Another great video Devon. I've had my S1R over a year and I use it quite extensively. Your videos always seem to point out some nice little Golden Nugget that either had forgotten about or was not aware of. Thanks!😎
18:39 I can find that 6k setting on the Lumix S5 iix. We do have the L,M, and H mode and we also have a SH PRE (preforms super high-speed Pre-Burst recording with the electronic shutter. 30 fps) And a SH (Preforms super high-speed burst recording with the electronic shutter. 30 fps
Assuming that it's like the setting with the same name on Ricoh/Pentax, "Highlight weighted" metering means that it prioritizes protecting the brightest parts, because overexposed parts are much harder to save in post than underexposed. If you have something very bright in the frame, such as a window at daytime when shooting indoors, the rest of the image will become very dark, but you will perfectly capture what's outside of the window. When outdoors on a sunny day, it always captures the sky perfectly, at the cost of underexposing everything not in direct sunlight. When shooting nature and streets outdoors, I LOVE highlight weighted metering! I just add some EV to intentionally overexpose the sky for shots where the exact look of the clouds is not important.
That's amazing Devon, that is exactly the video I've been waiting for. S5 owner here... I'd like to make a small contribution to your channel. How do I go about doing it please?
Just simply like and subscribe friend. Recently lost our home and possession so I’m taking a break to get our lives back together. Going to be testing out some new camera gear when I find a place.
Hi great video is there going to be part 3? as im having a problem with when viewing images taken on camera to get them to change from view to upright to me its a problem can you help as to how to set it thanks
Shutter delay is something I’ve used in long exposure. If you want to press the shutter and give the camera a second to settle from the movement of you putting and taking your hand off before it starts taking the image.
Hi, l recently got my Lumix S1r. In my camera menu custom af sensitivity greyed out, when l going to select the option it showing it will not available in AFS mode. So l can't change the AFS mode and can't enable the custom af options. Please help me out on this issue
How do I change my shutter speed on manual mode? It doesn’t allow me to do so. I do product photography, so I like to make my frame very dark and use my godox lights. I used to drop my shutter speed on my A7III to make it dark but i don’t know how to do this on my S5II
Whenever I hear reviewers say just shoot raw, I wonder if they realize they have just said "I live in a bubble and I'm ignorant of the situations of other photographers." Same when it comes to your discussion of Filters, at least you admit you are ignorant of their uses. Olympus and Lumix have great filters that can create a great image in a high noon location you will never be back to. Luckily for many photographers Olympus and Lumix put in features that camera purchasers want that reviewers don't care about.
In my experience, when you leave Max ISO on auto, then that ISO doesn’t go above 6400. If you want to make the camera go to even higher ISO values, then you have to choose a higher max ISO manually.
Why when you RAW selected but any Photo Style that is selected as well, it shoots in the that style rather than just RAW? Or is it just me? Put the Picture Quality on RAW and Photo Style in V-Log just to see what I mean. I feel like the Photo Style options should just be greyed out when your Picture Quality is set to RAW. Please let me know.
could someone here please answer this: Question #1: How do you map the RED FOCUSING LIGHT to a CUSTOM BUTTON ? Question #2 : How do you switch off " PLEASE USE THE FLASH" in iA ( idiot) mode ?
Great video, awful, awful music. What is it with RUclips photographers and seemingly AI-generated, infuriatingly bland, super distracting "lo-fi" electronic elevator jazz? Mute and caption for a better experience!
This is awesome, exactly the video I’ve been looking for! I purchased an S5 last week, been absolutely loving it.
Video tutorial will come out tomorrow, I had a baby not long after this video.
After searching so many videos, finally found the one I was looking for! Thank you so much for this guide!

That's fair, Recently just got a V100X Just to shoot JPGs on. lol

I’m not sure if that’s default or if you have to change it to that yourself mine is limited.
Very good, thank you !
Hi, for me high resolution mode seems to be greyed out… anyone know how to fix this? Can’t find anything online..
Check the mode dial at the top left, make sure it is on high resolution mode.
How do I make screen and VF not get darker when trying to focus?
7:00 My s5 shows only 20, 10 and 5MP options. Anyone knows why by chance?
Found it, changes based on aspect ratio which makes total sensd
