    Sorry if I missed it but can you load luts into the a6700 like with fx3?

    • @KyleWattsTV
      @KyleWattsTV  Год назад +42

      Can’t believe I forgot to add that,but yes you can add luts to the camera. One way is to view the lut in the gamma assist section and the other way actually adds the lut in camera so you won’t need to add it in post. There is also a “log filming” section that films in slog 3 and gives you the Sony rec 709 conversion in the viewer but you would need to still convert that in post.

    Ok, so I dropped my last 2 comments before I watched the entire video, & it’s crazy what you can pick up from a video if you really pay attention - this man has phenomenal skills with both a camera & editing software. You can tell he was extremely efficient with this video, no wasted time or shots everything served a purpose & it was clear but to the point. I really appreciate the information conveyed, the way it was conveyed & overall feel - definitely got a sub from me & I look forward to watching more of your work. Thank you!

    Thanks Kyle you made a fantastic video, the best I have seen for the a6700 and I’ve watched so many. Clear and concise for the camera features but most importantly you show actual footage you get from the different lenses - that is what has been missing from the other videos. Now I have a better idea about which lenses are good because for a newb that is equally confusing. I’ve subscribed 👍

    For me the reason for purchasing the 6700 when I already had a 6400 and 6600 was based on the superior focus system and low light improvement. I used it to take hundreds of photos of a local ballet when the focus performance was exemplary even when I was 50 feet distance from the subject.

      The new Sony autofocus is so good! I’m really hoping that they add it to all the new Sony cameras. I haven’t used it yet but there’s also a setting in there that’s called face recognition where once it’s activated with your picture it will remember that person and keep them as priority even when in a group of other people

    LONG time Fuji user and early adopter here. Love my XT5 and curious about the Nikon ZF, but seriously considering a leap to Sony. I’ve been shooting since the 90’s. Shot lots of film back in the day. I’ve shot every camera system from Canon to Nikon, Fuji, Olympus and beyond. Never tried Sony (other than my little ZV1 which is awesome). Curious about an A6700 or something really small and ergonomic. I do wear glasses so I need an EVF. Love mirrorless. Love APS-C.
    I shoot headshots and I make a living at it. Currently shooting XT5’s but the autofocus is broken. If they don’t fix by new year I’m done.
    What camera system would you choose for full time portraiture? I have a weak back and shoulder and I’m 53 so I’m looking to go as light, ergonomic and fast as possible. Lighter the better. I shoot 75% natural light & 25% in a studio. Occasionally I shoot a family session, usually entirely with my X100V’s.
    I’m looking to change it up, but stay light and fast. I don’t need a tank I need a feather. But I need that EVF, as I wear glasses and shoot in sunny weather (SoCal). LCD can’t be primary. Very interested in the A6700 for stills. Budget is fairly tight. Likely gonna go with the minimal kit, all primes.
    I would love your thoughts!

    • @stefpix
      @stefpix 11 месяцев назад +2

      The Tamron 17-70 and 18-300 optical stabilization is really good . Used on Sonys without IBIS. It is chunkier than the Sigma, but also has a much better range.
      I see the sigma as a great option for a casual lens, or portrait lens. But the Tamron 17-70 is a better option if size does not matter.
      Also the Sigma zoom rotates opposite than any other zoom, you have to get used to.
      I have both zooms. For travel if I had to choose one, definitely the Tamron. I like the Sigma a lot, but the extra range of the Tamron, especially at a wide end and the great stabilization make it a better choice.

      The fx 30 is basically the same camera but it’s more video based. It has no evf, it uses an eltronic shutter and has a built in fan. If you want to have the same video capabilities as well as a better photo camera, go with the a6700.

    I have a question for you Kyle, I'm looking for a camera, this will be my first proper camera and I will be teaching myself how to use it. My wife and I recently have twins and the main purpose of the camera will be to capture special moments in picture and video. I don't mind spending a little bit more now but the camera will have to last a few years. What would you suggest?

    • @KyleWattsTV
      @KyleWattsTV  9 месяцев назад

      This would be a great camera for that. It does have some features you probably wouldn’t need but a less expensive version of this camera is the Sony zv-E10 and that is also a solid camera for photo/video

    Great job on the video Kyle! Thanks for making it. The 15mm G lens lives on my a6700 (occasionally I will use a 35mm CCTV lens adapted from C-Mount) but I often want something with some zoom. It's down to this lens or the 16-55 G from Sony.

    Kyle great informative video, beautiful scenery and nicely done. I just bought the A6700 and was considering purchasing either
    the Tamron 17-70mm 2.8 or your Sigma 18-50 mm 2.8. I was wondering what your thoughts are on the Tamron 17-70 vs the Sigma 18-50 mm ?? thank you

    • @KyleWattsTV
      @KyleWattsTV  2 месяца назад +1

      @@johnkaper1129 both are great lenses and both have their pros. The sigma is sharp and super compact and the tamron has a wider focal range and has built in lens stabilization, but it isn’t as compact. Can’t really go wrong with either but if you don’t mind spending the extra money and have a larger lens I’d go with the tamron

      That’s a hard choice. The zve1 is definitely more of a video camera with a lot of the same features, but I cropped 4k 120fps and better in lowlight for sure, but as an all around the a6700 is solid for photo and video. I would probably compare it more to the a7iv.

    we just purchased this camera. It feels a lot better then our a6400 for video and having IBIS. Being new to editing we found out during setup if you film in 4.2.2 10bit we cant edit on divinci unless you buy the pro version for 450CAD. For everyday use would you recommend shooting in 8bit in S cinetone vs s log 3 and having to add luts to everything? we primarily will be using in the snow

    • @KyleWattsTV
      @KyleWattsTV  11 месяцев назад +1

      S cinetone or even standard if you don’t want to add luts but if filming in snow conditions, slog3 does help a lot to deal with the highlights. Also I didn’t know that the free version of divinci doesn’t allow 10 bit. What computer are you using?

    • @Just3adventures

    Great video and great sample footage. If I can give one video editing tip, please place your titles a bit farther from the edges of the screen. When watching on a TV, I couldn’t read your little titles in the corner when you label which lens is used because it was cut off by the edge of the screen. I always give a good margin on titles because it can get cut off depending on the device. Cheers!
