- Ke Huy Quan is still processing his big win! The 51-year-old actor tearfully expressed what his Best Supporting Actor win means to him after struggling as an actor for many years at the backstage press room at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards. He also talked about his heartwarming reunion with his former co-star Brendan Fraser and the sweet words he shared with him. “He put his hand on my shoulder and said this ‘Ke we’re still here,’” he said. “I would never forget those three words…For me, I cannot believe I am still here.”

This is the otherside of child actors we never see. We only see the Dicaprios, Ben Afflecks and drew barrymore. He’s the generation of child actors that were left behind so it must feel so rewarding and energetic at the same time to have all of these accolades, love and awards. Im so happy for him

A lot of child actors go through depression after their time was up in Hollywood and nothing was offered to them along the way. Ke just stayed around and worked behind the cameras and did what he can do to stay in the movie business. A lot of child actors, when they ages and there’s no more movie being offered to them, they tended to be depressed and do drugs and wasted their life away. Happy for Ke for not giving up

Michelle Yeoh is officially the star if the film and her performance was amazing, but this man stole the whole movie. His character and his performance was the absolute heart of the film and the reason it worked so well. The character's positivity was fed by his genuine positivity that he exudes in real life. I'm looking forward to seeing him in more things. I was already a fan of Gene Luen Yang's graphic novels, but when I heard Quan was going to be in "American Born Chinese", I was overjoyed.

@@paulsmith9192 The current Lucasfilm has no respect for the fans. And these new directors replacing Lucas and Spielberg on Star Wars and Indiana Jones are obsessed with "doing their own thing," and not interested in paying respect to all of the past canon.
He finished college; conrinued to pay his SAG fees since 1984 even if he was no longer working as an actor; returned to acting only after Crazy Rich Asian; when he was cast in EEAO and shut dowb because of COVID, he auditioned in between but still could not land a part!

A short round series or goonies 2 would be exciting to see.
@Classicfanforever we've been told a,goonies 2 was happening for 7 years.recently, adam Goldberg wrote a script for donner for goonies 2 before he died. Maybe he'd direct it. I know Sean and cory pitched a,goonies 2 as well and was told,was too expensive. But,adam Goldberg seems confident will happen
His performance in this great film that has expanded the art of filmmaking well into the 21st century is the very epitome of a great Supporting performance. Such a good heart, such genuine warmth and love.

If Hollywood REALLY wants to turn things around.. and REALLY show DIVERSITY.. it’s HIGH TIME to reward these actors who STRUGGLED to get back in the scene and succeed.. not that the other actors weren’t good in their performances last year’s movies.. but it’ll be a breath of fresh air to see UNAWARDED actors to win this year at SAG and OSCARs!
