      Fraid there's not many 'Bruce Lee' movies, But i'd say check out some classics like 'Drunken Master'/ 'Rumble in the Bronx' Or 'Method Man', Alternatly if you fancy something more modern, You could try 'Ong Bak', Or 'Fist of the Condor' is great.
      Also please please please add 'District 13' to your list..awesome action, freerunning and martial arts....
      P.s. Yes 'Goodman' is in 'Flinstones'....Its ok, i'd actually say try 'Once Upon A Time In Little Venice' 'Goodman & Bruce Willis' Playing two ageing surfer hippies😉

    • @JW666
      @JW666 6 месяцев назад

      The 6th movie was ok, though that one felt more like a TV-movie. But the 7th movie was the weakest/worst movie in the series.

    • @JW666
      @JW666 6 месяцев назад

      @@FlorianD30 Yeah, Matt McCoy was pretty bland & it makes you miss Mahoney. Had Steve Guttenberg stayed Mahoney would have become a lieutenant (I guess he became a lieutenant in another state off screen).
      Matt McCoy was also in the 6th movie, but not in the 7th movie, in that one it was another bland character with fear of heights played by Charlie Schlatter (who voiced Flash in Superman TAS & Justice League Action)
      The irony is that Guttenberg turned down the 5th movie because he was tired of the franchise, but he later regretted doing that (mostly because his career was going downhill, which is my guess). He is more open to return for another movie, but I honestly don't want a reboot.

    Ironically, on my way home from the physical skills test for the SFPD academy (which I managed to pass despite missing a chunk of my right leg from a war wound - I was one tough SOB back in the day), I went to Comedy Day in the Park, and one of the comics was "Police Academy 2 (and 3 & 4)" star Bobcat Goldthwait. To this day, I remember him going off on a bizarre tangent in the middle of a grant about the difference between a hamster and a gerbil. Suddenly he shouted "And I'm not saying that making French toast is not a God given ability, but THAT was a looong time ago before we had Pop Tarts AS SUCH! Where'd I lose ya?"
    Stroke rehab update: yesterday, I was able to single leg press 90 lbs with my stroke weakened leg. At 160, that's still a long way from full weightbearing, but it's 10 lbs more than I could lift a month ago. I'm still kind of slow and sluggish, so I might not make a 100% recovery, but I believe I have a shot at becoming functional enough for a fully independent life which is good because I can't pay for a caregiver, and I refuse to sponge off my step daughter.

    or

    Great review Jen. Glad you liked it, I loved it when I first saw it as a kid back then. The guy who plays Mauser(Art Metrano), also has a small role in the Robin Williams movie "Toys", where he plays a security guard. 😊

    Haha nice you reviewed this one! 🙂This is my favorite in the series. So many subtle little things that crack me up, like Mahoney sitting in the chair at his slob partner's house and it just randomly breaks 😆 Plus Mauser is a great ahole to root against. Unfortunately, they start recycling the same jokes going forward and the rest of the series kinda sucks imo.

    Bruce Lee Movies are The Big Boss (released in U.S. as Fist of Fury), Fist of Fury, Way of The Dragon (released in U.S. as Return of The Dragon), Enter the Dragon, Game of Death. Any other movie about him like a documentary, or a look-a-like fake Bruce Lee imitator.

    Bob "Bobcat" Goldthwait. He reclaims this roll on part three. He was in "Scrooged" as the drunk guy that got fired. "One Crazy Summer" and "Hot to Trot " that movie has John Candy as a horse name Don. Those are the only others I can think of with him off the top of my head.

      Good shout, mate! I've been banging on about that for ages, that is one fab, gripping, thrilling, mysterious pulp fiction 70s flick.
      I have a 1978 vinyl pressing of the Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack to it and the front cover is genuinely hand-signed autographed by Laurence Olivier, Gregory Peck and James Mason. I obtained it from a USA dealership. Awesome score on that film. ♥

    7:52 To be fair, Nestle Crunch is a Top-Tier Candy Bar....and ants are high in protein, fibre, vitamins, and minerals.😋
    13:10 Jen's appreciation for the 80's is endlessly endearing, especially considering she was still Star-Dust back then. 🌠
    17:33 That's a Wall Bed, more commonly known as a Murphy Bed (though that's a brand name, like snowmobile vs. Ski-Doo).
    20:43 I feel like Carey Mahoney really influenced the character of Jake Peralta (Brooklyn Nine-Nine).

    7:25 I double checked and yes the firearms are accurate. Tackleberry upgrades to a Desert Eagle later in the film which was very forward thinking for 1985! The Desert Eagle very rarely appeared in 1980s films.

    Turner & Hooch is ok, but you really should watch K-9 if you haven't already.
    Honestly, the first Police Academy movie was kind of innovative. I mean, no single thing about it was ground-breaking, but it was a bit of a unique combination, and it worked. The other movies, are more of the same, taking what worked in the first movie, and doing it again. Some of them do it pretty well, but I have to come down on the side of the first movie being the best one simply because it brings something new to the table in a way that none of the others really did. The series as a whole does a good job of re-using characters in interesting ways, and several of the characters who were introduced as civilians in the second movie, show up in later movies as cadets.
