've all heard that before, lol.good one Heath but i'm one to talk i'm exactly the same way.
Heath, incredible work, as always. May I ask the purpose of the deer? In self sufficiency what role, meat I assume. Or is it just for brush clearing? They that much more effective than goats? I didn’t hear you mention. I assume they have some importance for all that work and the change in aesthetic of your front fence line. Also curious if you have plans for any greenhouse/high tunnel? Love to watch you work, keep up the good work!
I wondered too, that there was no mention of the goats in today's video - are they still to come or have they been superseded by the Fallow Deer? Will the deer always be confined to the 8 foot fenced area of RPR?
I sincerely hope that the goats are eventually returned, because in my opinion, they were very much a good part of RPR!
What happened to the "once in a lifetime" "forever" "dedicated" plow truck we built about this time last year??
Maybe they are domesticated enough that they won't do it: but a deer can leap that fence with ease. I've seen a deer leap across a two lane highway with WIDE shoulders on both sides- in a full sprint. He leaped all the way across the entire road and was high enough to have leaped over that fence. It's actually amazing how well they can jump.
Keep cutting Cedar's trees down. She's gonna kick your butt. 😄
Where are all the Goats? I have not seen the goats lately. I hope they ae doing well. Love the Deers.
Several videos back Heath said that they had sold all the goats
Did they sell them? I thought they had loaned them to his son-inlaw for his goat grazing business. @@ozman28
They went to work for the council , weeding ,
son in laws business
Thank you. I did not know that.@@ozman28
Glad to see they are being used for weeding.@@Bernie5172
My two favorite Heathisms: "daily driver" and "designated plow truck," both which mean you're probably not long for this world... meanwhile Cedar's jeep goes to town. Great video !:
The sharp corner at the bottom of the deer pen is going to cause you endless heartache. A deer will panic if it goes in there head first - it will see fence on both sides of its head and panic and be too stupid to back out. Put a rounded piece of fencing in there so the deer makes a kind of short circle instead of sticking its nose into the corner.
I am thankful for RPR. It helps to know there are good people despite what you see in the news lately. You and the family always have a positive impact every video, Heath.
Gotta watch the ZF-5 plowing snow - it has issues losing reverse (my company has lost 3 - all the same issue). You might get lucky because you aren’t back-and-forth plowing like a commercial (parking lots) plow has, but beware. A Ford transmission factory technical rep told me the parts are made so that reverse is used at a ratio of 500to1. Meaning normal driving you shift the other speeds nearly 500 times for every one shift to reverse. A dedicated plow truck does maybe 30-1 shifts when it’s working.
I appreciate your work ethic and your commentary. I'm glad that you are able to live your dream and have a family to share it all with. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Can't wait to see the new animals. Blessings brother to you and your family. Praying for your safety, strength, health, wisdom, peace and success in His Holy Name. ☝️🙏🙌💪🇺🇸🤠🎯❤️
Man these videos are getting good. Ive literally watched from the very beginning. Its crazy how much has been built and has changed. Keep up the awesome work. I love watching these videos cause i live in las vegas and nothing is like this in a big city. It would be awesome to own animals like this. 👍 cant wait to see the deer in the new pen
Fallow Deer = Meat for humans.
If your phone does not work everyplace, you should get a Satellite Phone.
I've never missed a vidclip since the early days. You've never let me down. This is something unexpected, and I look foward to learning more about all of this.
H a ha ha! I bought a special drain plug kit and installed it at the first pipe piece going out my sewer line. Clean and easy drain! No mess! Worth every dime!
Yes, it continues to be a frightful concern.
Heath there is a nature reserve for all kinds of deer in elders, Iowa so many different kinds n species there just gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love it when all hands on deck start stacking the firewood outside your shop area!!! So much going all at all times!!❤
I’ve never seen anybody get up from a sitting position that fast in my life!!😂😂😂
Now the latest plow truck is something he’ll never get rid of. I’m making copies of this video and putting them in the vault with my other favorite, “I looked a long time for this Ford tractor and now she’s never going anywhere!”
No matter what I'm doing on Sunday evening, I stop and watch Heath's video as soon as it's up. Heath and his family bring me peace, hope for the future, and faith that, although the messages of the media often may suggest otherwise, the world is full of good people, and that, indeed, the good people far outnumber the scoundrels and the knaves.
And the cads!
See the problem is them Ford's... Get a C20 and you'll be a happy camper.
I laughed when you said, thank goodness that was clean water. At my old house in the basement. Apparently they didn’t glue the pipes exiting the house in the basement and on the septic tank tube slid and blocked itself off. It all filled up with water and the pipe collapsed and dumped between 50 and 100 gallons in the basement. Definitely, not a fun weekend. 😂
Plow truck "I will never get rid of"?????
Will work on all winter?😊
I love this channel, love your lifestyle. Honest question: Will you breed the deer for the meat? For your family or to sell? My Grandfather always said “we are not feeding an animal unless they work for me”. If this country can last 14 more months I think we can make it. I’m hopeful for a new leader that can think.
out of curiosity, why deer and not goats? goats = milk + cheese + meat + money from sale of these things. And they will clear your hill just as fine. Also I don't think there will be much code for a goat pen
I love the drone shots. It's fantastic to see how well the new property has been blended into the old one. They're just about seamless now.
I'm surprised that you dont have a short wave radio to cary around. That way you can keep in touch with the house, no matter where you are on the property.
I don't think I've seen you move that fast before!! Firewood, gates and shelters. God bless and protect.
maybe get firewood done in May next year.
I can't believe how much you've done to the property this year. Amazing stuff!
MY FAVORITE IDAHO OFF GRID RUclips FAMILY!
😁👍🏼
Liked the music used in the background.
May they be/stay healthy. We live in central Wi. Our next store neighbor had CWD. loss their whole herd. & because of this we can not bait for 3 yrs. The DNR. gave them $ for each + they had insurance...
Great idea for wood cutting. It really is amazing how having the right equipment can make a tedious job less tedious.
Looking forward to the truck de-construction and re-construction project.
You commented that you do not interact as much now as previously. Well, your present interaction is to the point and informative. Much better than pointless chatter (which I don't recall you guilty of). What you are doing is interesting and informative, and mostly is the sort of activity I would like to be involved in. No way for me to help you, though. I am way too old, and way too far away (thousands of miles) in the South Pacific. Wishing you well, and good health, in your ventures.
@1:24 lol hahahah Have you ever watched someone doing something and think, "That's not going to end well".... Well It happened! hahahah Sorry to laugh but that made my day, I've been there too!
"The designated plow truck I never get rid of."
Is there anyone who has followed this channel that believes that?
There is NO chance he has that truck over 18 months and I believe I am being generous with that.
How many pieces of "forever" equipment has he had and they are all gone?
Man, you're quick to get a boot in that pipe
Just a small observation; You have a small leak in the hydraulic of the little digger, the boom was sagging in the time-frame clip cutting firewood.
hahaha that was great loved it. I would of been completely soaked. At least you were pretty calm. love your vids.
I so enjoy my Sunday evenings watching your channel! Thank you for the relaxing content and beautiful scenery!
The fencing is a lot of work, but it’s worth doing right. It looks great. Can’t wait to see the new deer arriving. 🦌🦌Love watching your videos Heath. 😉👍🏻
Hey Heath with God’s blessings you will and has always been excellent in the past and I just love the Red Poppy Ranch! 👏👏👏👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯🙏🙏🙏
You forgot to mention fallow deer are also very tasty 😂😂😂 you work like a trojan . Keep up the good work. Looking forward to the diesel truck build 👍👍
While everyone is commenting about the deer or the truck then I can’t help but wonder about the retaining wall behind the house? 🤔😌 Thank you!
Are these deer for food or for pets?
There is a guy here in Upton Wyoming that has a body shop and his favorite thing is finding old ford's and putting the body on modern drive trains from newer trucks which the bodies where totaled ,then paint them and make them look like new
great vid, as always. how much more firewood for the winter is needed?
I'm looking forward to the start of the yearly plow truck project, as they get better every year. I'd bet next years is going to be awesome, too.
I was yelling off the top of my lungs for you not to do it because for some reason I saw that happening when you sat down! 😅. I’m glad it was clean water too!!!!
Spray all that wood and drywall with a mold enzyme treatment before you close it up, just thinking out loud.
There is a cold front and snow coming your way this or next week. Im sure you already know this. But in case you didnt know, there it is.
Been with you since you were building the house. Never miss an episode. It's a Sunday evening ritual. Looking forward to the deer and the truck. Y'all are doing a great job. Thanks for the content.
What will the Deer be used for ?
Wow. This guy can seriously waste money. Must have some to burn
For those asking, there is a market for fallow deer meat. Some folks like venison and while America has millions of whitetail deer running around and they have reached the point of being pests in many places, you can’t sell their meat commercially. Thus why folks raise non-native deer for the exotic meet market. I don’t know if it’s really commercially viable to do so, but I know that there are few large herds near me in Central Texas. They raise several different varieties.
Yeah, our government's real bright, aren't they?!
Thanks for your time making the video watching from Reno NV
With that much fence to put up, a battery power staple driver would have speeded the install up for you.
to empty it without getting soaked. *chuckle* the best laid plans of mice and men....
I still don’t understand what the market or business is for fallow deer? Meat? Hunting clubs?
I seriously doubt they’re be eating the deer or using them for hunting. My guess is they’ll just remain in the pen, and eventually Heath will build a high fence around the property so they can graze throughout the property. I suspect as new births happen, he’ll start selling them, possibly for food or money. Of course, with the direction the country’s heading, he may find himself raising them for food. Deer, chickens, maybe rabbits, a couple pigs, a milk cow, a couple pigs and a vegetable and fruit garden in a greenhouse would certainly allow you to be self sufficient and eat very well. I’m not a fan of game meat, but I’ve had some delicious venison chili and breakfast sausage. And of course rabbit tastes like chicken.
@@951WoodworkDesigns-bx4kn Thank you for the explanation. Makes sense. I also did some research and they shed their antlers each year and the European Fallow deer antlers are valuable and have a market.
You have to build a Barn for your new Residents before you work on either of the two Ford Trucks.
The '69 looks to be in pretty good shape, for its age and region. I'm working on a '67 F250 SuperCab 4×4 swap to a 7.3 too. I love the old trucks, have had them for awhile, mostly with the 300 six in them and 3 speeds...lol 😂😅 Love the deer pen, looks great! Love ya'll ❤
As soon as I saw the chainsaw come out I was thinking oh oh Cedar isn't going to be happy!
May God bless you all the name of Jesus Christ Amen
Love you all too❤
Nice work again on your fence, can't wait to see all the goats again
You need two shelters for the Animals one for the sick and a larger one down below.
Wow you bought a herd of 🦌 deer, how beautiful are they. Now I am jealous. 😂 Your fence looks great. And your firewood looks amZING ! 👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍💙🩷👍
Oh no , another money pit of a dream plow truck that will be gone in a year. 🙄🕳
it’s a car the family can’t survive without, his favorite car he has looking for in years, no more new cars before next year 😊
Why do people care? You do you.
How rude. Jealous much?
WTH do you care on how he spends his money?
The Karens are out , LOL .
Wow, jealous? Or just in a bad mood. Let the man do what he likes.
Man, did you see how fast Heath jumped up?? That boy is still pretty spry after all the building, repairing, toting and carrying and climbing and digging and fence building etc he has done for how many years now? Wow.
You lost your leaves this lSt week.
In Ohio we atill have our foliage.
Been with you long before you had the walls up on your beautiful home, and I’m sticking with you and “La Heffa” for the duration. And thank you Heath for keeping the mini excavator and not selling it as you have so many of your tools. Please keep it and the skid steer for many years to come- they will help you as you get on in life.
It's Sunday! I look forward to your videos all week.
You are so blessed to be able to do what you love.
I love your home. You work so hard. Did you get rid of all your goats?
If that was oil you would have struck it rich!!!😅
I have never laughed so hard in my life. Thanks, we all needed that.
Your land is gorgeous this time of year. Best wishes on your deer! I’m sure they’ll love all that Red Poppy Ranch has to offer.
Oh DEER! Hello Red Poppy !!
😂❤
He won’t answer you!
One man living his dream - I don’t have to understand it - just watch and learn.
Had that test ball mishap happen to me on a 8” storm water line. 🤣🤣🤣
Get the firewood done, deer make good eating as well...!
I had a '71 F250 w/ 360CDI. Looks like you got the ranger which has the dual tanks. Sweet!
Thank you Cedar and Heath for staying true to your cause, persevering and sharing such a beautiful family life story, in real time.
