What an amazingly hilarious take on a simple motorcycle review ! Unique but still managed to cover all the major points and that too without showing any unnecessary ride footage. Brilliant!! ❤
I've noticed reviewers having their initial opinions changed and a big smile after riding this bike. They didn't have enough of it and ended up booking it. Hero must have done some cost cutting but they did keep the motorcycling experience as good as ever. You guys must've had a blast riding it as well. Can't wait to get my hands on it as well.
Yeah the black paint hero seems to be using is really bad. They seem to have used the same paint on the trellis frame of the Karizma and the x440. Both look bad because of which the build quality also looks kinda iffy. Same with the welds on the frame. But at the end of the day when youre riding and youre gliding through the road, the motor is what speaks to you and Hero seems to have done a fantastic job of making an actual Royal Enfield competitor while still staying true to the Harely name in terms of the character of the engine.
Yes !! Was figuring out wat to watch while eating lunch, now i forgot what I ate 😂 !! This is exactly what the 500cc classic should have been. Perfect one bike " to (almost) rule them all " only gripe is the pricing ...crosses 3 lac !! (Of that KA RTO takes nearly 60k in road tax and cess.. ridiculous !!!)
Saw it on the street once near Indiranagar. It sounds good but design wise, it looks like an unfinished engineering project that has a lot of potential but needs improvement.
The auto-headlight and console colour change from the light theme to the dark theme is better implemented in the 2017-2023 390 Duke (gen 2). As soon as you enter a dark area, it switches from the DRL mode to the main headlight and from light to dark mode. However, when you get back into a bright area like after exiting a tunnel or underpass, it does not immediately switch back. There is clearly a hysterisis programmed into this and it switches back only after several seconds. This way it does not flip flop all the time.
Nicely done, gentlemen! In Part 2, can you pls try cover the experience with pillion on bumpy roads (pls comment on the lack of a subframe too), plus the performance of those tires in muddy conditions.
the side stand part mentioned is true it is delicate, i had ridden one which was dropped by previous riderr since he had lost his footing, (the previous rider story aside) what happened is motorcycle shut down(soft shut down ) and the display showed side stand down (in red), it required Harley sales rep to instruct over phone to me (which was easy for me to execute the process) awsome guy to get the motorcycle to start again a 'soft' sidestand kick on lumpy road also the side stand down error croped up too giving a soft engine off (almost like there is no fuel cutoff feel) The ride is awsome my shoulder is more open or free for me which is new awsome feel . other part is the rear shocks are very nice from OE (RE are too stiff from showroom M350) but it bounce me off the seat on lumpy road (yeah i was quick) ride is comfortable (on short test ride)which was surprising the seat is lengthy for a actual humans can sit behind (almost) various pot belly humans can sit without belly pressed behind my back gear shift are slick and with positive click/almost like a ratcheting wrench (70tooth type)
Would be nice to have a ADV with this engine. This and the ADV could well turn out to be the RE killer given RE's recent love for less vibes and high revs..
my take: The Harley Davidson X440 is Harley Davidson's Americana tribute to the entire 500 cc lineup from Royal Enfield. It is effectively the Indo-Americanised version of the Bullet 500, Classic 500, and Thunderbird 500 combined.

Hero - Harley tied up that's ok , they want RE market okay. Harley is mostly known for cruiser in India. 1.bike seems to be a direct rival for bullet or classic 2. So are they cooking something competition for meteor 350 ? As I was expecting a proper cruiser I hear they registered a nightster 440 name will it be worth a wait. With X440 engine on nightster like design.

The conundrum!! The Inty is a lot more fun on good roads. Not great in heavy traffic and commuting. The X440 is lighter and nimbler and not as powerful obviously. Great all rounder.
Planning on either this or Hunter 350, the issue with looks of this bike is the rear open space looks hideous to me, is there a way to modify and cover that vacant space? also when will the bookings be resumed? Also could you please do a comparison video of riding comfort at various speeds, suspension and all that stuff!
This is about 1.2 lakh more than the Hunter. And once a rider is seated, that vacant space gets covered. And yes a Part 2 is planned to cover aspects we did not cover in this video. And we have no idea about booking schedules.

We speak and shoot candidly and have no script foe any of our videos. Hence there is no set path or theme. May be we will do a part 2 for the Speed 400. And I cannot choose for you between the two. For me at my age and slow speed, I prefer the X440.
Honda should have made CB400, 450 or 500 instead of trying to modernize the 350cc Enfields which RE was already working on at the time. They should have tried to fill the vaccum created by discontinuation of Enfield 500. This bike did just that. Enfield will never launch 500cc single due to their 650s but there is still place for a CB500.

Speed 400 build quality is good. X440 is for easy touring and cruising and the S400 is for energetic, quick and fast travel. Different characteristics. It's a choice as tobwjat one wants.

Yes the design comes across a bit quirky in the beginning and it grew upon me after a while.
Haven't seen any of it, saw couple of Triumph 400 but no x440 !! Hope it does good numbers .
I really think a well designed back rest will vastly improve the looks on the rear.

This engine is a low revving thumper and may not suit the Xp. The Zmr engine may suit better.

A backrest would make the bike look complete, looks a bit odd towards the rear. Seems like the designers gave up or something.
