    Generally we build these engines with solid roller lifters but the customer wanted this to be a hydraulic roller. '

    My 572 Hemi made peak power at 28 degrees. 4.5 bore 4.5 stroke. 750 hp 675 ft/lbs

    Love that type Hemi build! We have an original 1970 426 Street Hemi along with the 1968 magnesium cross ram intake and correct Holley carbs and a pair of the Chrysler aluminum heads that were available in the late 90's. It all needs to be rebuilt. What is the max RPM of the hyd. roller in the Hemi and what were the cam specs and compression? Like the low maintenance of the hyd. roller cam. Engine is in our 70 Hemicuda.

    My 4.15 stroke hemi also liked 30 degrees, it also picked up a couple tenths in the quarter by reving to 6500 vs 6000. Why did you guys only pull this one to 5800?

    The hemi is designed to be shifted at 7200 rpm. If you go look at the ASE engineer sheet written by Chrysler and submitted. The highest power they got was 750hp out of 426 ci in 1966. He’s a little secret. Due to lifter angle vs Valve trane. The engine will make more power with bigger pushrods. They do like timing but you missed something 😂. You must put compression in the engine to get great power and be able to increase timing.

      Holy crap. I realize that was an engineering design maximum unfit for road cars, but a 7.0 7200 RPM Hellcat in ‘66? There was no tech to control delivery of all that power back then. That would spin those narrow hard donut tires right off their wheels.

      @@PaulAngileri you ever watch the racing they did? These were not street cars. But factory race cars. Now today if you go was the FAST racing series you see cars on bias tires running 9’s. And you must not realize drag slicks are bias tires. The drag radial is available today. But all the true slicks are bias ply. Chrysler actually did engineer their suspension for racing. The semi elliptical leaf spring dominated super stock classes. These early hemi race engines were naturally aspirated. Today super chargers and turbos help with power. But the blocks being built today are based upon the skirted hemi blocks along with cross bolted mains. Go read the ASE report. Very interesting

      ​@@Ron_Kirkpatrick There are some True Drag Racing Slicks that are Radial construction, MT, Hoosier, make em, and I'm sure others do also, such as Goodyear, M&H and others.

    Failed to mention what jet size, gives the bore but doesn't mention the cam grind? What carb etc. It's a hemi on the dyno and it puts out decent power, wow.

    I'm a Chrysler guy but seriously a 427 side oiler with hi riser heads and the factory 2 four intake can make those numbers with the right cam and tuning and 11 to 1 compression and a big block Chevy doesn't need defending as you can easily build a 700 inch bbs and get 850 hp from it. Horsepower cost money, for what that Hemi cost to build you could build TWO 6.0 LS engines with a turbo on them and get 900 Horsepower out of them each.

      @johnsheetz6639 there is an enterprising man who has made in excess of 8.5 horsepower per cubic inch from his twin turbo small block combination, and it LIVES under 50 pounds of boost and 10,000 rpm shift points. He has put down more than a few 650 + cubic inch guys on nitrous, and yes, his twin turbo setup isn't cheap but going fastest never is and I doubt he has much more if any than mountain motor guys do in their setups. His little engine is running stock heads, block and crank as well !!!!

      @PaulAngileri Chrysler Hemi parts have been expensive since they came out. I have old magazines from 1970 with ads showing you could buy a 426 complete air cleaner to oil pan for 1100 bucks. You could buy a BRAND NEW Hemi car for 4k the same year !!!
      An over the counter 572 Hemi engine now is about 22k plus about 500 delivery if you own a forklift to unload it.
      They are large heavy engines with an expensive valve train. What I didn't say about the 427 Ford high riser was that it would be much be much more expensive than the Hemi because the parts are very rare.
      You can get the 60's style Hemi from the Chysler dealer or direct shipping.
      I paid a grand for a 6.0 LS with 100k on it, and I could turbo it and buy valve springs and bigger injectors and fuel pump and have it tuned for about 1800 or so. This crazy economy makes it difficult to be very accurate on prices.
