    The funniest thing to me about Paxton Lynch was when he was on the Steelers in 2019, after Ben Roethlisberger got hurt, their quarterback room was a second year third rounder, an undrafted rookie, and a fourth year first rounder and that fourth year first rounder was the one least likely to see the field. Another fun fact about Paxton Lynch is that he's apparently the only quarterback to be selected by teams in the AAF, USFL, and XFL and be benched in all three leagues.

    I'm a Rams fan and never disliked Goff but thought the trade to the Lions would help him because he needed to learn to improvise and play under chaos. I kept telling Lions fans who didn't like the trade, Goff did make it to the Super Bowl where the team was out coached even if at said so. Lions have something good going I hope things go thief way this season.

    • @nuraby_9228
      @nuraby_9228 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@spidamitchell8311 It's a team effort. The Patriots had a genius gameplan of switching defenses after McVay wasn't allowed to "coach" Goff through his earpiece, and forced Goff to make the right reads and adjustments on his own. Goff clearly wasn't able to do it at that Super Bowl.
      You can read this as 2 ways: Goff wasn't experienced enough at figuring out different coverage schemes since at the time he was only in his 3rd season in the NFL, McVay knew it, was covering for him by keeping the training wheels on and never bothered to take them off since the offense was so successful leading up to that Superbowl. Then when the Pats shifted defenses, McVay had no Plan B.
      Or Goff was so reliant on McVay doing all the coverage reading and since he didn't have to do it, he never learned how to read NFL coverages and having to make adjustments since McVay was doing it all,
      Either way, it's not as easy as blaming a single person since football is a team game and the entire Rams offense was awful that game.

    • @LordPichuPal
      @LordPichuPal 8 месяцев назад +2

      I was sad when we made the trade because I loved Stafford. However, I understood it was for the best that we hit the reset button and let Stafford get a chance to win elsewhere, and thought we got a good haul in return between Goff and the draft picks. And looking back at it now, it's worked out great. We got some solid talent with the picks, Goff's been a very solid QB for us, even if he does end up as just a bridge to our future starter down the line, and Stafford won a Super Bowl in his first year outside of Detroit proving once and for all he was always talented and being held back by the Curse of Bobby Layne. It's been impressive to see Goff take advantage of the situation and really continue to grow since the trade, too.

    I'm probably biased, as an Eagles fan, but Wentz deserved MVP that season. The problem was he missed his games at the *end* of the season - for an injury he sustained scoring a go-ahead touchdown against the team challenging us for top seed in the NFC - whereas Tom Brady missed his games at the *beginning* of the season... which I guess the voters forgot was for cheating. But, yeah, after seeing his backup win Super Bowl MVP, I think that just sorta lived in Carson's head. He got *much* more prone to hero ball after that point, and that turned from "great improvisation" to "too reckless with the ball", which is where he is now.

    If we took Dak instead of Cook we would’ve had a playoff run and potentially kept Jack Del Rio instead of leaving him for John Gruden who got rid of Cooper and Mack.

    I don't fault LA for their decision. Goff has been great so far in Detroit, but the Rams really didn't have the window of opportunity to wait that extra time for it all to come together in Goff's head. They took their shot, and got the QB that was ready to make the big play in the big game right then. It worked out for both teams; Rams won their Super Bowl, and Goff is hitting his stride right along with the rising Detroit Lions.

      The Cowboys have many issues, and their QB isn't one of them. As a Panthers fan (and a Cowboys fan as they are my #2 team) I wish we could be in their shoes, especially last season...

    Jared Goff is incredibly underrated. I hear far too many people say that he’s an unviable bridge quarterback that will be out of Detroit in two years. But I cannot disagree more with that assumption. For one, he’s 28, and still has some room to grow and improve.

    Just another example that drafting a QB is a total crap shoot. The fact that so many people wanted Paxton Lynch blows my mind

    Of the list, Dak Prescott and Goff have had the best careers so far of the bunch. 2014 was another year a ton of QBs were drafted - 14. Only a couple came out of that draft as well. Derreck Carr is well known and successful. So is Jimmy Garopolo who has an unfortunate knack for injuries. After that the draft really did nothing as well.

    You missed that Jerry Connor Cook after missing out on Lynch. The AFC West single-handedly gave the Cowboys a franchise qb. But also Dak wasnt even the top qb on the Cowboys' draft board at the time

    I will never forgive the NFL for making sure that the Rams went to the Super Bowl in 2018. I truly believe that the NFL was trying to form its fan base because Los Angeles doesn’t seem to want football. The Saints were amazing that year and deserved to be there. I still don’t understand how the ref so blatantly kept the flag in his pocket on that disgusting pass interference. He was right on top of that play. And Drew Brees would’ve scored more than three points in the Super Bowl. Disgusting.
