From the Netherlands here! Tysm for you reaction, I needed a positive one so bad. Joost Is not really appreciated with the older peeps here so a lot of negativity in the news and online from them, but so happy to see how people across Europe react so well
It’s so fun and so good! Be proud! Love from Italy❤️🇮🇹
you all can be proud of joost! greetings from 🇪🇸🫶🏻
To be honest people here were even hating on Duncan when his song came out lol.
Joost will introduce a new generation to Eurovision because of this here in the Netherlands and i'm excited for it. I also feel i'm too old to follow whatever Joost is doing (voel me echt oud), but his energy and representation in everything he does is undeniable. Let the older people whine all they want. This is awesome. And for me with Paul Elstak nostalgic as hell
Vast majority loves it. It's fun, emotional, many Dutch elements for once, it's great. Who cares about old people give me a break 😂. We will vote for it, not Dutch old people. Even if it doesn't qualify (it will), it will make lots of people happy and smile. That's all what it is about imo.
Joost Klein is Groot! He dedicated this song to his father who died when he was 12 years old. His dad taught him that the world has no true boundaries. His mother died when he was 13. He is a HUGE inspiration to young folks, he is such a legend. The world needs more people like Joost. He has gone through so many challenges in life it is a true inspiration to see how he deals with it. Joost Klein is Groot! And I am 40 plus so it is not just young people..😄🍀🥰
I am 52 and also love it.
56 yo and can’t get it out if my head, love it! 💖
52 and loving it
I am 66, i love this musical. And u look more from Joost Klein. More then 2 houre. Live performance. Is gratis

55 and one of the few Eurovision songs I like
I can't get Europapa out of my head. Another party banger this year.
I need the Netherlands, Estonia, and Finland in the final with our boy Baby Lasagna. It's a party ESC year for sure. 🥳
they will!!
i guess joost has an interesting song and when the staging is on point it will do very well, but your country is my favorite and even better
@@Dannyknuiman Thank you! We all have high hopes for Baby Lasagna. He's an incredible person who put in a lot of hard work. Croatia has never shown this level of support for a candidate before, and we are hoping for the best, but we will be proud no matter what the outcome may be. 🐱♥️
But I'm really hoping Joost gets great results too. His song is interesting, catchy, and has that ESC factor. He definitely has my vote and I'm sure he can get fair amount of public votes. 🥰
I can't wait to see both performances. I hope that both Joost and Baby Lasagna do well and that we'll see them in the final.
This song is a tribute to his father / Parents who passed away. Europa in Dutch means Europe. Pa or Papa means dad. His dad once told him the world has no “Grenzen” which could be translated to both borders (Borders are a man made concept) or limitations (Many people create their own limitations in their own mind). This life lesson inspired him to have keep having an open view on the world and live his life to the fullest without putting limitations on himself.
After his parents died he carried a lot of pain with him. No matter where on earth he was (Germany, Italy), whatever food he would eat (Escargots in France, Fish and chips in UK, Paella in Spain), he still carries this pain with him. In the end nobody but himself could deal with this pain and he himself must find peace with his losses. Only going through the grief and finding inner peace would put a end to this suffering. This song tells the story of him as an orphan trying to do exactly that.
Him creating this song was a huge part of this process. The line with Stromae / papaoute (which Translates to: Dad where are you), is followed with the words about how he wants his parents to be proud of him. He used to watch Eurovision with his parents and told them one day he would be there performing. Which is what he now did.
There's a possibility that DJ PAUL ELSTAK will appear on the Eurovision stage. This further confirms we're living in a simulation.
He said he wont
There was a interview with him on Radio 538 and he wont he said. 😅
@@MauR1CEnler is nog hoop want het kan zijn dat hij het niet bekend mag maken ofzo dat ze dat als een stage verassing hebben
@@flopjul4581 Ja dat zou idd goed kunnen. 🙌
als dit gebeurd gaat de vlag uit
You are the first Reaction RUclipsr that gets the reference to Dutch gabber music right. Thank you for that!
Uhm yeah she mentioned ''gabber'', but a bit later she calls the music hardstyle instead of happy hardcore. So yeah....
One of the countries who created and does electro-dance better than everyone else, finally decided to send a song of that genre to EV and it's....pure magic 🎉. It's a top 5 for me.
I find him a very unique and authentic artist, and he is a strong live performer. Joost has my televote! With love, from Belgium.
i cry the last 30 second 12 points to the Netherlands
Me too
I am Dutch and totally ❤ it 🎉 more Dutch then This is impossible.
the end is about his dad, his parents died when he was about 12 year old. At the end he's talking about that the wold has no boundries and thats something that his dad told him. :)
I WAS WAITING PATIENTLY FOR YOU TO UPLOAD THE REACTION
I'm in my 60's, but having a lot of fun with this song. Can't get this out of my head. It brings me joy and emotions, got tears in my eyes at the end. Want to give a hug to Joost. And wish him lots of succes. Love this ❤
You said it well, i think this is Gabber & you have the Hardstyle bit… basically what the Netherlands is known for
The hardstyle bit isnt hardstyle but happy hardcore.
loved the: "that's lovely .. um i mean sad .. really sad"
I've not seen your videos before but I loved your reaction and expertise on Dutch music.
You so understand it! Thank you 💜
12 points to the Nederlands!!!!🤩❤🙏
Thats my winner ❤
And all of his other songs are as amazing or even better! Wachtmuziek for me is a literal perfection in music and pure art
s10 at the dinner table❤
And DJ Paul Elstak in the car! 🎉
Donny the fenomeen en rene froger😂
And renee froger and donnie
Gerrie van New Kids in the tv and apson met het bordje
Scooter took that sound from the Dutch gabber house
The guy in the car is Paul Elstak. Google him. He also worked on the song.
Joost Klein is amazing live on stage! I cannot wait to see his stage performance
Hey Noosh, did you see that S10 made an appearance in the video? I loved her song :-) Joost his style is not really my style, but I do like and appreciate this entry 🙂Thanks for your positive reaction :D
You guys proppably didn't notice or know, but there were a lot of (popular) dutch artists and youtubers in this video
The more I see this music video (about 50 times now), the more I end up in tears... This hit me hard in a weird way. First the throwback to the 90s... MY HEAAAAAART!!!!! But to end it like that... an ode to his father... Til yesterday I didn't even like Joost Klein - now I'm a believer! 🤣
The end is bc when Joost was 12 his dad died :(
Totally perfect mix between remind your roots and open minded for something different, even honor them and most important not taking yourself or something else to serious. I like the dutch kind of thinking ;), sry 4 my bad english...
When you talked about Gabber earlier I could not wait to see the reaction when the song transitions to the Gabber part of it. 5:52: Reaction did not disappoint.
Except for her calling it hardstyle instead of happy hardcore
I love this song! its so dutch and so beautiful! 12 from Greece
I gotta be honost, i dont like the Eurovision contest (anymore). But this year i WILL be watching and partying with Joost. Happy hardcore gold from the netherlands, i hope we all will go mental when he sings. Forget about every worry we have and go loco. Letsgooooo Europe!!
I love his facial expressions! He's such an amazing actor
Love the song and all differant styles in it❤
Yes, the Dutch are truly pioneers of electronic music, from Techno and Trance to Hardcore.
Well, it did originate in Belgium but the Dutch took it to the next level.
@@saladspinner3200 What is this ''Belgium'' you're talking about? Don't you mean south-Netherlands (it's just a joke fyi)
@@saladspinner3200 It didn't originate in Netherland or Belgium. It originated in the USA.
@@trubalo house, chicago, and techno, detroit, yeah. But harder styles like gabber/hardcore/style, trance, or even eurodance (it's in the name), definitely did not come from the US.
@@trubalo house did, but techno, trance, eurodance etc has its origins in the Benelux. That's why it became a major industry in Europe in the 90s.
🇳🇱😊❌❌👍👍Пісня сучасна,юмор,свобода,життя,біль.🔥⛵💥хочу чути цю пісню у фіналі!❤😂🌀🌟
THANKS ❤❤❤❤
Good luck to joost Klein and I hope it might win the final preformance and it’s a disco party hit and it’s a party classic hit and it’s a disco boorpa and good luck from Geoff
Click on the subtitles icon and you will see what he is singing
12 points to the netherlands!!!🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺
Thank you from The Netherlands ❤❤
The production is great. Here's to it translating to the Eurovision stage!
Love it. My number 1. 12 points for The Netherlands. Party 🎉🎉🎉
😂
Nice reaction😘
So MANY fun and boppy entries this year! But that's a good thing for you and me! The lyrics are about Joost moving on from the death of his parents when they were younger by following his father's wish to not see borders.
Noosh, FINALLY!!! WE HAVE OUR MUSIC DANCE AFTER SHOW! OUR WINNER!!
What a great song and video. 🎉🎉🎉 Hup Nederland. 🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱 Joost Klein, droom groot. You rock. ❤ Hoping for lots of 12 points from Europe. 🇪🇺🇪🇺💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
VOTE FOR THE NETHERLANDS!!!
I watched the music video after a bad hookup in Denmark. Went to Makmö the next day and listened. This song is just THE vibe of 2024. I’m calling it.
Cool video!
I love Joost klein , proud to be Dutch, not all elder people dislike this song I am a 59 years old Dutch lady and I think it’s amazing so proud off our Joost Klein , a hero in my eyes.
His live performance just dropped on the joost klein channel!
Hey! For if you didnt know, you were on the news in the netherlands with your reaction😁👍
love your eyeliner here noosh :')
the songs tells you to liv your life and do it for the one you liv for
thats how i see it
I'm so excited for our entry. Is it my music taste no, is it part of Dutch culture yes! Go Netherlands!!
This is amazing this is dutch Joost is amazing!!!!❤❤❤❤
Hey, i saw you on the Dutch Television. Really, at RTL Boulevard. It was just 2 or 3 seconds :)
This is my favourite this year. Again though I just worry this may not get a great jury vote but the televote will smash it.
you should really listen to it with caption translated it is really nice to also understand what he says
It is a true work of art, it is filled with so many hidden gems that go unnoticed, especially for those who aren't Dutch. But in short, all the musical transitions go from the old-school house, dance, and EDM to Gabber and New Kids "Hey Jonguh" (the referrals are obvious imho but I'm Dutch). It is a work of art! And I'm proud of him too.
But I think the backstory is so important to really understand it that might be the only downside, perhaps he will have something up his sleeve?! Perhaps he will have an English version for the EVSC?!
Can't wait to see it live on stage at the EVSC :)
Love from Netherlands❤️🇳🇱
Thank you
Papa we have a winner 🎉
What a masterpiece powerhouse banger 🤩🤩🤩
The song is a cheerful, comedic and caricatural tribute to Europe, but it takes on a completely different meaning when you consider the life story of the musician behind it: a sad story. He dedicates the song to his parents, whom he lost at a very young age. First his father died when he was only 12, shortly after that suddenly his mother died. He sings Europ-"papa" (nice alliteration, but it's not a coincidence) and at the end of the music video, we see a metaphorically burning house where you literally see his family photo burning away. A very unfortunate childhood, but Klein finds comfort in the love of his parents and it even turned him into a musician. He started writing to process his huge loss. At the end, he quotes optimistic words from his father and says, "See, daddy? I listened to you."
Crazy party EUROPA
theres A MASSIVE dutch identity to the video clip, i could explain them but only dutch people can connect to it the most
Did you see DJ Paul Elstak in the car?
Can you please turn DOWN the music volume a bit more? I can still just hear it if i'm super quiet...
You go to difficult. This is simply genius ; its new and its freak good. The key on Joost is not to analyse. Just his presence is enough
Thanks so much. I’m so happy with this entrance. We are gonna slay!
The ducth songs are so cleann
btw anyone noticed every youtuber who does a reaction to joost europapa have a MASSIVE viewer boost vs there other videos :)
I like it
Hey im from the nederlands and waht happend at the ending is his dad died when he was 12 and hus mum died when he was 13 so at the end he says like dad you said the werld has no endings dad i did lissen to you en then a family photo burns
33K in 7 hours! Something tells me that you're going to be very happy when you wake up to check your views.
The sounds are early 2000's and some sounds 2010's But new, you know what i mean? And the beat when the people dancing crazy was called happy hardcore and was very popular in the 90's. The dance was called Hakken and the group was calling themselfs Gabbers. O yeah and the godfather of hardcore "DJ Paul ELsak" helpt with the (happy) hardcore beat. He is even in the car (in the clip), the bald guy in the car.
Joost Klein lost his father when he was only 12 and a year later his mother died. Song tribute to his parents, and a message to his father i have done it dad. He prommised his dad that he would be performing at the eurovision.
I think he may have done it. Singalong, party, hits all the Europe angles and themes, Paul Elstak with some happy hardcore in there and then right in the feels. I’ll say top 3 if the jury votes get what’s happening here. Public will be voting for us.
Noosh101 I felt also the similarities in style to Windows95Man. Fun fact: Windows95Man is married to a woman from the Netherlands.
I'm dutch and to be fair, only heared this song because I see clips on youtube.. Welcome to the 90's..
This is a jammer ! Definitely my number 1 so far.
LOVED YOUR REACTION❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤THE NETHERLANDS LOVES U❤❤❤❤🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱
I am 63 and musician for 58 years.
For me this is a great song, it sounds good.
I thought scooter had his inspirations also from Holland...
Spotify and the rest shows that it was not bad.
Your face when you said: hard style! 😂
The musicvideo has captions too, if you want to know the meaning of the lyrics.
Its a ode to his dad that died and papa (euro-papa) means dad in dutch
Wonder if they will keep the sad part at the end for the live performance? A lot of people don't get it.🤔
Excellent review. Joost wants a mosh pit at the stage performance :-). Is that a reference to Ukraine? the girl in ukraine colors after 'welcome in Europe' line
You know the colours of the European flag😅?! He wears it as a sweater in the video. And yellow and blue are also the colours of the flag of his hometown Leeuwarden ánd the colour of our Leeuwarder voetbal (soccer) club Cambuur 💛💙😁
Paul Elstaks hard dance beat at the end is the best.
Eurovision'll be a rave this year & not only Kaleen will rave in may! I will rave as well!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
love this song very much its and banger my country netherlands are slaying
Joost Klein droom groot! 🇪🇺🇳🇱
Ik zeg 12 points for The Netherlands ❤❤❤
