Joost lost his father to cancer at the age of twelve and his mother a year later to a chronic attack. At a young age used to watch Eurovision with them and had a dream that he too would participate in the event. His father told him that he can achieve anything and that the world has no limits and borders. This is a song to his parents and especially to his father as a message that he believed his father's words, he listened to him and made his dream come true

Really great comment and analysis from a video editor point of view. 👌🏻 The dining table with some Dutch celebs refers to the last supper as mentioned in the Bible. The dramatic end of the burning the house is indeed that it’s time to leave the past behind. Nice to know that Joost has a creative team of friends around him with who he made this clip. He almost works out all aspects of his journey to participation of the Eurovision. For instance he designed his clothes, the video has been recorded where he drove to school on his bicycle when he was young. Etc. It’s a real creative allround artist.
Not completely correct. The videoclip was taken at the hamlet Etersheim (Noord-Holland). Joost didn’t grew up there, but in Friesland. 🌎 geo 52°34'45.5"N 5°01'25.4"E

Cool detail: the guy in the driver's seat in the car is a very big hardcore dj, DJ Paul Elstak. Which perfectly matches the oldskool nineties (happy) hardcore vibe from that part of the song.
The end piano chords are from Sting: Englishman in New York. I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien. He used that song also in his other video 'Friesenjungen'
so I am not a expert but this is the second best music video I know, the best one is for sure BTS Dynamite, not a fan of BTS but technically that music video is so insane, and I think this is a solid second place for me technical wise
The song is way more complicated than I thought when I first saw it. Your comment in this reaction video made me appreciate and understand the song even more. There were some things I didn’t get, that I do now. About the flight of birds; this happens often on the same moment every day. These flights are also very common in The Netherlands. Before my apartment building there are 2 flights a day of pigeons. And in the season there are the flights of the starlings. They often start from the rooftop of my building, so I see them fall just before my window, before they catch up with the wind. So it’s possible that the birds flew during filming and they picked it up, or they just waited for the right time. With the shot of the game device morphing in real life: there is a reaction video where the guy recognized the device, being the same as his first one.
O my sweet lord! You are very beautyful! And have such a soothing voice. You should do some asmr videos. You have a relaxing aura radiating from you. Thanks for your amazing videos. ❤❤❤
The song is a letter to his parents who died when Joost was still young. His father told him that since humans invented the borders, he could invent the world, his own world. And so he did! The end with the burning picture and house means that it's time to stop grieving about his parents and step into a new phase in his life.
Thanks so much for all the constructive feedback and nice insights 🥰

I did! And I actually was there in Tilburg 💙the editor, @LyonPol was also in charge of the visuals and he was there killing too @@ErikHamvandenNL
Oh wow that must have been a great experience @@VideoEditorReaction. Little bit jealous here 😜
A true masterpiece by Joost!!!
12 points netherlands
Cool detail: the guy in the driver's seat in the car is a very big hardcore dj, DJ Paul Elstak. Which perfectly matches the oldskool nineties (happy) hardcore vibe from that part of the song.
He even helped Joost with that last part of the song.
Thanks for sharing this info! I didn't know 🙏
The end piano chords are from Sting: Englishman in New York. I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien.
He used that song also in his other video 'Friesenjungen'
Thanks for your insight, didn't know 🙏
The diner part is also like 17s century Dutch painting about eating and parties of the very rich.
That long table.. Da vinci, the painter... last supper
so I am not a expert but this is the second best music video I know, the best one is for sure BTS Dynamite, not a fan of BTS but technically that music video is so insane, and I think this is a solid second place for me technical wise
Holy shit, That was impressive! You caught the entire subtext of the song by looking at it from an editing point of view.
Great watch!
Editing is always connected to storytelling 💙 thanks for your nice comment
@@VideoEditorReaction It's nice to watch someone so good at what they do. Keep up the great work!

So good eurovision song
Thanks for sharing these insights 💙 the birds look incredibly real, so could be what you say and didn't know the story of the the device!
Very very good reaction video..
Thanks for your nice comment 💙
dank u wel
Bedankt voor u reactie! 🙏
O my sweet lord! You are very beautyful! And have such a soothing voice. You should do some asmr videos. You have a relaxing aura radiating from you. Thanks for your amazing videos. ❤❤❤
Thanks for your nice feedback 🙏
The song is a letter to his parents who died when Joost was still young. His father told him that since humans invented the borders, he could invent the world, his own world. And so he did! The end with the burning picture and house means that it's time to stop grieving about his parents and step into a new phase in his life.
Thanks so much for sharing this background information 🙏
In one word 🤔 WOW🤗❤️

I was very enthusiastic about this video because it is so well made, but I never could have analyzed this deep.
