    I love everything you do!!! These plates are a must for all pet owners. Patti I used your links to buy the plates and they are not flat bottomed as yours are. They have the rim on the bottom. Makes a decoupage most difficult than it has to be to cover the entire back of the plate. Do you have any other link I can try for a flat bottomed clear dish?

    Oh, Patti, your new baby is just adorable -- you'd better start going to the gym and working on your throwing arm -- if you think you can toss that toy a couple of times and call it a day -- forgetaboutit !!! They are wonderful, sweet, loyal -- we had border collies and a golden retriever, and best tip from the vet: ice cubes semi crushed -- put them in the water bowl and teach her to chew on those and not your furniture, plus it helps soothe their gums when cutting their teeth -- just like a human baby !!!! Congrats !!! Great project !!!!

    • @patioelf
      @patioelf  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you Patricia! She already has me running all over, good thing I stay in shape b/c she's just like a 2 year old human but a lot faster! I love the idea of the ice cubes! Thank you! I am taking her to the Delaware tomorrow (the very shallow edge) to see how she likes the water. Of course as her over protective Mommy she'll be harnessed and tied to me like the treasure that she is.
      Thanks!
      Patti

    • @patriciabrightwell196
      @patriciabrightwell196 6 лет назад +1

      I love that phrase, "the treasure that she is." When our little Molly was killed in May, I literally was paralyzed with grief, but Jeanette from Aussieland -- Scrappinhappy xo -- told me how her family got their new kittie - also a Molly -- the very next day after their much-loved pet crossed the rainbow bridge. It's a God thing that we get the right fur babies at the right time, because when I was looking all over for Molly and calling her, suddenly I heard a voice saying: have you lost your cat? Poor kid. He is 18 and here was this old woman on the brink of tears saying -- my son didn't know she got out yesterday, I was at the dr's, and she's not come home -- the girl loved to eat; she never missed a meal or snack -- and his cat had just had kittens a week old that had the day before opened their eyes -- of course, they were adorable, but I was not going to get another cat -- well, we went down just to visit the kittens, and fell in love with the little grey curious one, not knowing the gender -- a week after that we decided to adopt and named "it" Finnegan for a boy or a girl -- we went down to claim "our treasure" at five weeks, and she stole our hearts on the quick walk home, and we discovered a little girl, whom we are so in love with -- my son melts more than me, I think, when he sees her -- she is such a joy -- I know your little Anna (LOVE her name) bring your family so much joy -- I hope you have a wonderful time tomorrow -- she will love the water -- please share video with us -- also, our friend's adult female -- Ceclia -- loved carrying around a stick -- she was a brindle and beautiful and just the best dog -- my son was 8 when they met, and it was instant love -- she got her dog back in a divorce settlement -- both had endless energy, so we made HIM throw the toy and stick -- ha.

    Excellent tutorial and thanks!!! To date, I have not seen a tutorial with the painted back of a plate. Is there a particular reason why it was done? Was it for cosmetic purposes or durability? And was the paint acrylic? Thanks

I personally have been buying napkins for over 30 years and I still have some that are that old! (and out of print) But try that page and I'm sure you'll have fun!

    What is the difference between liquid gel & Mod Podge. Thank you

    • @patioelf
      @patioelf  6 лет назад

      Hi Doris, if you mean the matte gel medium and the Mod Podge- the Mod podge has special polymers in it that make it resistant to high temps. (only the dishwasher safe Mod Podge) where as the gel medium can be removed quite quickly by just scrubbing it after getting it wet. Hope that helps!

    • @patioelf
      @patioelf  6 лет назад

      THank you Lori, and I"m so sorry to hear about your doggie. You can stencil a name onto the back of the plate by using waterproof markers. There are stencils with the alphabet on them -cut the letters out (so that they have a block of plastic around them) and use a strip of tape above and below where you want to stencil the name to keep it straight. Hope that helps!

    I adore adore adore pit bulls. I abhor abhor abhor puppies! That said, I adopted a 3 month old pit puppy on April the 13th! I've got a 4 year old female I got when she was 10mnths old. She would have been euthanized for sure! She was rescued in a condemned house with 20 other pitbulls. There were four intact adults 7 juveniles and 10 8 week old puppies. The adults were immediately euthanized because they were very food aggressive and my girl was pretty chewed up from having the fight for food. When I went to visit her in the shelter I walked her from her kennel to a quiet room and she didn't extend her legs fully the whole walk back. She was shaking like a leaf and peeing the whole way back. when we got into the room I let her off the leash and she walked as far away from us as she could and begins sniffing things and checking out everything but us. She did come over to us and allowed us to pet her but she wasn't interested in us at all. My brother had just passed away 10 months prior to that, and I had put my Mastiff down the day after we buried my brother. He was 11 years old and that is very old for a Mastiff. I brought my brother's dog home the next day and he developed ehrlichiosis 10 months later period in January he had a reoccurrence of there lucky OSIS and although it's rare that invaded his kidneys. He may have been able to make it to Baton Rouge for a kidney transplant, but that is if he could survive and if Baton Rouge would accept him and if I had $20,000 in my bank account to pay for it. The first two may have been possible, but the third took it out of the realm of possibility. So at 7 years old I had to have him put down. We were so attached. We bonded like I have never bonded with the dog in my life. And I had to get another dog right away. When I told the woman that I would take her she was shocked! I wish you could have seen the look on her face LOL there was something about the look in Lexie's eyes. I felt like she needed me, and I knew I needed her. As the months went on the vet and I discovered that some of her special-needs told us that she had been taken away from her mother way too early although her mother was on the premises we knew that they took the puppies away early and put them in another room with bowls and plates of milk replacement all over the floor. The vet has decided she was probably 2 weeks old! During her potty training, like all dogs, she had a few accidents. All of her accidents happened either in her bed or in my bed on her side. The vet decided that she was taken away before she was taught to not potty where she sleeps! My vet told me that I would have to keep her all her life that she would never bond with another human. He didn't have to worry about that. She is home. I belong to her! And I was right there is something special. She has the sweetest spirit and pretty much everyone who spends time with her falls in love with her. Most of us call her Lucy because that fits her so perfectly once she gets to know you! She's a kissing fool of 🤡! She's white and her skin was so itchy! Five different vets tells me that she had a flea allergy and five different times I told him it was not fleas. I live in town and I had her on bravecto. I knew it wasn't fleas but my vet told me that they allergy testing was so expensive and so flawed. I ask them to test her for demodectic mange and he told me those little bald spots were too small to be demodectic mange and it doesn't itch. I told him I wanted to do it anyway and I would pay for it so I wanted him to do it. Lo and behold. Guess who was right? Of course that was not her allergy issue but that was some of it. The spots were so small because I was taking such good care of her skin with coconut oil and feeding her wild salmon oil internally. I found a spot on the internet that did DNA allergy testing for $150 and not the flawed thousand-dollar testing. I swabbed her mouth cut her nails and combed her hair and sent it all in. When I got the results back the first thing it said was that she was a skittish type dog. That freaked me out because I couldn't believe they could tell that so I was ready to see what she was allergic to and I knew it was going to be right. I began to cry when I saw how long the list was. And how hot it was things like plastic! She had on a caller with a big plastic clasp, her swimming pool was plastic! But then I saw the food list... Chicken, duck, turkey, pork, goat, oh my gosh!! What's NOT on this list? I realize that beef and fish weren't on there. So she could have beef and fish no soy no no wheat no gluten no red potato no Cow Dairy. We were going to make this work, and we did. As soon as I change your caller, her food bowls and FINALLY found a food that didn't have chicken, she was off steroids and stopped scratching 80% oh her waking hours. The red around her eyes and nose and ears went away and her personality begin to bloom more each day. She began to love me more each day too!!! LOL I was shocked to find out that so many foods that say beef have chicken as their second ingredient! Even the food that she has been eating for 3 years started using chicken fat as a preservative last month. I live in a town that has about 17,000 people. The only place I have to buy dog food as Walmart and to Tractor Supply type stores. One of them has their own line of dog food and they had a salmon and potato food that she's been eating. And a beef and chickpea food. Both are now using chicken fat as a preservative. I'm having to order all her food online now. The new puppy is eating the same food because it's just so much easier to let them both eat the same food. I don't have issues with either of them being overweight and I have always free fed. I wouldn't know how to free feed two separate feeds. they are beautiful dogs my new puppy looks a lot like yours only heat is a lighter and more red type Brown with white. His name is Rudy. I was inspired by the 1990s movie by the same name. Lexie is all white except she has one brown ear and one polka-dotted ear. And she has one golf ball-sized brown spot at the base of her tail. I love that polka dotted ear! But mostly I just love her heart! I think pitbulls maybe the cuddliest dogs I've ever come across. It's hard to imagine with their reputation of being mean that they are so cuddly. Rudy is up the age, 6 months that all he does is Seek and Destroy anything he can find, which even means my butt! He likes to bite it. LOL it's those little nibbly bites with the front teeth. I'll break him someday! At 55, I'm not a huge puppy fan lol
