Nice tractor cotontop3! We bought a 5075e cab last july and have just over 100 hours on it now. It has been a great tractor I know you'll enjoy it. Perfect all around tractor for food plots, working in the woods, and field work.

I bought an e series to use around the farm for mowing and light work. Has 20 hours and Deere bought it back. Went to an r series. Hope you have better luck than we did.

Congrats...that's a nice looking machine, You will really enjoy the third function valve and a grapple. I have one on my New Holland TC-45D with a Versa Tech grapple. It's great for firewood, tree limbs and just cleaning up trash.

we just picked up a New Holland td5-85 with a loader and a Duun snowblower. bit a of a good deal since 18 hours on it from demo or some sort. still 70k hehe. bit much for clearing the yards for a couple of houses, but mite see if cant find a litte work for it during the summers at least :) but it sure is a nice machine.
dont like the JD dealer in town so went with the ones that have the better shop.

TIPS DRAG A POLE OR LOG over fresh DIRT in order to smooth it.
On digging post holes, the slower you dig a hole the more DIRT you get out.
I watched you leveling and putting the post straight up. you can purchase a small post
level to keep for small jobs.

Tim - check your hitch geometry - the quick hitch set you 3 or 4" farther back than before. be sure you still have enough PTO length for when the tractor is downhill and the hog is able to go to the bottom of the hitch travel. Also check what hits when you co through a swale and the front tires and the hog tailwheel are on the ground and the tractor rears are not. The front edge of the hog deck may hit the PTO because the geometry is different. BTW - what tire ballast did you use ?

Good looking tractor and it should do you well with all your equipment. I also think you would benefit most certainly from adding some weight to the front, afterall you wont always want the loader installed as it can make it a bit too cumbersome in tight areas.

    Hi Tim,
    congratulations on ur new tractor!
I got Goodyear tires on my 100hp tractor, too and i like them. They are good tires, they don't wear down as soon as other tires do and they really pull good!
What I don't like that much about Goodyear is that they don't ride as comfortable as they should do and they don't clean of themselves good enough but i'd still buy them again.
I see u don't have fenders on the front tires. Did u not order them cause u don't want them for bushhogging between the pinerows or will u get some later? Without them on a rainy day or on wet ground the mud from the front tires will hit u in the face..
The 540E PTO is good stuff! To get that feature was a good decision!
I got it on my machine, too and it is very useful and fuelsaving for example for raking hay or running the woodsplitter..
Have fun with ur new machine!

  • @cmusic52
    @cmusic52 7 лет назад +1

well that disc sure will ease the need for front weights better then one of those 3 point discs would..... cause if that mower made the front end light some of those 3 point discs would probly have it in the air

I made one improvement to my Ford 3910 that's worth it's weight in gold.I mounted a 12" radiator cooling fan underneath the canopy so when it's hot out I have some air blowing down keeping me dried off.Much, much better in the summer.

I have R-4 tires with fluid in them You will probably not need front weights. With my loader on I never have had a problem. Your front with 4wheel drive has plenty of weight on the front. . My friend has a similar one and I had to go over the complete tractor and adjust all of the lines. I also had to re-do all of the hydraulic lines when they put the loader on.
It does not look light in the front. Mine has a JD MX-6 which is about the same weight as the Bush Hog and it has never felt light. ( I have fluid in all of the tires and a loader on the front) What you describe is typical of the way they deliver most John Deere tractors today. Does it have the Yanmar engine in it. Mine has the Yanmar normally aspirated and it has been a great engine. I have about 1000 hours on it and the only problem is the E-cruise control. More later!!!
