Hey i liked your video! im from the netherlands and give you some context about the songs meaning. Its about how you can never run away from pain. No matter where you go. (Hence going to the different countries) as borders are but a fictional concept of the human mind. It doesnt matter whether ur eating escargots in france or fish n chips in england. At the end of the day you carry the pain of loss with you. The burning house represents going full circle. Returning to the place of origin. And let it all burn a.k.a learning to let go of the past. Only then you will be truelly set free and the world and life becomes "borderless". Hope this clarifies the meaning of the song ;)
'A fake song to make fun of europe'? Heck no, you misunderstood, my man! This is an ode to Europe and his parents (who both died when he was young). Ducth happy hardcore gold. Dont think, just let it all out and go completely mental whenever you listen to it. After we can all go back to being boring. Letsgooooo Europe!!
Amazing song, there are many layers in the song, he travels through Europe while missing his dad. In the end he sings to his dad, who died. He always wanted to sing at Eurovision (he always watched TV with his dad) and he was telling his dad "I am here at Eurovision finally, I listened to you"
It's the message that he went on, despite his grief, to live the lesson his dad told him: "in the end we're all humans, and there are no borders in the world, just lines drawn on maps. If you can live in your mind without the borders, imagination can take you anywhere you want. That's the lesson his dad told him. ❤
He's an orphan who's parents once told him that life has no boundaries. 'So go get ' m boy' . That's what he did, and by this song he tells his parents. 'Look dad, I did it. Thanks. I've overcome my grief. And I go on.' It is a verry sincere song. Actualy.

Joost Klein dedicated this song to his father, who died when he was 12 years old due to cancer. His dad taught him that the world has no actual boundaries. His mother died a year later, when he was 13, due to cardiac arrest. Before his dad passed, Joost was already writing all kinds of stuff and promised one day he was going to go to Eurovision. He has gone through so many challenges in life, and it is a true inspiration to see how he deals with them.
Since you mentioned you enjoyed the Netherlands’ 2022 entry De Diepte , I would recommend watching the Europapa video again and check out who is sat next to Joost at the table. Just for laughs :)
@EuroSoundscape at the end of the song Joost says that it doesn't matter where you come from we're all people and that his dad told him there are no limits -like no borders- if you want to achieve anything. To think out of the box. He says he misses his dad en ends with 'I listened to you' (to his dad).
His father died when he was 12 years old. His mother died a year later. His father told him that there are no borders. But wherever you are: the pain of missing loved ones always stays...😢
You don't know that the Netherlands being visited by many Asians every year do you? 😂 That's why they are in the clip. And you really have to read the back story over and over again😉
His father died but he said to him not to think in borders cause they are not really there , not in your mind not in real live if you look at the world 🌎 from afar … so live your live to the full … it’s not a joke at all and the only thing you could say is that this music it’s very Dutch the dance style from the 90 s was called hakken very Dutch … the dj Paul elstack composed the music he was very popular dj in the 90 s … Joost is besites a singer also actor and does poetry art. And very well know on festivals were he performs to big crowds … hope you got the fire part cause there he says to his father dad you told me this lesson for live and I have listened….
In my opinion the political side of the song is trying to tell people what a great continent we have made and that we should be proud of that. Furthermore we have to watch out that we dont let it burn down because its on fire right now.
I meaaan, quick correction here, why would there be no point in countries outside of the EU (but being inside the continent of Europe) being in Eurovision? Eurovision is about the continent of Europe (and sadly, some countries that should be banned because geographically, they are not part of it, like Israel) but nothing wrong with European nations joining. The EU and Europe are 2 seperate things, I mean after all, Switserland started this competition and they're not part of the EU but DEFINITELY a part of Europe. Like all of our brothers that are not part of the EU, we are all, Europe.
I like your review, well done. But I think the message is about the fact that national boundaries and frontiers are wrong. He is celebrating Europe in favour of nationalist sentiments. And also maybe he compares the loss of his parents to the loss that people feel when they see their national culture being diluted in a European culture, but I think his message towards it is a positive one, in that every generation we get closer together.
So first, you are reading his life story and then, when the song begins, you start with "this is a freak song"?? Some people just shouldn't be on RUclips reacting on video's. Sjeezzzz...
Netherlands... go go go!
Hugs from Italy!

As an italian I loved this song.

Maybe watch it with subtitles because it’s amazing
Very good to show the last Dutch entries !! But I missed our winner Duncan Lawrence.
Turn on your subtitles dude.
The legendary DJ Paul Elstak also worked on this song, hence the great happy hardcore part!

Maybe just maybe you have to watch the lyrics of this song dude before you comment
His parents died when he was young!! and his father said to him there are borders but don’t let the borders stop you who you want to be or go

Malaysia New Song Before Trending🔥
Steady gang - ( 周星翅Chou xing chi )mv👍🏻👍🏻
if you know his background and read the lyrics you know what he want to say
It’s not a song about Europe. It’s a sad songs about loss masquerading as a happy song.
Maybe you could put on the translation....
Next time you review a song that's not in your language or English, maybe turn subtitles on?
Euro pa pa. Papa is Dutch for dad/father.its a reference
In my opinion the political side of the song is trying to tell people what a great continent we have made and that we should be proud of that. Furthermore we have to watch out that we dont let it burn down because its on fire right now.
well its a sad song covered in happy and not making fun of Europe, he finds this the continent without borders
To understand the song i would say set your lyrics on
Dammit, I hoped to see a Spanish persons reaction to the Paella dissing line.
use the subtitle option, it would take away a lot of your questions

maybe have the lyrics present when you watch a video... looks like your'e missing the point of this (in basic) tragic video...

Try to understand his life and the lyrics
Atleast do a lil research into who these ppl are
