  • TRIGGER WARNING: This episode video content about suicide.
Jason Fox spent 20 years in the special forces, carrying out perilous missions in the most remote & harsh environments. But it's when he left the military after being diagnosed with PTSD that his story really took a turn. Now a staple on our screens on SAS: Who Dares Wins, Jason has used his platform to speak openly about his mental health struggles and how he manages them.
This was such a fascinating conversation, and I can't thank Jason enough for being so vulnerable. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it.

Wow, thank you so much for doing this podcast with Jason Fox. What a guy, funny, interesting, intelligent, a real life super hero. I think that label gets used to much. But in Jason's case I think it's spot on. I really enjoyed his books that he has wrote and have had a impact with me and my issues suffering with mental health and anxiety issues. And I've got to say, really enjoyed watching him beast the people on the SAS show on channel 4. But he also builds them up if can see they are trying. In short just a great man, and human being.

Jason really hits the nail on the head during this interview.
I didn't do anything like Jason did but when I left my head was very much in the same place. Everyone was focused on my service in the Army but reflecting back it was the fact I just didn't have the skills to deal and balance the everyday life outside of the military. We function at a high level in the military but your personal life is actually in very bad condition. As soldiers, we also tend to use things in our lives to drive us and keep us in the right mindset, but as they start to fall apart, we struggle to put two and two together.
Also, there os definitely something about growing up in Luton that wires you different 😂.
Thanks for talking Jason. Blessings brother.

Good thoughtfull intelligent reserved guy. Not big timing it like some on pod casts.
I remember years ago going into my unit to hear someone on running machine. I turned corner to my horror and shock it was a 22 guy crying his eyes out. Turned out relationship issues.
Jason came close to edge and turned it round. He is thought full and clever. I lost a former work collegue a 22 guy last year he topped himself. Reg Association is doing and offering mental health course so we can all help each other and blokes that live near who have issues. Shows things are changing for the better. The actual mil is rubbish at looking after blokes. Sad world.
    Interesting interview.
I never understood how blokes could find the time to get married or father kids. Human nature but rarely works out.

I understand that bit where you feel a bit more scared when you get older and have other personal responsibilities that come along.
A lot of things play into it, but it is clear Jason has done some serious psychological work on himself, I hope he continues to do well on his journey.
I have been out for 14 years now and still struggle with PTSD a bit, I had a serious painkiller addiction for 9 years and been massively suicidal, but have been clean for 5 years now and feel like living life again, I am doing so much better now on all counts of life.
I am getting regular employment now in my dream job of as an advanced race track driving instructor.
I had always had a talent for it, I have raced successfully for a few years now and one of Australia's top drivers is now my boss and good friend. To everyone else struggling, you can and will get through the pain, stay strong to all that have been through those hard times. Go and chase some dreams, each and every day, choose each day ❤😀

Lots of people saying she looks distracted…I think she has mentioned in the past she has ADHD…and non-eye contact and looking around is a very common behaviour trait. As someone with ADHD, if it’s a heavy convo I have to look away and cannot look directly at the person talking or I start tearing up 😅

The only way to truly overcome demons is by the blood of Yeshua (Jesus!), the power of God! God supernaturally brings His love to cover us and heal every last bit of ourselves so we can be in perfect union with Him forever! We just have to ask Him to forgive us and help us and He changes everything by His love!!
