I've just bought this camera, and I'm so glad I found this tutorial. Brilliantly done and so well explained. Thank you so much for making it. Going to see if you did one about the best lenses to use with it.
I just ordered this camera and I haven’t had one for many years already so I’m really excited, this is an amazing beginners tutorial for going back into the Sony Camera World! Thank you so much for this tutorial!
I'm a little late to the party. But, I'd like to say your pacing for the info was excellent! Also, I appreciate the 'why' when suggesting a particular setting. Also, you make sure to highlight which camera, i.e., photo/video and Mode, e.g., manual. Overall, it was a very well thought out tutorial. I look forward to more.
enjoyed the video very informative thanks, it also left me with more questions concerning the log shooting setting, flexibla iso??? does this need to be delt with?? do we leave it off??? The d-range optimizer, proxy recording, gamma display assist, the gamma disp.Assist type, perhaps a follow-up video explain how these interact with each other or the functions on or off, etc.. again thanks so much.
played w/ the camera for 15 min before watching this and already cannot get the swiping screen functionality to work that you demo around 4 min in. My attempts to swipe just moved the center focus spot around. Would be super helpful to maybe tell us how to set the camera back to "out of the box" defaults since this functionality is lost pretty quickly and I'm clueless how to get it back.
There’s an option in the MENU to Reset the Settings back to Default It’s found in MENU > Settings > Reset/Save Settings > Settings Reset I just found this today when looking at several “change this settings first” videos Good luck
Great video and highly informative. I’ve been shooting Nikon for 30 plus years and recently picked this up for travel. I HATE the icons on the left and ride side and when you showed the swipe l/r to remove and bring in I was stoked. However, I just cannot get that to work. Is there a special setting in menu? Thank you.
I think the rear screen is getting better. It's a touch screen finally so that helps, but you're right about the EVF, especially on this camera. It's usable but I think they could make a bigger one for the a6000 series.
S-Log3 for gamma, and S-Gamut3.Cine for color mode: super flat picture. gray, professionals [can use colorista] Cine 4 (is nicer than 1-3) for gamma, and color mode cinema: flat look, easier to color correct S-Cinetone gamma, S-sinetone color mode. similar to cine profiles but get filmic look 22:10
Thanks for the video! I wanted to kindly ask you for advice. Why on my a6700, when I set the XAVC S 4K format, are the settings very different from yours?: for example when choosing the frame rate I have 25/50/100p or for the recording settings I have 60M-8bit/ 100M-8bit / 140M- 10bit. I bought it a few days ago, in a photography shop, it has a European guarantee. Thank you very much for a possible answer
Hi, My display screen on the a6700 displays completely different colours during still photography than the images I shoot. The actual images are great and the awb works great 8/10 times but the live image on the camera display is a bit contrasty and a bit cyan. I checked to see if it had to do with the picture profiles in video mode but that doesn't seem to be the case. Any recommendations of why the colours look completely different on the display screen?
Hi, don't know what i'm doing wrong, but i only get to choose from 50p, 25p or 100p in de rec frame rate section.. Any tips? I did all the previous steps of your video
I liked your video, thank you. Wondering Im using a6700 with 18-135mm, both IBIS and OSS, so I shouldnt use active steadyshot active on top of OSS lens and IBIS?
At 24:42 you misstated that Video mode doesn't have Creative Modes. That's not accurate. I actually use a custom Creative mode in Video and it looks great.
Shooting 120fps in s and q mode is actually higher quality than just shooting in regular 120fps video. 100mbps data rate in 24fps is just the final data rate. The camera actually uses 100mbps x 5 for 120fps. Just letting you know that you're actually recording higher quality slow motion in s and q mode. As for how much better it actually is? That's debatable and probably wouldn't matter to most of us.
Any tips on how to charge the camera? I just bought this and I'm using a USB - C cable and plugged it into my macbook and the block that goes into the wall. I keep getting battery exhausted on the screen hours after charging it.
make sure the camera is charging while connected to the wall. turn the camera on while plugged in and in the top right hand there should be a battery charging icon. however, I think your MacBook charger might not be compatible . try the charger the camera came with
I had the same problem. After you’ve had the battery charging inside the camera for 2hr, remove the battery, wait 5 minutes, then reinsert the battery, and then it will power up. Hopefully you figured it out. Congrats on getting a sweet camera!
I somehow made the touch screen stop working and the menu screen with all the touch buttons went away. I don't understand what I touched to make this happen. This camera is nothing like the other alpha cameras I own (a6000 & a6400).
I’m in xavc s4k I only can shoot 50 p and have only 200mm 10 bit and 150mm 8 bit I also can only go up to 100fps and down to 25fps on slowmo can someone please help me
Followed the video step for step but for some reason my video is extremly laggy, like 1 frame a second laggy, not too sure what i did wrong, I followed that section of the video again to make sure i have the same video settings and it didnt work. Anyone else have this issue?
IDK, a6700 overheating gets a lot of discussion on the InterWeb. I notice with extended sessions the camera gets warm, but I've never had a shutdown. Also, I've downloaded the latest firmware from Sony ver. 1.03 is suppose to fix that issue? I haven't had any shutdowns due to overheating.
It shots photos as well and it’s more powerful !! So it’s not only video !! I own one and bless the makers of the A6700!!! It’s solid cool !!! I’m loving it .
Has anyone purchased the tech through lens courses, I am a bit skeptical as multiple times the website is down and there is no way of contacting the admins.

I just bought this camera and it’s in fact it’s my first camera, the settings were quite overwhelming. Your video has helped me very much. Thank you 🙏

Thanks for the video!
I was just searching for info about using a6700 with a Ronin gimbal and you just talked about it!
✌️
This might be the best apsc camera under 2k. I just wish Sony would give us a better EVF and rear screen.
I think the rear screen is getting better. It's a touch screen finally so that helps, but you're right about the EVF, especially on this camera. It's usable but I think they could make a bigger one for the a6000 series.

hey great question! you just have to set it to xavc s-I. the the second last one
You explained so well! Thank you 🙏🏾
I am new to photography. Can you please suggest me the best camera for casual photography and videography under $1000

Standard framerate depends on where you are, outside of North America we use 25p, so it’s normal if it’s different
You might be in PAL supported region not the NTSC supported region I.e. North America.
I liked your video, thank you. Wondering Im using a6700 with 18-135mm, both IBIS and OSS, so I shouldnt use active steadyshot active on top of OSS lens and IBIS?
The link to your gear on Amazon from the Notes is broken. :-(

Thank you
I shot on my ZV E10 on 25fps and or 30fps AS IT DOESN'T HAVE 60FPS in 4k. unless 1080p in 60fps.
Really osm video. And Great Explain. I Want More About This Tiny Beast Cam . Plz X Plane More About This. I Buy This 2-3 Days Back . ❤
I noticed that some of the setting options are different on my camera than in the video. Is that because I've got a 75-350 Zoom on the camera?
i think you did not touch on how to set the camera if the lens also has stab.

What camera do you recommend for architectural and food photography and please explain for what reason .

I cant find 42 bit ... only 25 and 50 .. why is that ??
Price
a6700 model has 26megapixels. Why its showing up to 23 megapixels only in this tutorial video?
I think because i was shooting 16:9 in camera as apposed to the full sensor. I like the look of 16:9 photos
I'm using a 50mm oss 1.8 lens with this camera. And I don't have this 120fps option, Why is that?
Depending on the region your in, its either 100 or 120 fps. Pal or ntsc
I just got my camera today😭
Sir didn't get 120 ps for slow motion
make sure you arer in manual. and are using either the standard 4k codec not the one that says HS next to it. or the standard HD codec.
This maybe or must be a good camera but for those who want video only are concerned about it's over heating.
