    Would've been nice to see the condenser lifted out and put back in.

      You can see it in this video where I remove the fan to change the a/c compressor this is an 8th gen civic but same idea.

    Only replaced the old condenser; the new condenser needed 2.7 onces PAG oil? Other videos suggest 1 - 1.3 onces only...

      Probably should have explain it clearer total is approximate 2.7oz on shop manual. With the condenser and the receiver dryer replacement shop manual calls for 1 and 2/3 oz so I put closer to 2oz. And not knowing how much leaked out. There's a chart in shop manual on suggesting how much oil to put in for what kind of repair I needed.

    If there’s no pressure in the system can we assume there’s no oil in the system?
    Secondly if you have a manifold can’t you just drop 2.7 oz of oil and have the vacuum in the system suck it back in with the refrigerant? Trying to do this myself, thanks.

      No because your compressor, dryer, condenser, evaporator will retain oil. When ever you recover or vacuum you won't be able to get all the oil out. In the manual it will tell you how much oil to put in if you are replacing certain components. I typically just put 1oz of oil with dye when I recover or if the system is empty when I recharge. For your doing it without a machine then yea you can draw in under a vacuum I use a syringe and inject it in the low side once it's charged and the compressor is running

    i’ve never done one before but after watching this why would anyone take the bumper off?

    • @theoffroadingmechanic
      @theoffroadingmechanic  Год назад +2

      Unlike the 10th gen civic the bumper does have to come off. It's just to show since repairs are based on book time and how much a shop is going to charge based on that. And I wanted to make this so people who this car can save themselves some money
