  • The Beast is a wooden roller coaster located at Kings Island amusement park in Mason, Ohio. Designed and manufactured in-house at a cost of $3.2 million, the ride opened in 1979 as the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster in the world. Decades later, The Beast is still the longest at 7,359 feet (2,243 m), spanning more than 35 acres (14 ha) and utilizing the surrounding terrain for many of its elements. Two lift hills contribute to the ride's duration of more than four minutes, which also ranks as one of the longest among roller coasters.
Following the 2021 season, approximately 2,000 feet (610 m) of track on The Beast was refurbished by The Gravity Group. Two of the ride's signature elements were reprofiled to provide a smoother ride. The first drop was increased from 45 to 53 degrees, affecting the transition from the first tunnel into the second drop, and the helix finale was modified to improve the distribution of force. 1,090 feet (330 m) was completely re-tracked, and the overall length of the ride was slightly increased by 2 feet (0.61 m) to 7,361 feet (2,244 m)

Looks like she's running great after the retrack. Still weird not seeing Vortex from the lift hill, though.

Bro the lift is litterly crawling

It has to do that because the train ahead has to be on the second lift before that train drops off the first lift, and Kings Island would rather have that train slowly going up the lift hill than just sitting in the station

I have a silly question. Are those mask and wristbands going up the lift and why are they there? Is it a tradition or backstory?

Tradition but not intentionally. People just started doing it years ago.

Those have to be the SLOWEST lift hills EVER! I'm pretty sure that I could climb up thise hills faster. OMG!! I almost thought that the train was going to get stuck up there a couple of times. 2:08 4:04
