The homeless guys that receive the large wad of cash in a paper bag are key characters (Randolph and Mortimer Duke) from the Trading Places movie. They were the guys that Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy overcome. You watched it a few months ago. This was them after they lost everything.
Thank you for another great reaction! :) Well, this movie I first saw when I was 9-10 years old. I didn´t understand all the "adult" jokes, but I did think it´s was very funny when the guy saw the king and slammed the apartment door and when the prince yelled Good morning and also replied "yes, yes! **** you too!"
Fun fact his parents, the King played by James Earl Jones and Queen played by Madge Sinclair also played the King and Queen in The Lion King, Mufasa and Sarabi.
great reaction Jen i love this movie its hilarious, One of the standout features of this movie is Eddie Murphy’s incredible portrayal of not just one, but four different characters in the film. He plays the main character, Prince Akeem, as well as three other supporting characters, including Clarence the barber. This showcased Murphy’s versatility and comedic talent. There are some fun-facts about it, Landis and Murphy revisited two central characters from their earlier collaboration. Wealthy brothers Randolph and Mortimer Duke lost everything betting against Billy Ray Valentine (Murphy) in Trading Places. Actors Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche reprised their roles as the brothers in penury on the receiving end of Prince Akeem’s largesse. When they discover the envelope given to them is filled with cash, Randolph proclaims, “Mortimer, we’re back!” James Earl Jones and Madge Sinclair got their 'Lion King' roles from the movie. James Earl Jones and Madge Sinclair turned in suitably regal performances as Zamunda’s King Jaffe Joffer and Queen Aoleon. So impressed were audiences and Hollywood executives, Jones and Sinclair would be asked to reunite for the 1994 animated blockbuster The Lion King in the roles of Mufasa, king of Pride Rock, and his mate, Sarabi. McDowell’s restaurant was actually a Wendy’s, not a McDonald’s, the actual restaurant used in the movie was a working, Queens Boulevard Wendy’s location. The building remained a restaurant until 2013 when it was demolished to make way for a luxury apartment building. Paula Abdul created the choreography for the Zamunda wedding scene, Both Murphy’s and Hall’s brothers feature briefly in the movie during the basketball game scene in which Prince Akeem is recognized. Hall’s brother Vondie Curtis-Hall plays the keen-eyed vendor and Murphy’s stepbrother, Vernon Lynch, is standing in front of Akeem in the bathroom line. Tobe Hooper, the late horror director behind The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and a dear friend of Landis’s appeared in the McDowells’ party scene. Keep up the good work.
Jen, thats every black pastor on Sunday... Cant believe you cant tell thats Eddie and Aresenio playing all the characters. That's what makes this a classic
To answer a question that you asked in the full video that didn't make the cut, the "movie" called "See You Next Wednesday" isn't actually a movie. It's a running gag with John Landis films. Many of his films contain a reference to a movie called "See You Next Wednesday" but each one is a different movie. In The Blues Brothers, the cops are staked out behind a billboard featuring that movie title and it shows a King Kong like theme to it. In Trading Places there's a movie poster in Jamie Lee Curtis' bedroom but in that case, it's more of a romantic movie.
"See you next Wednesday" is Landis' tribute to Stanley Kubrick. The line is from Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. Kubrick also inserted variations of CRM 114 (Serum 114) in his films..
12:40 No, it’s not a specific impression of anyone famous. It’s just a general impression of many Black American clergymen and some of their unique styles of preaching. If you have ever attended a Black church service, particularly Baptist or Pentecostal, you will probably recognize the humor in this.
I haven’t seen this probably since around when it came out, made me howl back then as a kid, and made me howl again seeing Jen react to it 35 years later, those clever quips and genuine chuckles almost as funny as the movie itself, as usual lmao I’d forgotten they did a sequel to this, I haven’t seen it yet so it’d be kinda cool to see it for the first time on this channel

eddie murphy's 1983 "delirious" is one his most famous stand up comedy shows. i was 10 when it came out and it was so funny. i had it on cassette tape and seen it on cable tv years later
Yes it's Eddie Murphy. He plays 4 roles: Akeem, Clarence, Saul and Randy Watson. Arsenio plays 4 roles as well: Semmi, Morris, Ugly girl and Reverend Brown.
classic! iconic! so good! awesome reactions as usual!
RIP John Amos and James earl Jones... Nice reaction... Regards
Omg just noticed in the credits - boy getting haircut at 8.14 is Cuba Gooding Junior!! Never knew that before
Such a fun reaction! Love this movie too. That soup joke at the end is one of my favorite jokes ever. It's just the right level of dumb that makes you groan and laugh in equal amounts
stand-up "Delirious" 🤣
The homeless guys that receive the large wad of cash in a paper bag are key characters (Randolph and Mortimer Duke) from the Trading Places movie. They were the guys that Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy overcome. You watched it a few months ago. This was them after they lost everything.

Fun Fact for you, Jen:
James Earl Jones and Madge Sinclair also voiced Mufasa and Sarabi, Simba's parents in "The Lion King"
Thank you for another great reaction! :)
Well, this movie I first saw when I was 9-10 years old.
Eddie Murphy Delirious is probably his most famous stand-up
“Harlem Nights” features Eddie and Richard Pryor. Eddie plays a vampire in “Vampire in Brooklyn” and “Boomerang” is a decent romcom
Legend has it that Randy Watson did the first mic drop.
That boy good!
14:43 RIP Louie Anderson.
great reaction Jen i love this movie its hilarious, One of the standout features of this movie is Eddie Murphy’s incredible portrayal of not just one, but four different characters in the film.
When they discover the envelope given to them is filled with cash, Randolph proclaims, “Mortimer, we’re back!”
James Earl Jones and Madge Sinclair got their 'Lion King' roles from the movie.
I Still remember When Akeem gave the Randolph brothers from the Trading Brothers the money, EVERYONE in the movie theater groaned.
Jen, thats every black pastor on Sunday...
Cant believe you cant tell thats Eddie and Aresenio playing all the characters. That's what makes this a classic
Yes, Eddie Murphy was also the old man in the barber shop.
I legitimately love his Mets jacket
"Tell her you love her! She thinks she's a wild oat!" is just brilliantly hilarious commentary. 🤣🤣🤣
Got to watch Trading Places now, also great movie with Eddie Murphy, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dan Akroyd, and the two bums !
For Eddie’s stand-up, *Delirious* is a classic, followed by *Raw* as a close second. 😂🤣
One of the funniest and also one of the best romantic comedy movies ever made!
So many great lines in this! Madge Sinclair telling James Earl Jones to "put a sock in it!" always gets me 😂
20:40 when FLIES attack !!!! :)
12:40 No, it’s not a specific impression of anyone famous. It’s just a general impression of many Black American clergymen and some of their unique styles of preaching. If you have ever attended a Black church service, particularly Baptist or Pentecostal, you will probably recognize the humor in this.
Beverly hills cop movies were great, the newest one just came out recently!
