This has hit home for me. I lost my brother in the Falklands War when I was nine, and it totally smashed me. When my family got confirmation that he was dead (reported missing in action for few days beforehand), my father let out a scream like his soul was leaving his body. I'm 48 now and remember it vividly. Even now, I'm in tears and hyperventilating as I remember it. It's the most frightening sound I've ever heard.

Maybe. Or he could snap and/or end up severely traumatised by the actual reality of what goes on compared with the egocentric imaginings and projections of war as happens to so many people. My brother was always kinda like this lad, really nervous looking all the time but he tried so hard to fit in with the expectations imposed on him from everywhere in society and joined up. Now he's in sheltered care for the rest of his life and barely even there anymore because it totally broke his mind. Be REALLY fcking careful who you encourage to do things YOU think they SHOULD do, because it may well not be something they can handle at all at the end of the day.

That lad should be very proud of himself for putting his family feelings first whilst missing his older brother and supporting his other brother by sacrificing what he wanted to do to honour his brother. Massive respect to him at that age and continued massive respect to anyone who puts themselves last to make sure everyone else is looked after.

    Dear Channel 4,
The video was extremely emotive for me; I really appreciate you sharing this moment. Please consider fading out a little less abruptly; the young man was still talking when the video cuts off and I feel like that seems a bit overly terse in light of the context of the narrative. Thanks,

What a really honest account of a young mans pain That was so sad to watch yet I felt so much respect and admiration for how you handled that situation . Travis's death was well documented on one of Ross Kemps tours of Afghan, then there was a follow up program later when he met his mum, it broke my heart watching it. Fair play to you mate, I was a Royal Marine at the same time as Travis although I never had the pleasure of meeting him. Go get that green lid mate, make us all proud 👍

But as harsh as it sounds you shouldn't cry if they die in battle because they did what was right and they died doing it and we extremely respect everybody who gave there life. It was there choice, not your mate be proud of yourself as they were proud of our country we all lose somebody at war. I served 10 years in the Royal Marines in the 1960's, got a couple of G.S.M's (now known as the A.S.M I believe.) I joined as a Junior Marine, a few weeks after leaving school. I was a bit shy and lacking in confidence. My weight was 9 stone 1lb, (literally a lightweight). As soon as I entered the service I came out of my shell and found the focus and commitment that I needed. Milo only needs to have the right mental attitude and he could also do it.
From my experience I think that this lad Milo needs the sort of comradeship that you can only get in the military. This comradeship did me a power of good, and I thoroughly enjoyed being just "one of the lads". The experience was the making of me, which I'll never forget.
Milo has come on and made excellent progress during this series, and I was happy for him that he was selected as one of the three to pass the selection process.
Top Marks Milo. Good luck for the future.
