Shit my belt is burning even when the compressor is off. I’m starting to think it’s due to the fact the bearing that allows to spin the pulley without the clutch being engaged is being welded to the damn clutch itself. Car smokes really bad from AC compressor

My ‘05 Subaru Outback started overheating after I turn on the A/C while on heavy street traffic. The fans kick on high only, rarely going to low speed. Hwy driving is fine, no engine overheating. But the A/C is definitely not blowing cold as it used to be.. I thought the engine overheating was actually a cooling system related issue, but I’ve ruled that out already. I will concentrate on the A/C system next. Great little video, thank you.

Hello. My mechanic just vacuumed and charged my a/c. It cools good. However my clutch does not stop turning as long as my a/c is on. It stops when I turn off the a/c. When I tested this, the temperature setting was on 50%, just at the middle, and it was evening so not too hot weather. I waited around 5-10 minutes and the clutch did not stop turning. It was cold in the car but not very cold. When I turned the temperature switch to max, the air from the vents went colder. So the a/c temperature control system (probably some kind of thermostat) works properly. The only problem is that the clutch does not stop turning which increases the a/c gas pressure too much so it leaks out of the system. What’s the problem? How to fix?

I noticed my car was doing the same thing. Next day it was blowing warm from the driver side. Had the system vacuumed and recharged. Didn’t last a day. Cooling fan stopped coming on the next day…all of this just to find out my compressor went bad lol Pepboys didn’t tell me about the compressor. They just said there wasn’t a leak and everything APPEARED to be working fine.
      Robbed the fukk outta me.
My personal mechanic told me my system wasn’t holding pressure because the compressor wasn’t doing its job. That and the condenser being effed up was causing the fans to not come on. And the a bad expansion valve SHOULD be the reason one side is blowing colder than the other side. Thousand dollar job.
My original compressor seized. When I had it replaced, i didn’t replace the condenser or the expansion valve. Or the receiver fans for that matter. This caused the new compressor to take a dump. What I’m being told and putting together.
Sorry to be long winded and hope u got it figured out.

I bought recently a 1987 Chevrolet S-10 2.8l V6. The ac compressor lines weren't connected. The plug plate was still attached in back of ac compressor and the bolt is to short to fit the lines. I took the bolt out of my 99 S-10 ac compressor. I've the lines on now and electrical connection in. If i connect a test light onto the ac compressor wire should it light the bulb, with or without dashboard ac On. problem im having is the belt rides one groove out towards the front. The pulley broken two belts. I went to O'Reilly bought ac bi-pass pulley but, it doesnt fit. The ac compressor without belt on spins smoothly without noise. I connected the lines and electrical connector but, clutch isnt spinning. Does the dashboard ac have to be turned On for it to turn? I dont think theres no refrigerant in system if the lines weren't connected. Is it hard to add the refrigerant and oil?

I needed to take my car to the mechanic for a complete engine fixup cause it had major issues, the car was full with freon and everything worked properly and after the meet at the mechanic the freon was gone, my father wanted to go fill it with freon and the car stopped mid-drive, had to tow it back to the mechanic to fix the issue, a whole year went by and the car did not see freon in all that time, it was driven and all but we didn't need a/c cause of cold temps until this summer. So no usage of a/c for almost a year and now we filled her with freon and noticed the circular thing(don't know what it's called) that if a/c is off then it won't rotate along with the clutch and pulley, if a/c is on then it couples and rotates like it should but only when the engine is cold, once the cars engine reaches optimal temps it ussually uncouples that piece at the compressor so we pretty much dialed it down to 2 things, faulty sensor or the cable that should give electricity doesn't do it properly so it might need changing I know we sent the car for the cable checkup and it did have oxidation at the end, fixed that but didn't fix the a/c problem so it's either faulty cable or some sensor going awol.

My 2017 nissan Sentra has this issue where the cold line is cool to the touch but never is cold. Its constant and it will never will get any colder than that. I had took it to the dealership to have them service the freeon and they asked me why. I told them it was not really getting cold just cool air but not enough to call it cold. They ended up discovering that the compressor is failing. It gradually over time just kept getting less and less cold. I have no idea at this point but one things certain, it feels like the ac compressor is not working like it should. Not pumping the freeon property and thus not getting cold enough. Just based off everything im seeing it only seems to be the case. I just do not want get rip off again especially since i had them test it to see if this is the issue. I jist want it fixed but have no idea who to take it to.

I have an issue that hasnt been talked about on any ac videos. The low and high side gauges fluctuate back and forth 10 psi. When the gauge is fluctuating at their maximum psi, it is 10 psi lower than what it should be. Last month i put a little more refrigerant in but when driving at high rpms the engine would stutter and the ac would blow warm air. I let out a little bit of refrigerant and there is no more stuttering and the clutch stays on like it should. I know the go to answer will be add more refrigerant but is there anything else that would make the gauges fluctuate 10 psi?

Worst case scenario, you should have a plan so that if your car decides to quit working, you can manage to replace it. I'm guessing that your Acadia has low miles on it like under 100,000.

2007 Chevy Avalanche: Had a 134a leak which left me with no refrigerant. Replaced o-rings, valves, etc. Ran a vacuum and it held -30hg for an hour. Began recharging system and couldn't get the system to suck in the 134a from the can. AC LED light in car blinking. Relay is good (swapped it with another to test), bypassed relay and clutch engages when jumped. Tried recharging while jumping relay, no success. Tried placing AC can in hot water while charge hose was connected to low-side and still no success. What am I doing wrong or need to do differently? - Thanks!
