@@ItsyBitsyBuild I would also like to ask if you have ever cut balsa wood with the Deep Cut Blade. If so, how did it go? Since it can cut harder material, did it work as well or better/worse? Thank you!!
@@eddaviii9154 I haven't personally but I'd imagine the wood would need to be thinner than 1mm due to the length of the deep point blade compared to the knife blade.
I also thought I could skip laser cutting, haha! Thanks for the tip to get more intricate cuts. I'm hoping to make inch scale dollhouses so based on this video I think a good strategy will be to cut chipboard walls and floors, then wood slats for flooring, paneling, molding, and siding.

Hey there fellow Aussie, it has been a really long time since I bought them but I think I got some from Amazon and others from craft online. I also tend to pick the cardboard backing off the kmart cardstock and use that as well. Hope that helps, thanks for supporting my work ☺
Hi, I just came across this video which you posted a year ago on Wood Cutting & Knife Blade. I have a couple questions I hope you may be able help me with. My first questions is which Cricut is better? The Cricut Maker or Cricut Maker 3. Second question how thick of Polystyrene Sheets sheets can a Cricut Maker cut?? Thank you for posting this most informative video. Awaiting your response. 🙂
Hi Sal, you might want to take a look at my Cricut Maker vs. Maker 3 comparison video available here ruclips.net/video/utUw69Bw-zg/видео.html The maximum thickness the Cricut can cut is 2.4mm thick. If these sheets are straight polystyrene without any additional structure, like the ones you get in shipping boxes, its likely to break when you attempt to remove it from the mat and the small polystyrene balls it produces when cut may get caught in the machine. If you're referring to something like foam board which has some structure to it then this should be fine provided the plastic isn't too dense. I've never personally cut either so it would be a bit of trial and error. I hope this helps :)
Hi. Thanks for taking the time to help us newbies out. As a fellow Aussie, I was wondering where you purchase the Cricut basswood from, now that the USPS isn’t shipping to Australia? Is there a UK site? Thanks

My Cricut Maker won’t even cut 1/32 inch balsa wood with my knife blade. I have been troubleshooting for days to no avail. Where do you purchase the contact sheet for the detail cuts? I’ve never used it, so I’m not familiar with what to look for exactly.
You can use whatever clear contact or vinyl you like.
what contact film did you use?
You can use any clear contact or vinyl. It's more about keeping the shape intact while it cuts.
