I would highly recommend the full cage for the 6700! If you are someone with bigger hands, it is honestly such a nice upgrade, as it makes the grip thicker. It is quite a bit heavier with the cage but in terms of ergonomics, its amazing. Feels almost like a fullframe with it and its super versatile because you get threads all around the body.
I actually might end up making a video comparing the two (cage and baseplate) since they are in many ways similar and also different! But yeah, that is also an option!
I bought the full cage for the ZV1, so when I upgraded to the A6700 I purchased rheumatoid arthritis cage as well, I feel the cage for the A6700 is better than the one for the ZV1. Def worth it! And that’s the biggest SD card I’ve ever seen 😂
Nice to see you channel growing. I’m planning on getting an a6700 next month for my outdoor videos. Your videos are very helpful. Always good to support a fellow RUclipsr.
That sounds super nice! I believe the a6700 really excels in outdoor videos, especially with a nice lens to compliment it. I believe you will really enjoy your a6700
Just got my a6700 last week. I already have the Sony shooting grip for it and the Ulanzi cooling fan. Next pay day I pick up.the full Smallrig cage for it and handle
@@matiss.skujins ooh nice, I'm going the Cineback /Ridgid pro route. Luckily I have a Sony Xperia 1 V phone , so I have a monitor right away, saving lots.
@theSFCchannel ohh yeah ive heard it works as a really good monitor. Although I have used a monitor many times ive opted to just use the flip out screen.
@@matiss.skujins yeah flip out screen is great but has its drawbacks as it's small . You see when I started out I filmed on my Xperia phone as both stills and video are taken from alpha and Venice. Now I'm ready for my 6700 and learning loads of new stuff. One thing I noticed is that there is no real set way to film or even kit (apart from rule of two shutter twice frame rate etc.). Filming is more artform than science.
@theSFCchannel true. Id recommend really getting a firm phone / monitor mount. Last thing you want is a floppy monitor that twists to the side the second you bumb into something(KHEM happens with mine all the time)
Thats very nice to hear! Mine looked to be fine but just gave up one day out of nowhere. My dad had like 2nd or 3rd copy break on him only after a year of using each, he is an intensive user though! Also been seeing other people complain about the Sandisk cards splitting. On the other hand - MicroSD from sandisk has been working perfectly for me for many years!
question: I have been filming in HLG and S-cinetone mods- but i want to learn shooting in SLOG3 , do you have the recommended settings for shootiing in this mode, and is it true you need to use epxosure compensation with slog 3 like set at 1.7 ? Also I bought the Feyutech Scorp mini 2 gimbal loved that ubnderslung second handle and its AI tracking ability. as for sd cards, I love the SABRENT SD cards as they are a brilliant company and ahve a good reputation due to their fantasticaly fast Sabrent Rocket 4 NVME drives. There is another SD card coming out soon, this is the latest of the LEXAR ARmour series which is actually made from stainless steel.
Gotta check out those lexar cards, been trying out their gold series recently. As for Slog3 - I have never ever cared to expose the right way as everyone else does. On a6700 I highly recommend importing a basic Rec.709 conversion lut with a little bit of contrast in it and thats it. Look at the tiny histogram to expose correctly or even better - use zebras. There are plenty of videos on using zebras. Nowadays I don’t have to pay attention to the exposure - I just automatically check zebras, histogram and thats it. When it comes to colorgrading in slog - in davinci learn to use color space transform to turn slog into rec709 or if you use premiere - there is now a rec709 conversion feature or you can just slam a rec709 conversion lut after which you can grade it to your liking. There are many different ways to approach color grading but that is something you have to actively learn to get good.
after moldimg the sd card to snow and the inserting into the camera have had any issues with internal connection pins of the camera? just curious because it seems like this will be a good way to introduce moisture into your camera!
Nop! As long as it is dry when you put it in, should not have any issues! Just give it a good wipe and you will be fine. If you soak it for a long time then you might wanna leave it out for a while
Closest thing I have found is the Ellie PD L bracket from 3 legged thing. It is not a grip extension though - so depends what problem you are trying to solve (personally I wanted something that would allow me to shoot vertical on a tripod and not have to mount an extra plate for the PD).
Here is what I bought to solve this issue… kinda - I got the peak design arca swiss quick release plate. Although not a grip extension - it works on arca swiss tripods and capture clips, but I didnt get it to work with DJI gimbals
Omw to get a peak design strap for the telescope 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️💨💨💨
Stable astro shots incoming ✨🌌

I don’t have large hands, i would say im on the smaller size

WTF did I just say 😂??????? 🧐 I meant full cage not rheumatoid arthritis cage 😂, how the hell did that happen?
Just bought the smallRig base plate, useful bit of kit.
It’s truly great! 🙌🏼

Nice, you’ll have a decent setup! I personally use almost only cage + handle for my video shoots.

Hi Matt, nice video. Can you give us please the peak design camera strap reference?

I’m curious if the plate can be used with peak design capture
Highly doubt it! I believe it is the only drawback to the baseplate from smallrig. If they could somehow implement that, it would be amazing
