After making a career behind the camera he's now fully back in the spotlight, providing multiple roles in the Daniels' fantastic, wild and weird EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE. We talk about his love of Hong Kong cinema of the 80s, working with directorial superstars, and how excited he is to be back with this terrific project.

I don’t understand what it’s like to be Asian.. I can understand the alienation Ke must have felt in his filmmaking career in a way but the main takeaway I have is that his performance was the most emotional and relatable experience I’ve ever had in a film and it meant more to me than probably any other roll ever has.. thank you Ke Huy Quan ❤️
It would be nice if Spielberg reunited with this fellow and another amazing actor he discovered, Henry Thomas. Two exceptionally intelligent and sensitive actors we all missed.
Watched Daniels interview and now this and really impressed with the interviewer skills, asking right, interesting, thoughtful questions. Thank you so much for adding extra dimensions to the movie that I really enjoyed and mesmerized by it. Also hopefully Everything Everywhere All at Once will have excellent words of mouth and becomes bona fide box office hit with Michelle Yeoh getting Oscar nominations and Ke Huy Quan enjoys very successful, prolific cinema career!
Ke, you were so perfect in this. You made me cry so hard, I'm still messed up from it.
Ke, if the right project comes along, or if you create it, I see you writing, directing and producing as well as acting! All these skills and experience will come to bear!

He mentioned in an interview that he is Chinese with chinese parents but was born in Vietnam.
The family escaped to HK in a boat during the vietnam war and stayed in Refugee camp in HK for a year. Before the family got political asylum granted in USA.
4 years later, the young Ke was discovered by Spielberg in his school and the rest were history.
