Is this a real HARLEY-DAVIDSON? | The X440

  • Hello,
The 'small' Harley-Davidson X440 is here & it has been receiving some flak from several quarters about its authenticity. But, I've ridden this motorcycle 3 times for more than 700 kms in total and I just can't get enough of it.
I love how it sounds, feels and rides and like they say, "yeh dil mange more".
So, in this video I share my thoughts and feeling on the X440 to dispel the popular opinion that this is not a 'real' Harley. Hope you find it informative and thought provoking.
    Cheers!

Beautiful narration sir . 👏👏😍 Loved it..you don't need any script writer for your videos infact as you mentioned yesterday. Just need someone to take pro level videos..I think as your channel grows you can graduate to that level. 👍👍
As you said this x440 needs to be test driven to see how good it is. I took one and was totally blown away. Just the feel from this bike was far superior to that of the adv390, himalayan 450 or any others in the segment..

I ride a 12 year old Classic 500 (Maroon). I love the low end torque and riding pleasure, but don't like the vibes and the unreliable nature of it. I've replaced the troublesome FI system with a Mikuni carburettor and the bike has transformed into a much better ride since then. I've been looking for an upgrade but I just haven't been able to find something close to my 500. This one, I must test ride. Thanks so much for this informative video. Love your narration - so simple and intelligent without unnecessary drama. Keep making more Big Bear.

First person who could agree that this is very much of a newer version with some features of a classic 500. My first lesson with bikes was on a classic 500 and the day I rode this on test drive it was weirdly nostalgic, picking your words the bond between a man and a machine initiated😂😅. I know I'm gonna enjoy this bike for all the time I have it. Lots of love for the mechanical sections of biking you cover on insta and I hope we get more people who are accepting towards the love people have for their own bike and are just maybe a tad bit less judgmental😂😂

Another impressive and distinctive video. I am a new (aspiring) rider and not an expert, so I can’t compare this with the competitors but as an owner of X440 I must agree on few things you mentioned:
    1) you said exactly what I feel after purchasing this. The price, Specs nothing mattered anymore. I love every mile with this motorcycle both in the city and in highways.
    2) I recently did a 1500 ride (4 days trip with 2x600kms 1x320kms with one day rest) during the 600kms stretches the bike never changed its character and I was easily able to cruise between 90-105kmph without any vibrations and no difficulties. I am not a big fan of speeding so preferred not to exceed 110kmph.
    3) I’m also a person who doesn’t get emotionally attached to inanimate things but there is something about this motorcycle that may make me attached to it.

I agree with all of your points, Sir, especially the one about "looking beyond the delivery experience". My experience with Triumph has been unique. It seemed they were doing us a favour by letting us into the showroom. We never felt welcome or at ease there. I think if we were in the market for a Tiger, maybe they would have listened. Plus we should have dressed for the occasion. My experience at the Hero showroom was exactly the opposite. The sales team was flustered and irritated and was least interested in sales. They were more concerned about their handling charges. I found the best and most consistent experience at RE. Despite all the problems with the vehicles, they sell because they connect and listen to the customers and make them feel special (whatever the customer's budget). I hope Triumph learns to deal with the lower end of the market and Hero learns to deal with the higher end of the market. It will take time and a lot of effort.

    • @bigbearbangalore

Very well articulated. Only the kerb weight discourages me and a Honda CB 300R seems a friendly option at similar price for a Sr Citizen like me

2:16 The bike actually looks gorgeous when you cover up the rear section from the seat with your thumb and look at it. Feels like there was realy potential to make it look 10x better.

I own this bike and I tell you, the entire review given by Big bear is exactly what I want to echo back.. This machine is amazing man.. There is some emotion that you will definitely feel every time you ride this bike… Smoothness of engine at low mid and high end, comfort, and a required power/torque. No one match these 3 things currently in market..

I was really skeptical once this bike was launched. But a friend bought it and I had a similar experience on my first ride. The essence of why we fell in love with early REs can be found in this Harley only. Today's RE does not have that thumper feeling. The sheer joy of riding this bike can only be understood once u ride it.

After this beautiful vlog I just test ride it yesterday, now im confused between cb 350 n hd440 x . As you said its a mixture of cb 350's quality n bullet's Character and What a thumper sir. So solid, didnt felt weight , engine heat is there , feels confident, very impressive , finally SPEEDO console's a CRAP😂 and I dont mind it, hero harley must fix it

At first I'm biased regarding rear look of this bike , but when i saw the bike in person in btm layout struck in traffic 😂 gave me ample time to observe and talk with owner and it turned out to be beautiful machine with minor corrections.

Does not matter if Hero made it in India. The fact that Harley thought about Indian customers and built a bike from scratch is the most impressive thing from a company that sells bike in range of 12-25 Lakhs. Harley could have sold the Chinese version but they did no. Kudos to Harley for actually putting efforts in this product.
