I honestly still love my 8 years old a6000-and still get great results with it-but it's definitely showing it's age. The a6700 is the upgrade I've been waiting for! Thanks for the awesome review.
Glad to know You are still putting that Tiny Beauty to use. It's the camera I started with, and It never ceased to impress me with its performance. So many good memories and moments captured with this amazing piece of machine.
Same here. I've had my a6000 since 2015 and have until now not been able to justify the cost of a body upgrade considering I've mastered my a6000 and the results I achieve with it. Only upgraded glass multiple times until now. This is the camera I will upgrade to! Thanks Sony for finally listening!
I seriously started with an a6000, learned a lot, travelled in Oman and took some great shots; i then upgraded to an A6400 having watched your video on it, got the 'famous 3+ 1 Sigma's and spent 2 years cruising Southern Turkey and shooting the amazing ruins there. I resisted the impulse to go full frame - and am i glad - this new A6700 has all that i will every need and having watched your usual excellent video will be getting one - and selling my lovely hardly used old Nikon 7200 + lenses!! Turkey - here i come again!
@ryanthomasburns I have the same question. But let me guess at the answer for still photography. For autofocus APSC lenses from Sigma, there are the 16mm f/1.4, 23mm f1.4, 30mm f1.4, 56mm f1.4, 10-18mm f/2.8, and 18-50mm f/2.8. That's Sigma's entire lineup. If you want manual focus, try Voigtländer. I have both Sigma and Voigtländer lenses, and they are excellent.
@@vintovkin I still enjoy it. The AF is pretty night and day compared to the 6000. The colors and photos are great. If you're invested in the APSC line and have a bunch of lenses for it, moving to the 6700 seems like a logical step. If you're on the fence you may want to consider renting one for a week and seeing how it goes!
You already pointed that the AF difference is huge, and that's good to know. But how do you feel about ISO? a6000 really looks bad at anything higher than 1600 in my opinion. The only reason I'm willing to upgrade is the that little edge in low light photography, but if it's not substantial I might as well go with full frame a7C2 for example.
I was literally JUST about to upgrade to a A7iv from my a6400 this week, didn’t even know this was coming out. SO grateful for this video! You’re amazing Arthur. Thanks.
Arthur,as an APSC shooter, You can't imagine how sincerely I appreciate Your honest reviews. Grateful and Thank You for all the amazing works You put out.
I'm a professional photographer and I used an a6500 for the last 7 years for my private travel photography and sometimes on paid jobs too (photo and video). I'm very excited to upgrade to this, the a6600 just didn't seem like enough of an upgrade at the time to justify spending 1200 bucks on the upgrade (with the same sensor and stuff).
I am also a semi-pro photographer and I have been using my a6400 for all of my b-roll. I’ve been waiting for the a6700 for so long and it is an instant buy for me.
Agreed. Still rocking my a6500, and when the a6600 was released it didnt seem at all like an upgrade. But this a6700 definitely looks like a good upgrade finally.
Have you considered go for a7r4(new/used) instead? Although sounds like a waste of only using it in 26MP crop mode, but dual SD, more buttons, and equally good IBIS should be a good package for you.
@@zegzbrutal I used that camera and I find it too big for what I do. Also it doesn't do 10bit Video. It really would be a waste only using it in crop mode.
Definitely wanting to get this one to replace my a6000! I've been learning on my a6000, but it definitely feels its age. I kept looking at the newer releases, and just kept holding off. This one feels like it'll be that one to replace it. I was dreading jumping up to full frame, and I am so glad this is coming out.
Ha! I have pretty much the exact same story. Got an a6000 to learn with, still have it after years and a lot of money on lenses. Always thinking about going to one of the full frame models. And now... this! :)
As my preferred shooting subjects are macros and landscapes, the most welcome two features of A6700 are focus bracketing and 900 seconds long exposure. 😀
Everything past “control dial on the front” is just a bonus for me. 😂 I’m rooting for an A7CII that can match this camera’s button count. I’d love to get back to an all-rangefinder style collection with full physical controls.
An a7C II with two card slots would be the perfect camera, combining features, image quality, portability and aesthetics. And then five years later, at a reasonable price😂
I have been watching your videos for 3-4 years. Both you & your wife are a great couple. Just love the way you review the products. I sold my a6100 few days ago. wanted to buy a 7c. now i am confused
@@ArthurR Fairly casual photographer with an A6000 here and the Sigma 18-50mm (and soon the 70-350mm Sony). Putting video aside, what major benefits does the A6700 bring for someone like me? I understand it brings a whole heap of AF improvements, better EVF, back screen, etc, but initial impressions are that I wouldn't necessarily see a major leap in performance/image quality - would love to know how wrong I am!
This appears to be the pinnacle of this camera line. It has everything that I would want or need to replace my a6600, especially the pivotal rear viewfinder screen.
Really tempted to replace my a6600 as well. If I had any inclination of this coming out (wasn't paying attention really), I would have cashed out a6600 body a little sooner when it was selling for $850.. Now BH is offering $600 for a6600 body only.. :( Hopefully Sony has one those 'trade in events' again.
@@bourbonafterbucks did you watch reviews for a6500? xD. It records in 4K at least for 2 hours. Sony solved the problem with overheating a long time ago, what a misleading.
I have an a6500 and until then I hadn't found any camera worth changing for the price, except for the canon r7, but I didn't want to leave Sony because of the lens issue. But it looks like the a6700 will be worth the trade off
I've been using my A6300 for quite some time, It has been my work horse and has allowed me to capture some of the best moments of my life. But after seeing Sony drop the A6700 last year I've always wanted to upgrade. And today, I did just that. I have to say the A6700 is a marvel of technology. It was well worth the two thousand dollars AUD (or dollarydo's) the color science is much improved and the IBIS is such a great to have for run and gun videography, especially when paired with a Sony OSS equipped lens, the two work in tandem perfectly and is really smooth. Overall pretty happy with it, it is going to take me into my first paid photo shoot, and the beginning of my photography business!
Arthur congratulations on the growth of your channel. I have been watching you from almost the beginning. I have learned quite a lot from you and bought the sigma trio happily from your recommendation. This camera shows that Sony's engineers are not just punching a time clock, they take pride in pushing forward the technologies that they have developed. Thanks for all that i have learned from you in rekindling my love of the art of Photography.
I’ve built a good APS-C lens collection over the last year or so, and using them all on an a6000. Lately I’ve been wanting to sell it all and step up to full frame, but now I might just get the a6700 instead.
same here dude, i have my a6000 still too, but from what i heard, dont sell your a6000 as anyone i met who has, regretted it, and i bet itll be worth more in the future lol
You're absolutely right ! This is the camera I have been waiting for. I started with the NEX-5 then moved on to the A6000 and a6300 when they came out. Since then I stuck with the a6300 because the newer Sony APSC cameras always were too small an upgrade to make it worth my while. This camera seems to have it all and would be a major upgrade to my a6300 in almost every respect. Will definitely be getting it and upgrading some of my lenses as well. As someone who had no intention of going full frame I had almost given up hope ... Halleluja ! Now investing more in my APS-C setup makes sense again !
1000% yes to the “what about the crop at 4K 120.” I’m still blown away at the fact that a $1200 body can shoot 4K. I remember years of having to rent higher end cameras just to get 240fps at 180 and now I could buy one on a whim. It’s crazy how these things keep improving!
Nah man, the 4k 120 on this camera looks like poop thanks to the massive crop. Sony cripple hammered this bitch hard. I'll be waiting for the GH6s, which will destroy this camera hands-down in terms of video.
1200 dollar body? Jesus where you find this for 1200??????????????? Its 2000+ euros in Europe, overpriced as heck, for a bit more you can buy way better cameras. Also, 4k shooting cameras have been a thing since 2014, its rather sad to see you simp this much for a Corporation, 4k60 though, if my memory serves me right, it was Sony A7sIII and Fujifilm XT-3 that set those standards back in the day.
Went from a6400 to a7C because I wanted a fully articulating screen and the best dynamic range. The dynamic range improvements weren't as vast as I had hoped and I ended up missing all my small lenses, so I'm going back to APS-C with this camera now that it has a fully articulating screen and best-in-class AF. I'm glad I procrastinated in selling all my APS-C gear!
I just recently bought an A7C and it is within the allowed return period in amazon. Would you say this is a better camera for photography?… I also have a few prime FE lenses would they work well if I get this APS-C camera?.. The MSRP is $1,399 so its even cheaper than the A7C
The A7C shouldn’t be the benchmark for FF dynamic range. It rehouses the old A7III sensor. The newer generation sensors (everything since the A7SIII release, excluding the re-releases of the A7RIII/IV) are much better.
@@trogdor "much better"? I’ve wondered about that. According to DXOmark measurements, the improvements in dynamic range since the A7III are so small that in my opinion they shouldn’t matter in practical applications. A third of a stop may sound like a lot, but will you actually notice? In my opinion, no. Unless maybe we’re talking about video - can’t really comment on that tbh.
I’m in a similar place. I upgraded from an a6300 (which I still really like!) to an A7C for better low light performance. I’ve since discovered a host of genius features that I use all the time. But APS-C systems are still smaller. I did sell my APS-C lenses, and now I’m wondering whether the a6700 would have been the better camera for me. But then again, my reason for FF was low light and while the a6700 is probably one of the best low light APS-C cameras on the market, it still doesn’t reach FF levels. The video specs are fantastic, but currently I don’t need them because HLG happens to fit my bill really well. I think it really depends on one’s individual needs, but the a6700 seems to be a stellar camera in pretty much every department.
TBH IM literally blown away ! I've been wanting to go for the a6600 for a while for a more Compact package than the a7||| which im used to but mighty lovely sony just made a piece of art ! that leaves no hesitation to go for an APSC Over A "Budget Full Frame" or middle range even ,the a6700 is a lot of equipment in one small package with a very reasonable price 🎉❤
I first subscribed to ur channel because of ur a6400 video. To this day, I was planning wether or not to upgrade. Until the a6700 comes along. Boy do we all come far from this wait!
Just so you know how much I respect your opinions, I stopped another RUclips channel to watch this first. I trust your judgement more than anyone else. If you are right about the price I am hovering with the mouse on release date!
Wow you’ve really made it Arthur! Breaking the news (at least to me 😆) on a brand new APS-C body. Now I just need another Amazon price mistake to pick this up for $98. 😂
Got my new A6700 yesterday. Upgrading from my old faithful A6000 to this new powerhouse. And i'm very happy with my upgrade wich is massive. This is indeed really a mini A7IV/V in an APS-C sized body. With this new A6700 camera i really believe that the Sony APS-C line really has begon with a counter offensive to become a even more serious businesspartner of the full frame mirrorless camera's also for professionals. As you(Arthur) mentioned at the end of this video.
Great review. I think this is the one to get over the A7Cii and A7CR. It gets the same autofocus for way less and a better grip. I'm starting to understand that aps-c really isn't a downgrade from full frame. You get lighter lenses and similar performance. Thanks
Great review Arthur. So many Sony knockers out there who are full frame only mentality and won’t accept that the best camera is the one in your hand, whether full frame, apsc,micro43 or an old box Bronwie. The best open and honest review I have watched.
Awesome. Absolutely awesome. I've been using 3x A6400's and a single A7S III and been thinking of replacing the A's with an A7 IV (Not an S or R, the simple one). Looks like this is by far the better choice. Thank you for your review Arthur, long time fan!
I've been using the A6600 (mostly for vlogging) for the past 2 years and the biggest disappointment has been the in-camera stabilization (lens E 2.8 G 16-55 G) contributed to by my shaky hands. (I did buy a gimbal but never use it). IF the stabilization is significantly improved on this then it is extremely tempting to upgrade from the A6600. Awesome review, thanks.
It’s improved, and it has active (electronic) stabilization. But it’s not like the 8-stop stabilization of the A7R5. That camera is incredibly stable. This 6700 is WAY better handheld than the 6600.
Thanks Arthur, I love your approach, you share relevant info mixed with a good of enthusiasm, great knowledge and you are not afraid to ask for better solutions. Thanks for your hard thoughtful work, I hope you continue on doing the good work that you do. Much Thanks. Patrick
can you see the difference in photo quality? I wanted to sell my old A6300 and buy the A7iii (to have better photos, same/better video quality). Now the a6700 has messed it all up:)
At the time the a6600 was just a battery upgrade and slightly better AF camera. The technology just wasn’t here yet for the a6600 to be as advanced as the a6700. I’m glad that time has finally come and I looking forward to upgrading my a6400.
@@jirehla-ab1671 apples and oranges. The a7c is just a compact version of the now aging a7III. The a6700 is an APS-C camera loaded with new tech from the a7IV and a7rV. I’ll bet the a7cII will be about $1000 more than a6700. So for those who don’t need FF the a6700 is a bargain.
Someone at Sony took notes from the community, finally! I'm not ready to part with my a6400 yet but I do salivate at many of the features here. And I hope soooo much that with the new menus/software this will finally be compatible with MonitorPlus. That little app put Sony to shame with how superior it is as a monitoring app.
@@garretreed9709 May be. I have it but.. I don't know if I can recommend it. No stabilization, clunky menu, micro-usb / UHS-1 SD speed so a raw burst takes ages to write and so forth. I still love it, and it's my 2nd camera after the a5000 but I admit that I was a newb back then and youtube vloggers oversold the camera for what it is. My biggest remark - but this pertains to any Sony APS-C is the poor native lens lineup. Either mediocre or premium priced but beaten by Sigma and Tamron, which don't have lens stabilization. Just my two cents, because I wish I payed more attention to these things when making the decision. Whatever you buy if it's newer than say 2018-2019 you can't really go wrong, I'm mostly nitpicing here :) As a reference, started out as a street and landscape hobby, now I use it for events (mostly at night!), product photography and interior/architecture photography (the Laowa 9mm f2.8 is a fantastic lens for this)
You buy a good one. I bought that one too and have 3 lenses, two prime and one zoom. Still cheaper then the A6700. Although I liked the feel at my hand. Tested there at the store but I had an budget in mind and possibility have prime lenses. I am loving using every day my Sony ZV E10. I hope your wife too. 😁
This is the camera I've been waiting for!! I am mainly into video and I needed a camera that at least records 4k60 and this is the camera for me!!! I have 3 a6500 and A7II for photos. This will be perfect! :)
Finally, a6700 is in my hand now. It's so much better than my previous NEX-5N and ZV-E10. The performance and features are impressive, very excited to use this in my next trip. It's really the camera that APS-C folks have been waiting for.
Hi @@MinaNasr91 I shoot photos mostly, and I can tell that the AF is much better than any previous camera. But I still don't have a chance to shoot a long outdoor 4k60 yet
I have the A6600 and I think its not the time to upgrade yes there is a new nice options with the a 6700 but there is not that big different the change for now
I have been waiting a long time to upgrade my a6400 and the a6700 sure looks like this is the one. I’m glad Sony waited until they developed more high end cameras where the technology could trickle down to this camera. If they had not waited this would have been a hoo hum upgrade of the a6600. Great job Sony. I like getting advanced technology cheap! I definitely will be getting the a6700 to complement my a7IV.
I’m definitely grabbing this! I’m not even going to pretend that this is a lightweight in the camera world! This is a killer crop censor heavy weight champion! I do believe it has real pro features but honestly any camera can be used professionally! I’ve used my a6300 side by side with my a7iv and NOBODY noticed the differences in pictures. This would be killer for a pro rig on a budget! Now use the extra money to get some more expensive glass!
First id like to say.. ive bought alot of gear watching your videos.. and you've saved me ton of money.. Thank you and continue... Lumix Shooter here! I dont own any Sony gear. Buying into this system now or waiting a little longer makes sense for me.. I'm holding out for the A7C II' release and features. However I still plan to purchase this camera regardless. It's the best apsc camera released to date. Only camera close to this would be Canon's R7. This camera is perfect for majority of my needs and finally we have an articulating screen on their A6 apsc line. I have no idea why Sony hasn't done this sooner but im glad they did now. Along with a larger grip and insane auto focus.. I'm willing to give up weather sealing and full frame for these features.. Plus 10 bit video with majority log profiles.. I'm definitely purchasing but when depends on the A7C II release and features.. The gear I currently have can hold me over until that time. Oh, the shutter! Sony didn't cripple the shutter as Canon did with their R8 ff.. which makes the 6700 more inviting for me due to flash photography. Sidenote: Sigma 18-50 2.8 Tamron 28-200 2.8 Rokinon 135 1.8 auto Rokinon 135 2.0 manual.. Insane with this camera body.
Really exciting release from sony. Even if they release a new a7cii it would be hard to beat the a6700, specially at this price. Time to upgrade my 6500 🎉
Arthur: Best Review by far I've seen from anyone! Just wonderful! I'm an international traveler and photographer, also wanting to get into video documentaries. My A6600 was with me for 4 years with no problems, even after at least 2 drops, until it was stolen 6 months ago. I've been waiting, waiting, and waiting to buy another camera anticipating that SONY would FINALLY release an upgrade to the 6600. What people do not get, is that SIZE and WEIGHT MATTER!!! It's NOT just the small body size (it's tiny compared to many full frames) but also, the zoom lenses are equally small :). I DO plan on buying this camera soon, along with the sony 18-135mm and sony 70-350mm lenses. This whole camera bundle is still so tiny that it easily fits into the Altura Photo Camera Sling Bag.
I currently own a6600 and i use the camera for pictures, no where near any kind of professional photographer, but love the aps camera, would you move up if you already owned a6600
Even better AF which was already great in the a6400 is nice of course. The larger sensor, also nice. Menu and touch functionality is still behind the competition, no IBIS improvements, no dual card slots. Missed opportunity to improve those. Not that that is necessarily bad - but they could've done more. After 4 years it would have been enough time for a full redesign of the a6xxx series. That's the problem I've always had with Sony, they are good cameras - even one of the best in AF - but I feel they always hold back in certain areas. Not regretting my switch to G9 and GH6 though I wish those had Sony's AF. Then they would be perfect :-)
People whine too much about tech. Cameras are just tools. Imagine back then in 1985 film era(I was only around 6 years old then) Canon and Minolta users complaining about the menu system, or IBIS or Animal and Human Eye AF of the cameras they have posting rants in youtube...not. Photographers then were better with full manual exposure and AF, and some would be happy to have a roll of film with at least 400 ASA/ISO or even 800. We are too spoiled right now but I respect the photographers back then in the 70s 80s the National Geographic magazines I have from those time the photos were amazing.
I‘ve been using A6000 for almost 7 years as an ameteur photographer, it still performs well on most of my shooting scene! The more experienced the photographer is, the less attractive for those functions(AI focusing etc) I guess.
I have the A7iii and the A6600. I'm probably going to get this. In Mark Galer's video on this camera, he points out that you can build a two-kilo kit that will cover 15mm to 525mm full frame equivalent, and will fit into a medium satchel bag. It will be a godsend for travel creators.
I'm assuming you do lots of video. I can't see upgrading from my 6600 because I don't do video and there aren't enough upgrades to validate me selling my 6600 to get this. It does look like a sweet camera though.
@@bryanevans5398 If you just shoot stills, the only significant upgrade is the AI autofocus. It's just a bit better on rolling shutter, when using electronic shutter, too.
Just watched the live premier of the A6700. It's the dogs danglers. The price for the UK is less than I thought it would be. Every feature blows my trusty old A6000 out the water. No doubt some will complain that the EVF should have been higher resolution etc. It's good enough for me. Just wondering if anyone knows if it can do focus stacking. Its looking like my next camera for sure.
@@wayfairing_soul Thanks for reply Steven. I'm proper chuffed at the spec on the the A6700 and you have just made my day in regards the focus stacking. Will be a god send for landscape. Looks like it has some new picture styles to try out when using Jpeg etc. Had my A6000 since 2018. Ive learnt the art of photography using it. For all its faults ie low res EVF and not the fastest at capturing moving subjects when using AF lenses. Still love it to bits. That and my RX100va will now be my back ups cameras. I was so near to throwing some wedge at the A6600, so glad I've waited. 👌
What surprised me is that high ISO performance is worse than the A6600 when compared side by side on DP Review's studio comparison charts. But the AI features, especially tracking focus in video, does seem pretty cool! Not quite useful to me as a professional photographer, but still seems fun to play with.
Great review and info but really don't see myself updating from my a6400 unless I go fullframe. I do see the great advances but I feel my images from my 6400 and the lenses I have are great and I don't do video at all so no benefit to me of those things.
Thanks for the clear review on the Sony a6700. I have been using my a6000 and a6400 for a variety of shoots. Your review has convinced me to get the a6700 and add it to the family.
A6000 user here and seriously considering the a6700. When we went mirrorless with the a6000 we did so because of size. Smaller lenses with an APS-C sensor but the flexibility of interchangeable lenses. I’ve kinda felt disappointed in the APS-C lineup over the past years as the tech didn’t really seem to be improving much. I know megapixels are not everything, but you’d think that there would be a decent resolution jump in the sensors over the last decade. I like the idea of the APS-C because of the compactness compared to full frame cameras but still the same flexibility. The lack of a significant sensor resolution jump is the biggest disappointment; however, the A6700 is high on our radar to consider the upgrade.
I started with a6300 and loved it! Then bought into the full frame hype with a7iii but was never impressed with and noticeable difference in my photos or video. I'll be seriously considering g going back to the 6700! Thanks for all your great work!
How does it compare to the X-S20? - does it have open gate? - also it's 600 megaBITS, not bytes!, bytes would be 8x higher or 4800 megabits :) - The X-S20 does 4k60 as a webcam, no software needed and 7 stops IBIS including 6.2k open gate. This Sony looks amazing but Fuji is surprisingly holding their own this time! - I do wish they had features like focus breathing comp, the F2 Fuji primes have terrible breathing. But as for the AI digital zoom, that's very cool but is something that can be applied in post more effectively to that 6.2k open gate footage :)
Thanks Arthur, you have the best take on this camera of anyone on RUclips. I'm thrilled for it and, as an a1 owner (along with a7c, a6400, zv-e10 and Canon EOS r8...yes, I use all of them,,.for specific things), I will be most definitely be picking this one up (probably have to sacrifice the Canon in order to make it happen, but just testing the waters with that one). I love that this appears to be the same body as the a7c with a much bigger grip. I'm hoping that the a7c II will be similar to this but full frame. I'm a photographer first and just getting my feet wet with videography so this seems like a perfect camera to add to my arsenal.
Fantastic video review! I appreciate how you don’t try to interject highly opinionated comments, but rather seem to stick to a well balanced, fair, open minded commentary on the incredible new range of features and design changes. I love the “fast” pacing of your video as well. I mean that sincerely, I didn’t feel like I was sitting through a lot of general drivel and instead was drawn into the rapid paced deep dive into learning a LOT about this fantastic new camera option for people.
Thank you. The 6700 is out of stock or not arrived at all yet where I shop, but I've decided it is worth the wait. My a6000 died yesterday (shutter stuck closed, none of the reset methods have worked). The major bummer is that I have a day planned next week that I REALLY need a camera for - and the cell just doesn't cut it.
So excited, IT WANT IT!! Perfect replacement for my A6500. What's the shortest exposure time? That's so helpful in sunlight situations to have very small exposure time, so that you don't need an ND filter.
An update - I now own the A6700 and forget the negative reviews! The EVF is fine, the screen is more than fine, in fact with the touch functions it is actually magnificent. The image quality is superb and the AF is out of this world. I cannot make it miss focus on anything! It even picked up someone riding a motorbike wearing a helmet! I come from an A6400 and would consider this camera a MASSIVE upgrade. Ergonomically it feels like a proper camera you can hold with a proper grip. It's the camera I have been waiting for. There are so many other fine tweaks they have made which are too numerous for a comments column, but at the price it is definitely worth the upgrade!
@@DDHDTV I think so - not just the fact the AF is nailed every time, but there seems a certain higher level of clarity to my eye - I am converting the RAW to DNG first as there's no Adobe support yet, so there may be a slight increase to come. People are obsessed with megapixels, but the sensor is newer, it's an upgrade on the A6400 even if the resolution isn't much different
Thanks for the great review! Appreciate your takes and mindset which is similar to my own. Been staying disciplined to not jump on the 6600 due to price and so many innovations that have happened since. Still concerned about overheating and I’ll be shocked if it’s under $1500. Would love to see more footage and photos from your use with it. Thanks again :)
I honestly still love my 8 years old a6000-and still get great results with it-but it's definitely showing it's age. The a6700 is the upgrade I've been waiting for! Thanks for the awesome review.

I'm so glad to see these comments with other people with an a6000. This a6700 might be when I finally upgrade.
Same here. I've had my a6000 since 2015 and have until now not been able to justify the cost of a body upgrade considering I've mastered my a6000 and the results I achieve with it. Only upgraded glass multiple times until now. This is the camera I will upgrade to! Thanks Sony for finally listening!
im on the same boat with my a6000. a6700 specs and price is very very temping upgrade for me.
A6000 users, raise your hand!!! 😂😂 I think this is the right time to put our a6000 to our museum

Lol I see you Jason! I need to hire you to do some voice acting for me next time!
Excellent comment. May I ask, what are the Sigma 3 + 1 lenses you referenced? New to Sony and considering options for glass. Thx in advance!
Picked up my 6700 a few weeks ago, finally letting my trusty 6000 rest. It's amazing and I am so glad I stuck with this line.
My 6000 has broken recently:((( i'm considering 6700. What can you say about it now? Is it still worth it after several months of using?
@@vintovkin I still enjoy it. The AF is pretty night and day compared to the 6000. The colors and photos are great. If you're invested in the APSC line and have a bunch of lenses for it, moving to the 6700 seems like a logical step. If you're on the fence you may want to consider renting one for a week and seeing how it goes!
@@BrianSuk thanks:)
I still use the A6500 and still love it.
Been learning photography with a a6400 - this is finally something I can really consider as a next step from the first impression
You took the words right out of my mouth. Cant wait to grab this over my a6000.
Congrats on waiting just long enough to see this video. I have the a6600 and already I'm blown away by all the new features. It's on my bucket list.
@@bondgabebond4907 I was so close to getting the a6600, especially seeing it on Prime Day sales right now. Glad I'm waiting.
agree! been shooting wiht my a6000 for 8 years. will wait for reviews with low light performance and then decide
My biggest joy about this camera being released is that older models get a price cut :)
I got the a6400 3 years ago cuz of your review and now I know what I’ll get in the future! Thanks for the recommendation :)
I have been watching your videos for 3-4 years. Both you & your wife are a great couple. Just love the way you review the products. I sold my a6100 few days ago. wanted to buy a 7c. now i am confused
Nice! I have a a6000 and did not feel that it was worth upgrading until now!
This is going to feel incredibly different going from the A6000!
Same here. Woohoo
I'm in the same boat ( using the a6000 8yrs) and can't wait to finally upgrade.
Same for me
This appears to be the pinnacle of this camera line.
Be aware of overheating. Some reviews report only 14 min of record time at 4K 60 fps in an inside temp environment.

@@EazyRed note taken. Thanks man
As a huge fan and owner of the a6600 this is so exciting having all the new features I wanted and more.
It’s crazy how these things keep improving!
my 5 year old phone can shoot 4K60 on both front and rear camera
@@drchtct it may have that many pixels but its absolute shit and horrible looking in all other regards bruhhh
*1700EURO :(
Nah man, the 4k 120 on this camera looks like poop thanks to the massive crop.
I think it really depends on one’s individual needs, but the a6700 seems to be a stellar camera in pretty much every department.
what full frame lenses are you going with?
tons of small lenses for that as well, if you add Viltrox and Samyang the selection is great
TBH IM literally blown away !

I think it’s time to upgrade my a6000 finally :) thnx for a great review!

Great review. I have a A6600 and it's time for a change.
I’ve used my a6400 extensively. Can’t wait to get this new offering.
@@ArthurR awesome - thanks for the reply. Such a dilemma ... so it's better but still not best 😁

can you see the difference in photo quality? I wanted to sell my old A6300 and buy the A7iii (to have better photos, same/better video quality). Now the a6700 has messed it all up:)
I feel like this is what the A6600 should have been.
At the time the a6600 was just a battery upgrade and slightly better AF camera. The technology just wasn’t here yet for the a6600 to be as advanced as the a6700. I’m glad that time has finally come and I looking forward to upgrading my a6400.
that's a bit harsh. the tech had to be out before they can release it.
@@joealfanophotography9568how this differ from a a7c though?
@@jirehla-ab1671 apples and oranges. The a7c is just a compact version of the now aging a7III. The a6700 is an APS-C camera loaded with new tech from the a7IV and a7rV. I’ll bet the a7cII will be about $1000 more than a6700. So for those who don’t need FF the a6700 is a bargain.
Absolutely agree with this comment
Someone at Sony took notes from the community, finally! I'm not ready to part with my a6400 yet but I do salivate at many of the features here. And I hope soooo much that with the new menus/software this will finally be compatible with MonitorPlus. That little app put Sony to shame with how superior it is as a monitoring app.
So best time for those in the market to pick up an a6400 as it appears many will go into the market?
Whatever you buy if it's newer than say 2018-2019 you can't really go wrong, I'm mostly nitpicing here :)
As a reference, started out as a street and landscape hobby, now I use it for events (mostly at night!), product photography and interior/architecture photography (the Laowa 9mm f2.8 is a fantastic lens for this)

"A new legend is born"
I have not been this excited about a camera in a long time.
Then they would be perfect :-)
they do that people won't have a valid reason to buy full frames - so they ain't gonna do it
@@looptimelapse They don’t even implement some of these in their FF line up, it’s not only the APS-C line up.

Just watched the live premier of the A6700. It's the dogs danglers. The price for the UK is less than I thought it would be. Every feature blows my trusty old A6000 out the water. It does focus bracketing only like the a7rv, so you'll have to stitch them in Lr which is disappointing

What surprised me is that high ISO performance is worse than the A6600 when compared side by side on DP Review's studio comparison charts. But the AI features, especially tracking focus in video, does seem pretty cool! Not quite useful to me as a professional photographer, but still seems fun to play with.
Great review. Love my a6600 for my light kit for hiking, travel and landscape still photos. This looks so good. I might just have to upgrade.
Always look to you for a good review
A6000 user here and seriously considering the a6700. When we went mirrorless with the a6000 we did so because of size. Smaller lenses with an APS-C sensor but the flexibility of interchangeable lenses. I’ve kinda felt disappointed in the APS-C lineup over the past years as the tech didn’t really seem to be improving much. I know megapixels are not everything, but you’d think that there would be a decent resolution jump in the sensors over the last decade. I like the idea of the APS-C because of the compactness compared to full frame cameras but still the same flexibility. The lack of a significant sensor resolution jump is the biggest disappointment; however, the A6700 is high on our radar to consider the upgrade.
looks great!! Great review from an APSC expert, of course! 📸
Goodbye a6000 hello a6700!!
This type of news makes me so glad I jumped onto the Sony wagon since beginning 👌
Wow this is impressive
There are so many other fine tweaks they have made which are too numerous for a comments column, but at the price it is definitely worth the upgrade!
any overheating ?
is there a difference in picture quality bwteen the a6400 and a6700 for stills?
@@jameiealehandro Not for me. I mainly use it for photography, and I think the heating issue was mainly 120fps
Arthur has refined his reviews to a point that exceeds what MKBHD has been able to accomplish.
My fellow APSC advocate...we finally got the camera we've wanted for a while.
Thank you Arthur. Because of your review i just upgraded to the a6700. You are the best. And you have a beautiful family. Thanks a milliion times.
At this price point, it doesn't get much better!
It actually does. Go and check the market out
I recently sold my full frame Sony gear, because I like to many landscape locations and wanted to carry less weight. This looks like my next camera.
1450
it is under 1500!!
0:30 - the info is very powerful 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Straight to the point journalism😂
wow i didn't expected this upgrade, now i can buy another a6600 cheaper
