- Will my fresh built 339 stroker sbc run? THis 339 (.060 305 block and 3.75" stroke crank) has taken me way to long to build, but it's finally done and ready to light off on the engine test stand.

Sounds great. First stroked 305 I have seen in all my years. We built some nice 307,s back then for people but never a 305. To busy fixing flat cams in them. Good job.
Thanks, stroked 305s are more common than most realize, but nobody brags about it.🤣🤣🤣
I had a ‘87 Camaro that I built a 335” stroked 305 back in 2002. Owned it until 2017. The motor ran strong with a mild cam and stock heads and TPI setup. The car ran 13.40s with 2.73 gears, it was a fun motor
Awesome, I love hearing about real life experiences with these " junk" 305/334 strokers
@@SquarebodyStuff absolutely! If I had to do it over again I probably would have done a 350 just because cylinder head options are much better with a larger bore. But it was a great motor. I still have videos of it on my channel.
I been waiting so long for you to finish that motor I’m glad you stuck with a 305
I appreciate that, it's still gonna be a bit before it makes its way into a truck. But at least it's running.
Sounds great! Can't wait to see how well it performs.
Thank
wonderful! i am excited for you. great build
Thanks.
That’s what we’ve been waiting for! Sounds awesome!
Thanks, it finally runs
Cool vid, putting 420ci Sbc in my 77’ c10 soon!
Thanks. That ought to make it move!
this sounds like a real engine, man !
Lol, well it kinda is, just a small one
Oh Yeah!!!! Sweet music 👍👍
Thanks!!
Cant wait to see the dyno numbers.
Man this thing sounds healthy! Your channel has given me the kick in the pants i needed to build out the 305 i have in my 93 single cab ❤
Awesome
That thing sounds great
Thanks 👍
Patience!! Haha your insides were exploding I’m sure!!
Yes and no. I think they call it maturing.🤣🤣🤣
squarebody
Sounds great, glad to finally hear it running and I bet you’re ecstatic. Hope you’re able to get it in the truck soon to see how it does.
Thanks, I'm definitely ready to make some tire smoke with it.
Sounds like she’s got some power 👍!!!!
Thanks, I hope so.
Fingers crossed
😂😅
@@SquarebodyStuff sounded great. Glad to see it finally done.
That Hi Clayton comment made me laugh, he has a squarebody burb so he must be a good dude. You must have good neighbours firing that up at night.
Clayton is my oldest son. It was only around 6pm when we fired it up. And was done playing by 8 or 9. I live in the country and my nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away
Glad to see it run. Wow it sounds good
Thanks
dang i didn't get this notification until 8:45 pm central time. at least i get to watch it though.
Dang it! I appreciate you watching.
Sounds great!
Thanks
I would like to see someone build a Oldsmobile 307 to its full potential
That would be a fun build too.
she sounds good
Thanks, I think I'm gonna wear the starter out being on the stand.🤣🤣🤣
@@SquarebodyStuff haha I would too. it would be fun to have the throttle hooked up to a remote control car servo motor and run the throttle from a chair. it would be perfect, you could sit there with a drink and never have to get up.😆
Don't give me any ideas 🤣🤣🤣
🎉 Congratulations sounds good. What os it cranking over at? CCP 👍
Haven't put a Guage to it yet.
Time for some Stroke'in
Yesss! Even if it's short strokin
What camshaft did you use?? Sounds good!

i couldn't wait to see it running now i cant wait to see it in the vehicle. i bet you're excited for that, along with just getting it running of course.
I'm definitely excited to hear it run. Probably gonna wear the starter out just playing with it on the stand. It might be a bit before it goes in the truck.
Rowdy
Thanks
I find that the spreaders for those valve covers work better at spreading out the load and therefore they don’t leak. They even come in chrome!!!!👍
Yes they do, I couldn't find them. I might be changing up the valve covers anyways.
Sounds awesome man! 👍
Thanks
My other question is how much HP on the engine with no power adders
Not sure yet, this is the first fire up of it. I'm hoping to schedule some dyno time.
Any idea on a ball park of what you spent
More than I should have for this power level, but I spent it on making the bottom e d able to handle s good about of power adders. Roughly to build the same engine a guy would spend over 10k. But if you just want one that makes the same power and stay NA, You save sever thousands for that.
What size carb you gonna run?
750. The carb on it for the start up is an 850. I just wanted a Leake free proven carb to start it.
Bet you are proud as musterd on a bologna sandwich
Fried bologna sammich
My question is wut mechanical fuel pump are you using that it requires a regulator?
It probably doesn't need it, but I didn't feel like making a new line before starting this thing up.
😎🇺🇲🤘
What headers are those?
