Looks like a heck of a good decision. Detach loaders are nice as they are easier to move around in tight spots(like mowing in trees) and less noise from banging around when they wear. Easier to see as well. I'm with you on the open cab as well. Way easier to clean! Enjoy it Tim.
We have around 1000 acres and I've been taking care of it all with a old Massey ferguson 165 for over 30 yrs. I just recently bought a new John Deere with a cab. Love it. Could never go back to an open station tractor.
About to buy a JD, started looking at a 5045, then with the deals they have out today I can get a 5075E for a couple thousand dollars more, so I'm thinking/almost positive I'm going to get a 5075E now after watching your videos. Appreciate your straightforward and honest reviews. You call it how you see, I like that.
no joke there wes up until a few years ago we were raking with a 4 wheeler that had a retrofitted electric hyrdaulic pump replaced it with a new holland T5.115 and i love that tractor we also mow with that new holland as well
Good choice for your needs, appreciate the reasons for this choice of machine(s). Like the depreciation reason also. Business is business, use tax codes, etc.
Tim you got what you wanted so the heck with the na says, if you got a cab you got to keep the ac working or you cant stay in it in the summer for what you are doing with it it will serve you well.
Mr Tim that is one nice looking tractor man! I was thinking what would be a nice touch is spraying the floor of the cab area with spray on bed liner to protect it and would be a nice touch when you do decide to sell!
I agree with your thinking about the tractor. The more bells and whistles the more can go wrong. The only thing that would make it better is Orange paint 😊
I've had my 5075E for 10 years now and am very happy with it. You just have to make sure you replace air and fuel filters constantly. I have never seen a motor so picky for clean air and fuel. I'm no tractor expert but I haven't replaced an air or fuel filter in 10 years on my truck but the tractor gets both every 200 hours. I have bought diesel from 4 different places so it's not the fuel.
You folks made the right decision based on your options. Mahindra falls in the same category of a simple no frills tractor that is heavy and does not have a DPF burn off system. Us around here do prefer the reliability offered by Mahindra and not having to stop and burn off the particulate in the filter.
I run a JD5320 that was bought new in 1995. It has never failed us or given us a minutes trouble. The only thing that has been done besides regular maintenance is new batteries. It has been an awesome machine. I am not a brand freak either, I just bought a new RK55 From Rural King because i wanted a 4x4, the 5320 is 2wd. The RK55 only has about 125hrs on it and so far I like ever bit as much as the 5320. Anyway, thats a really nice tractor that you bought and you bought what you needed/wanted and didnt buy what everybody else thought you needed.
Good points made during this video and you have clearly thought through your requirements. I like you use my tractor in the woods here in Louisiana and cabs will simply not work. Keep up the good work.
I think that it's your tractor buy what you want don't know why people want to Take you down when your the one buying it.if they want to buy the more expensive things let them if it does what you want more power to you little brother I like your tractor
I agree there really isn't an American made tractor. When I was tractor shopping I wanted to buy American but after the research I did I discovered exactly that there is no American made tractor. I ended up with a Kubota which was about $2000 more than the 5065E JD. I just didn't feel like the quality that the green paint is supposed to stand for was in the 5065E. Good luck with your tractor I hope it does well for you.
John Deere does build tractors in the USA. They build large farm tractors in Waterloo Iowa, I can't tell you the series number but I took a plant tour through the plant a year ago.
We bought a 60 horse John Deere in 2002 for bush hogging and garden stuff and it's never give us any trouble whatsoever. It's a 5320 I believe. It's was made in Georgia. My cousin has the 5303 which is a very similar tractor with the same engine (Yanmar I think) but his was made in India. There's not a dimes worth of difference in build quality between the two.
hey tim this is randy clayton with clayton logging in durham north carolina hey man nice tractor i like what you do on a every day basis in the woods .
How much weight did you add to the rear wheels. I’m retired military and have not used tractors a lot so I’m quite ignorant on the whole subject. I appreciate your channel and it’s because of your videos that I decided to purchase a JD 5075e with cab.
Nice Tractor, I got a really good deal on a 2014 5075e pre-tier 4 no dpf or egr with a woods bb840x mower. Ive put about 60 hours on the tractor before I owned it. it was my brothe-inlaws and I helped him mow his fields it now has 265 hours. He's had a few proplems with it. One is that it leaked diesel fuel out the tank, other was a hose clamp not tight, dealor sent a tech out and they thought it was a water pump. tech mamaged to damage the fuel line on the back of the injetor pump, it was leaking. A other annoying proplem it had, after shifting the tractor would get stuck in neutral, it would just beep and neutral flashed. Only way to get it going again was to put the power reverser in neutral then back in drive then it was fine. Had the dealor look at it, supposedly it was the neutral safety switch. It still does have that proplem but its rare when it does happen. One thing I wanted to warn you on, on the left side of the tractor, follow the fwd lever down to the trans. there's a switch with two wires on it. That switch is in a terrible spot. it has no protection at all, Ive already had some autumn olive bushes damage the sensor. grad the wires and ripped them off. it blew a fuse and the pto stopped and tractor was stuck in neutral, best of all it was in the autumn olive bushes fun times . No gear would work, found the fuse and now its working. I Fixed the wires and the next day it happened again, this time long grass in the field did it. I didnt want to keep replacing fuses so, I just taped the wires up and zip tired them out of the way. No proplems since. Now the only thing the light for the 4wd doesnt come on. thats all that sensor does. Why on earth the john deere engineers thought that would be ok to put the switch down there with no protection at all is beyond me, they even made a skid plate for the other solenoids and sensors on the trans, but thought that one was ok unprotected... So now Im going to have to fab up a skid plate for it, Go john deere engineers!!!
cool video man I wish I had a new tractor I have a late 80s jd which was broken down more than it ran this hay season and an early 90s Kubota that had a front hub go out before hay season that we couldn't get parts for until october. that was a big blow because we have a small opperation like you used to.
Thanks for the videos you do. I bought a 5075e largely based off your videos.. you should get a comp! I feel I made an informed decision. We do much the same with our tractors. Thanks.
There are some many tractors manufacturers nowadays so find the best one is difficult. Visually I fancy John Deer, its like legend to me, I like Fergusson Massey too. I think for price and value are very good Branson tractors. I would like to ask how reliable is this model. How often are service intervals and how much its costs? What is life expectancy?
If I could a word of advice on sprayer, you probably know this but don't let chemical sit in tank for long periods , it will break down and it will corrode anything metal. I had to replace all my standard metal piping to stainless steel , I flush with fresh water and vinager , and I blowout with air all piping and hoses at end of year during winter when I don't use it.
I never get the whole you shoulda bought or done this /that but its your money. I did ask about the cab since it was on the case but i do like your reasoning besides the cost. Especially if your in and out a lot it makes a difference. I hope to see more of these vids. I'm in the process of looking for land to build and use as i please (personal farming, shooting range, etc) but its hard to find here in CT.
Nice tractor sir. I have 80hp case w a cab 2wd. If i had it to do over I'd go w open cab. It's nice pulling my 15' batwing. But ig air doesn't work right u can't stay in it
axle end weights (like you have) are more reliable for the long term than fluid inside the tire. Sure you have benefit of the weight but the fluid is essentially salt inside the tire . calcium chloride or some such thing. That is highly corrosive to rims. And the most important part the shrader valve that holds the air in. It gums up the valve so when you check the air pressure or adjust air pressure the valve will eventually stick open and pressure unload the fluid from the tire until you can get it unstuck. if you hang some suitcase weights on the 4 corners of the disc you will get more penetration. they will work laid flat, laid ontop, of the angle iron too.
hey cotontop i enjoy ur videos just brought a 5075 too. not coming in until end of aug.i have a 3046 now but to small so i looked at the 4000 series but to small and to lite. so i will try the 5075 i think i will like it. i'm in new hampshire so lot of snow removeral. keep making the vid their cool later tator
We have the John Deere 5045E has 700 hours and has to get the transmission rebuilt the John Deere 5E series is shit but The rest of John Deere are the best things ever made Love the videos
Got mine on eBay. But not sure of the size of your tractor seat. I take care of 6 john deeres and 2 kubotas and have covers on all of them Here is a link. www.ebay.com/bhp/tractor-seat-cover
Plus the alternator on that charges a bit too much. Keep a eye on the acid in the battery and buy some battery terminal coating and coat the terminals, hold downs and any metal near the battery. Helps keep the corrosion at bay.
what bothers me more than your trl floor is at my fair grounds we have a demo derby and i see people pulling trl with no lights plugged in let alone no plug on the trk. i had one guy where half his deck boards missing and the other half not attatched and one car fell off the deck boards and i had to lift on it with my loader but i dont have the lift capacity so the owners were rocking it while another was trying to shove a board under the car. looks like a decent tractor. you say your steel wieghts 500lbs it just dont really look it on camera just laying there. how hard is it going to ve to put it on the deere. looking forward to seeing it outfitted with the loader
Think you made a good choice goin with Deere, long term they seem to hold together the best from everything I've been around, Case has finally caught up (almost) with Deere, but who the hell wants red over that pretty green anyway? Jealous for sure, nice looking setup man!
Nice Tractor. My brother bought a Mahendra 3 years ago because it was cheaper and it`s been broke down and in the shop more then he`s used it..Ya get what ya pay for If ya want cheap your gonna get cheap
Yes sir Tim looking great makes sense buy what you need some day when you use the sprayer can you make a video on how you hooker up including the pump just curious I'm looking for one and yea it's for my lawn and yea I spend lots of money on my lawn but that's because I choose to do that he'll some people buy dope some people drink there cash what ever I like toys and I've got something to show for it buy what you want see yaaa Napa Mike
if this dont sound right i am trying to stand in your corner on the dust with hay the more dust the better bush hog work you can work around and do it when the dust is not so bad
Amazing how eager youtube commenters are to spend your money for you, isn't it, lol. Just for grins, I went to JD and CIH's websites and "built" an identical 103 pto hp base spec utility tractor- just to see what results I got. JD6120E vs CIH Farmall130A. Guess who came out cheaper?? AND with a better spec? John Deere. And that's WITH a bunch of extra options. Neither price included any incentives or deals. I was kind of amazed, considering how much screaming there is on line about how green tractors are so much more expensive than anything else... Neither was CHEAP, but the Deere was cheap-ER. ( I forgot to check Kubota, because I forgot they make farm tractors now, lol)
Yeah and how many folks having problems with the 5075e shuttle shifter aka powerreverser ....among other problems....? A hell of a lot. It may last long enough for a few guys to plant their food plots to hunt once a year for a few hours. But, to depend upon it to make a living? Hell naw. Why doesn't JD have to recall all the issues they have? Back when made in the U.S. and computer and sensor free, not many issues back then and any mechanic including the farmer could repair them. Now mechanics depend on these diagnostic codes which are only as good as what's downloaded from JD. This is what happens when politicians accept $$$, from big corporate from pharma to food to our equipment. We have to live, or not live, with it. Corporate America 3rd party mfrd and 3rd party assembled should be held accountable for recalls ! F'ing unacceptable!!
84 months 0% APR no money down. They do have a "fee" for going out to 84 months. It has a schedule, the more you spend the higher that "fee" is but it's not bad at all. I needed my payment date changed, gave them a call and they were super cool about it. Took about 3 minutes on the phone. They also have a really nice website to manage your account. Super easy to navigate!
the zero percent financing is really not 0%...they have what is called a cash back..the cash that they would give back to you if you pay cash for your whatever you're buying..is more or less the interest on the loan.
+Sawmiller Smith I checked both ways and whether just paying for it and getting cash back would be better. The rebate I got off the tractor and zero percent smoked the cash back
Looks like a heck of a good decision. Detach loaders are nice as they are easier to move around in tight spots(like mowing in trees) and less noise from banging around when they wear. Easier to see as well. I'm with you on the open cab as well. Way easier to clean! Enjoy it Tim.

+Brian Johnson thank you Brian, I appreciate your views and comment!
Nice video and tractor Tim.
The plain and simple is you got the tractor YOU wanted.
i fool with a lot of hay... a cab is a must for that application.
no joke there wes up until a few years ago we were raking with a 4 wheeler that had a retrofitted electric hyrdaulic pump replaced it with a new holland T5.115 and i love that tractor we also mow with that new holland as well
Good choice for your needs, appreciate the reasons for this choice of machine(s). Like the depreciation reason also. Business is business, use tax codes, etc.
Nice tractor!!! I have the 5075 E cab with a 240 loader, does everything I need to do
Any issues with it 3 years later?
I have a good friend .Who bought the same model and is very pleased with it .
Tim you got what you wanted so the heck with the na says, if you got a cab you got to keep the ac working or you cant stay in it in the summer for what you are doing with it it will serve you well.
A#1 Excellent choice Tim..*"Nothin run's like a deere"* You coulda had Jay sittin on it..hahaha...Take Care Tim..
Mr Tim that is one nice looking tractor man! I was thinking what would be a nice touch is spraying the floor of the cab area with spray on bed liner to protect it and would be a nice touch when you do decide to sell!
I used to work on a farm in Canada. We had a case and you could not find wider tires for the front. Tim love the videos. Keep up the good work
I agree with your thinking about the tractor. The more bells and whistles the more can go wrong. The only thing that would make it better is Orange paint 😊
that is seriously one fantastic looking tractor definitely good for Bush hogging as what we call it over here in Australia grass slashing
Your trailer floor doesn't bother me but my OCD however says you have got to fix that floor!! LOL
Loven the vids! Thumbs up!
that's funny right there! hahaha
OCD can be a pain sometimes lol
+Shakes 73 LOL That's funny

I'd be for re locating that plastic tool box. But yeah it's all about your preference.
You should make a video of the dodge towing the tractor, interested to see how it handles it
I agree there really isn't an American made tractor. When I was tractor shopping I wanted to buy American but after the research I did I discovered exactly that there is no American made tractor. danschevy they're assembled in the USA.
made in, and assembled in are all different things.
just because something is assembled in the USA doesnt mean its made in the USA.
Mine only 2 years old, battery already go bad, have to jumpstart every morning; what’s the problem?
Have you ever considered the 4 series before getting the 5 ? If yes or no , why ?
Thanks for the info on the new Deer Tim. Apreciate all the good work you put into your vids.
Have a good weekend.
You as well Michael..Enjoy

hey tim this is randy clayton with clayton logging in durham north carolina hey man nice tractor i like what you do on a every day basis in the woods .
Are you going to add a light bar for evening work?
HowFarmsWork seem to find them very handy.
+Holistic Advocate I am going to do light improvements
LOL, light
It's a pretty tractor, that's for sure.
I own a Kubota M7060. I would have bought a 5075e, it was a toss up.
Did u check with LS on tractor ls has 2 yr bumper 6 yr drive train
How much weight did you add to the rear wheels. I’m retired military and have not used tractors a lot so I’m quite ignorant on the whole subject. I appreciate your channel and it’s because of your videos that I decided to purchase a JD 5075e with cab.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE IN YOUR LOADER COMPARED TO A 520 M LOADER ?
THANKS
cool video man I wish I had a new tractor I have a late 80s jd which was broken down more than it ran this hay season and an early 90s Kubota that had a front hub go out before hay season that we couldn't get parts for until october. that was a big blow because we have a small opperation like you used to.
Thanks for the videos you do. I bought a 5075e largely based off your videos.. you should get a comp! I feel I made an informed decision. We do much the same with our tractors. Thanks.
Oh I had to have a cab.
how long ago did you have cattle and why did you get rid of them?
Just curious, what would a yearly one time financed payment look like?
My 2015 5065E was Assembley in the US I believe it was the first year it was moved from India, date tag on frame rail left side of tractor
Tim nice tractor what is the hp and what make is the engine, my 2 JD's are yanmar powered.
Good video as usual Tim. You can load your front tires as well. Should give you a few extra 100lbs.
The nice thing about having loader all the time it's good for keep the weeds out of the radiator if you leave it down some that's what do it helps
Thats a good looking Tractor Tim, good luck with it!
great video and hello wes great to see you on other channels.
talking about the prices of tractors. we priced that same tractor with a loader and it was$12000 more than a case Farmall 75C with a loader. crazy
Boys that's a nice lookin ride there!!!
Randy J You use beet juice. It doesn't do anything to the wheel or tire.
William Uskoski antifreeze works best we use water in all our tractors
man you need to brand your trailer wood when done with ct3. I would think you could make one pretty easy. That would be a first and way freaking cool.
Where are the bumpers for the warranty?
+Kenneth Hedden bumpers?
cotontop3 Yea,you said bumper to bumper? Just fn with ya, keep the vids coming man!
+Kenneth Hedden lmao
You're the one that bought it you're the one that has to use it. If it works for you don't listen to the negatives.
hey cotontop i enjoy ur videos just brought a 5075 too. not coming in until end of aug.i have a 3046 now but to small so i looked at the 4000 series but to small and to lite. so i will try the 5075 i think i will like it. i'm in new hampshire so lot of snow removeral. keep making the vid their cool later tator
tim that is hilarious statement about ur trailer flooring.
what about the dodge you never did a update on it and told us what was wrong with it
Just got the same tractor added a loader and matched mowing deck.
quick tach on 3 point onlt needs pulled when unhooking springs will get weak way they are in video
We have the John Deere 5045E has 700 hours and has to get the transmission rebuilt the John Deere 5E series is shit but The rest of John Deere are the best things ever made Love the videos
Get one of them padded seat covers. You will love it for the air circulation and comfort. Plus it helps keep the yellow plastic from cracking.
+hogcat where do I find one?
Got mine on eBay. But not sure of the size of your tractor seat. I take care of 6 john deeres and 2 kubotas and have covers on all of them Here is a link. www.ebay.com/bhp/tractor-seat-cover
Plus the alternator on that charges a bit too much. Keep a eye on the acid in the battery and buy some battery terminal coating and coat the terminals, hold downs and any metal near the battery. Helps keep the corrosion at bay.
+hogcat thank u I'll look em up
that's a interesting thing that the john deere is cheaper there then new Holland up here its the other way around
surprised the heck outta me too!
This is the lower end john deere, the m and r series are much more expensive.
what bothers me more than your trl floor is at my fair grounds we have a demo derby and i see people pulling trl with no lights plugged in let alone no plug on the trk. i had one guy where half his deck boards missing and the other half not attatched and one car fell off the deck boards and i had to lift on it with my loader but i dont have the lift capacity so the owners were rocking it while another was trying to shove a board under the car.

My new goal for the week is to find an opportunity to use the CT3 term "more torquier." Love it!
nice tractor just missing the larger tires
Why did you get out of the cattle business? Nice video, thx.
Nice little tractor
If you would have let everyone pick out your tractor, I still think there would be fault in it.
+Brenton Medders I was waiting for someone to point that out
i love tractors. like you i hate cabs. i have a Kubota 70hp and a smaller 23hp that i use to mow and work around the barn and my horse lots.
just a side note John Deere loaders are made in Mexico. I used to make parts for John Deere loaders until they moved them to Mexico.
Looking at one down here in new Zealand you sold me on it
Cheers
Sounds like good business management!
Deutz beats any other brand. I work on a farm and worked with, jd, new holland, Kubota, massey, ford etc..
Cab tractors are great until the ac stop working. I have a cab tractor sometimes I hate it good looking tractor
A "business purchases" I like that!! Lol,, ya know man, if you got what the heck you wanted to hell with what others say of think..
+pyroman6000 Deere beat everyone here on price too.
A jd 6200 would be. Perfect tractor for u
High what size is your trailer. I'm trailer shopping and your looks like the perfect length

John Deere Financial is AMAZING!
Any input. I’m looking to buy soon.
@@javieracosta5528 Sure! What questions you got?!
What kind of financing structure are they offering. Wife and I each have 830+ credit. Was hoping to not have to put any money down.
Wasn’t sure what they offer and what makes them amazing.
Tim, you done good!!!
how bout mahendra tractor there pretty good
Did you said... Good morning primos ??
the zero percent financing is really not 0%...they have what is called a cash back..the cash that they would give back to you if you pay cash for your whatever you're buying..is more or less the interest on the loan.
+Sawmiller Smith I checked both ways and whether just paying for it and getting cash back would be better. The rebate I got off the tractor and zero percent smoked the cash back
american made no....american assembled yes.
Lavaughn Vanbrocklin Si señore
If he needs a cab he will just buy an old cheap ring that's just a second tractor for things that the Jd won't do
love the videos
Good reasoning--Thanks
good looking rig ! I love my 5210 john deere
people wonder why JD go to a auction and that will answer the question $$$$$
Keeping ac working in cab tractors in dusty environments isn't easy. A cab tractor with no ac sucks big time.
good Q @ A
