Marlin (Albert Brooks), a clown fish, is overly cautious with his son, Nemo (Alexander Gould), who has a foreshortened fin. When Nemo swims too close to the surface to prove himself, he is caught by a diver, and horrified Marlin must set out to find him. A blue reef fish named Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) -- who has a really short memory -- joins Marlin and complicates the encounters with sharks, jellyfish, and a host of ocean dangers. Meanwhile, Nemo plots his escape from a dentist's fish tank.

Timothee - "He's gotta be a bad dentist."
Me - Well here's one thing. He didn't wash his hands after using the bathroom at 17:17.
In 1994 the 4 guys in charge of Pixar got together for lunch & brainstormed ideas for other films they could make if Toy Story 1 was a success. During that lunch, they came up with the ideas for Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc., Finding Nemo, & WALL-E.
The Descendants (not to be confused with the Disney one)
19:47 the Anglerfish in the Mariana Trench
Tim I want you to which. Teenage mutant ninja turtles movie 🍿🍿🎥🎥
The scene with marlin chasing the boat as the piano swells in the background is cinematic perfection. It perfectly encapsulates the feeling of dread and worry that only a parent who has lost their child can truly understand
A father and son being separated is really depressing, yet it’s amazing how Marlin met Dory cause if it wasn’t for Dory Marlin wouldn’t have found Nemo. Great reactions Tim and Malbread
Finding Nemo really is a classic! It's one of those, not just Pixar, but animated films in general that belongs in the "Legendary" category. The whole adventure is mesmerizing, and I really love how Marlin cares so much for his son that he would travel the entire ocean for him. Any father can relate so much to him. The side characters were enjoyable too, especially Crush! He so totally rocks, dude!
Prior to making this movie, Pixar's art team were required to take a marine biology course so they could animate the types of creatures, limb movements, and behaviors as accurately as possible. I just admire that level of dedication. Plus the CGI water physics were revolutionary for the time.
Also, since fish aren’t expressive like these ones they modeled the faces after both humans and dogs.
The Pixar crew also took Diving Certificates in order to scuba diving among the coral reefs and watch the fishes and marine life.
The first test for making a CG sea, the guys made it look too realistic so they had to tone it down to make it more believable rather than 100 % real as it was meant to be a cartoon.
I miss old Pixar
Something I love is that while they establish that Marlin is overprotective, it’s also clear he and Nemo have a very loving dynamic. They only have friction when Marlin’s overprotectiveness becomes suffocating for Nemo.
Here are Finding Nemo Facts I have to share:
1. The reason for the “lucky fin” is because of the crack in the egg it altered how Nemo formed,
2. With Pixar films they usually have a teaser somewhere of what their next film will be for example in this one you see one of the kids is reading an Incredibles Comic, In the Incredibles during the battle you can see a car that looks like the Hudson Hornet, etc
3. The voice of Gil is Willem Dafoe who people know better as Green Goblin in the Spiderman films,
4. The voice of Crush is the film’s director Andrew Stanton,
5. The voice of Mr. Ray is another Pixar employee Bob Peterson,
6. After the release of the film a lot of people who meant well, but were not informed flushed their fish down the toilet, but what they don’t know is all of those fish went through the sewage treatment system and let’s just say bit the bullet,
7. One thing I learned because of my science teacher in high school is clown fish when there isn’t a female around change gender. So in actuality Marlin would have become a female based on science,
Also happy Canada Day Ey
Waite they change gender wow that's a new information thanks.
Marlin and Dory’s relationship is probably the best example of having a platonic relationship. Seriously, there was never a moment where I thought about shipping them.
Oh ? For me, they have more like a father/daughter relationship
Their relationship is so wholesome
its called a "friend"
Same except because I find Dory Is annoying that's why I can't ship, for some reason I always don't like comic relief characters.
I think Dory is supposed to represent Nemo to Marlin
Fun fact: Had Dory come up with all the other fish in the net at the end, they would have thrown her back. Blue Tang fish are poisonous to humans. Dory is inedible. Clownfish aren't poisonous, but there's so little meat on them that it's not economical to hunt them, so Nemo and Marlin would have been safe, too.
As a Kid I had a Two Disc DVD collection of this movie, all those bonus features, deleted scenes and commentary resulted in so much entertainment for me as a kid so I'll never forget it...
Also R.I.P to the voice of Bruce the Shark who passed recently
Same here. I watched this movie religiously when I was a kid. Still do as an adult. An all-time animated classic. And many more to come afterwards.
And, I used to have 📼 until I upgraded to blu ray and 📀 from Disney movie rewards.
@@nathancruz9172 Same! I still have the Blu-ray copy I bought in 2013. Memories cherished for all eternity.

20 years later and the anglerfish scene is still nightmare fuel.
Great reaction! I'll never forget this being the first movie I ever watched! I'm still in awe how much Finding Nemo excels in filmmaking. The animation, voice acting, screenplay, music score, humor, emotional depth, and scary elements are all tremendously good! Also, it's amazing how much Finding Nemo has changed pop culture forever. Every time I go to an aquarium, and see a clownfish/blue tang, there is at least one person who goes "Hey look, it's Nemo/Marlin/Dory!"
Fun fact: Finding Nemo was inspired by director Andrew Stanton's own experiences of being an overprotective father. Plus at 7:25 this was improvised. Voice actor Albert Brooks preceded to tell a terrible joke about a sea mollusk for an entire hour.
That explains a lot.
Kids give us a chance to be better than what we are. Nemo made his father better.
And Dory, well , she just too funny
I always loved how Dory kinda became like a surrogate mother for Nemo. Love can come from anywhere.
I saw that story in the wal-e trailer. An interesting story.
Fun fact about the water animation:
When they were animating it, they showed it to the boss, and they were promptly told to do it all over.
The reason? It was TOO realistic. They said if the waters too realistic, the audience would mistake it for a documentary, and fall asleep.
That makes sense. I remember when this movie came out and was a huge hit, one of my friends said he saw an early promo shot and the water looked dirty and boring. So the change was perfect.
"Here's Brucey!" Oh, okay. He's Johnny.😂
My headcanon: The one to blame for most of the events of Finding Nemo is... Mr Ray.
Mr. Ray is a spotted eagle ray, a species of ray that, though not aggressive, cause pain with its sting. They are also predators, the majority of their diet consists of gastropods, mollusks, and crabs, while also eating shrimps, octopus, worms, and small fish.
When Nemo arrives at the Sidney fish tank, after being captured, P. Sherman aka the dentist says that he found Nemo "struggling for life out on the reef".
It could mean Nemo's bad swimming, but also because Mr Ray was nearby, and P. Sherman may have thought that Mr Ray was attacking Nemo and the other fish.
While taking Nemo, one other diver, that took a pic of Marlin, may have tried to capture Mr. Ray, but he ran away with the other fish kids.
So basically, the majority of events on Finding Nemo was, indirectly, Mr. Ray's fault.
I like this theory. I thought that the dentist only claimed he was "struggling for his life" to justify capturing and keeping a wild, exotic fish for his aquarium. (Don't know why he'd entrust such a fish to Darla, though.)
This was my brother’s favorite movie when he was a baby. He would play with the DVD and take it anywhere around the house. The only part he freaked out was the anglerfish. Me too. 😁 The whale talk never gets old. 🤣 Awesome reaction as always
This is a movie despite the years its animation continues to look spectacular how they created everything looks so real of the ocean One of the best of Pixar
This Pixar film never gets old, one of my favorites! I enjoy the characters (Crush being my favorite), the music, and the wholesome moments as well.🙂🌊🐠🐬🦈🐡🐳
Even this legendary classic can even make a big man cry.
As an Australian I'm glad to see an American made film set in Australia that doesn't rely on stereotypes.
Exactly
This film is absolutely brilliant, along with Wall-E...of course including everything, the pelican fart scene will always be hilarious to me 🤣
I can definitely relate to Nemo because of my learning difficulties, my anxiety and A.D.H.D.
Me too. Plus, I have autism and auditory disorders when, I was 3 years old.
Willem Dafoe did a great job in this movie!
This and Norman Osborn/Green Goblin are in my opinion, his finest performances 👍💯.
@@williehampton3855 he was also great in Aquaman, The Lighthouse, Life Aquatic, and much more
@rileygarraway Gil is something of a scientist himself, isn’t he.?
@@williehampton3855 Yup
@@abc.animal5143 He’s great in all of his movies, including John Wick
I always find it wholesome that because of Marlin’s story, not only were the rest of the various species amazed, but they were very supportive of him and his journey to find Nemo.
This movie is just so good
I remember watching this movie on TV a bunch of times, and I really thought it was pretty great. I even remember this movie being re-released in 3D for a limited time, and let’s be honest. Who would want to watch this movie again in theaters? It’s just another hit for Pixar. (Also, I like how the sharks are trying so hard to be friends with fish. Fish are friends, not food.)
'90s kid here! I used to fall asleep to this movie on DVD almost every night in the aughts, and I still listen to the soundtrack to fall asleep!
this movie aged like wine the animation is top tier
Something about this movie I love is even though Marlin is a paranoid, neurotic, overprotective father, you understand why because any Father who lost his wife and entire family the way he did would be traumatized.
I actually learned recently that the opening scene was originally intended as a flashback. But when they tested it on audiences, it got a negative feedback because they automatically knew Marlin as a helicopter parents so even tho the same scene showed up as a flashback, it still left the audience with a bad impression of marlin. As opposed to when they moved that scene to the opening, it was much better received, because they knew right off the bat why he was the way he was, which makes sense to me. I also think the brief flashback when the fishing boat incident was resolved was perfect. Not too long and we still technically stayed in the present.
Did you know in the opening scene when Marlin was fighting the barracuda it says that male clownfish doesn’t fight or help female clownfish to defeat any dangerous sea creatures. Which means Marlin is not a male clownfish he’s a female clownfish which explains how Marlin fight the barracuda to try help his wife Coral to save many children as she can.
Excellent choice my dude! I saw it on DVD when I was 6 and it always stays fresh! Classic movie from my childhood!
Me too. However, my brother once told me that we went to see finding Nemo in the theaters 20 years ago.
Dory telling Marlin to let go actually makes sense in a weird way. It's like I always say: Sometimes you just have to put trust in your own abilities and that of those around you, and take a leap of faith
What an amazing movie, especially against the background of the popular spongebob with its marine theme, Disney and Pixar managed to make an amazing masterpiece with notes of drama for all time.
Fun fact! Bruce is named after the robot used for Jaws. One that is well-known as a pain in the neck for the Jaws filmmakers.
I really like how Dory stuck around to help Marlin find Nemo, she’s forgetful but she’s very wise 💙
Especially in the whale scene
I watched this movie when I was a kid I used to love Nemo a lot 😊 I enjoyed watch this.
Me too.
Happy Canada day 🇨🇦❤️🤍❤️
Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Fun Fact:
The fish at 13:00 isn't shaking because he's scared, he's shaking because he's hungry and hasn't eaten any fish. The end credits scene shows him with the Anglerfish sneaking up on him, and he eats the Anglerfish.
Oh yes, I remember that scene

I absolutely love this movie! I first saw it as a middle aged adult, and I still watch it as an old adult!
So is my dad.
A wise man once said "Grab your snacks because we're about to watch...")
The fact that I was 3 when this movie came out... I don't remember because I was too young, but it apparently was the first movie I ever saw in theaters. It still is one of my top 3 favorite animated movies of all time, even 20 years later.
Edit: commented before I watched the vid... What a coincidence, that it was both of our first movies in theaters 🤣
13:50 I remember watching the DVD’s special features and the crew said that since the film was set (mostly) in Australia, they made sure that the cast consisted of some Aussie actors (the sharks, dentist, pelicans, crab, and other fish in the ocean) as Americans can’t do the Aussie accent properly. As an Aussie myself I appreciate that choice.
There really isn't a movie more perfect for Father's Day than this one.
For a 20 year old movie, the animation looks beyond phenomenal
Finding Nemo is one of those movies I watched on repeat as a kid and I still vaguely remember the time I saw it in theaters
This is my favorite Pixar movie. It has a special place in my heart ❤️ I have autism and Dory is a inspiring character for me and many others. She’s also my favorite character. Just keep swimming 🐳🐠🐢
Tim!!! Malbread!! You two just made my day!!!
That hammerhead shark was voiced by Eric BANA, the guy who played Bruce Banner in the Ang Lee Hulk movie from 2003
I Didn't Know It's The Same Actor From Hulk (2003)
There is a Finding Nemo ride at Epcot called The Seas with Nemo and Friends. It’s just like The Little Mermaid ride at Magic Kingdom, except the Finding Nemo ride has an aquarium, gift shop, and Turtle Talk with Crush presentation at the end. Not to mention a 25-40 minute musical at Animal Kingdom.
This was the first movie I saw in theaters as a kid too! Born in 98! I was 5 when I saw it!
Me too. But, I was born in 97.
This movie will always be in my heart ❤❤❤, I went to the cinema to see finding Dory when I was 7 and I loved it the exact same way I loved finding nemo ❤️❤️❤️
Dude, I just have one thing to say: Just keep swimming.
The music when the title screen comes up always gives me goosebumps. I love it so much.
Fun fact: Bob Peterson, who worked in story, had called his dentist and spent hours on the phone to learn everything about the tools and learned how to conduct a root canal.
The name “P. Sherman” Dory is trying to remember is a gag made by Filipino animators at Pixar. It’s a pun on “fisherman.”
It's amazing how the movement of light and shadows creates the presence of water.
And yes, thanks to Stanton for my early thalassophobia.
When Tim said that he was born in 2000s not gonna lie i was pretty shock about it 😅 😂,i though he was like 25-27 years old,but no he just 1 year older than me😂😅,Btw great reaction ❤😊
The Seagulls are always funny to me!!!😂😂😂

Finding Nemo was also the first movie I went to go see in theaters
Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦
One of the cutest movies honestly. Don’t forget to check the second part, “finding Dory”. That’s another great story about these fishes! Hope you’ll enjoy that as well!
Finding Nemo and finding dory is my favorite Pixar movie sways just keep swimming
i don t care what theories are made this is still the best disney movie ever made
Fun fact, though some of you probably already know this but Gill is played by Willem Dafoe aka Green Goblin from Spider-Man (2002)
Finally, the fish classic

Hope you enjoyed it! This year is Finding Nemo's 20th anniversary!
That pink flat thing close to the beginning of the movie is actually a species of marine flatworm.
This was my Childhood when I was little! and I also love Shark Tale

I still stand that Finding Nemo is a perfect pixar movie. Absolute masterpiece! Btw, Happy Canada day fellow Canadian and Quebecer ;)
hey tim and mal yall us 2000s babies really had it made💯💯💯💯🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
The Beginning backstory in Finding Nemo is the most saddest and the most shocking backstory in any animated film I’ve ever seen
There's that one part at the end, the tank gang escaped this time!
Finding Nemo is an Classic!! I was just watching your reaction of tangled which you did with malbread you both are an amazing duo love seeing you together Amazing reaction as usual loved it ❤❤
Favorite Pixar Movie Ever
20 years.. Damn I feel old lol, 2003 I was a freshman in High school lol Also if you think about the turtles age implications it's kind of wild, he's 150 years old, which means he was born well before "Dude" became how it's used now, which means Crush probably adapted how he spoke through out the course of his life, he may well have been speaking The Queen's English in his younger life and then devolved to California surfer slang lol truly poetic.
One of my favourite things about this movie is unlike other Dreamworks and Disney movies it's life lesson is mainly focused on parents with the lesson being not to be over protective.
The sad part of sea turtle hatching is that is that most of them don't survive because they are on their own. And then birds, large fish, and crazy waves end up messing them all up.
Love when you bring on Malbread!!!!! Love you girl! Tim! You’re awesome as well! Love you both. And love this movie!
14:47 - 14:51 Here 's Brucey 😂😂😂😂😂
Theres a dark conspiracy theory about this movie that suggests the entire movie is Marlin going thru the 5 stages of grief and accepting that his family is gone and HD shouldnt let the past keep him from living his life, and that goodbye at the end is Marlin actually saying Goodbye to his family. Once finding dory came out, that all went Out the window😂
Constantly watched this movie when it came out. 😅 Knew it almost word for word haha! Still love this awesome family film ❤️❤️🐟🐳😁
Finding Nemo was also the first movie I saw on theaters.
This is one of the best Disney Pixar classic movie.
Marlin is my favorite fish dad!
Bruce is voiced by quite recently late Barry Humphries, best known for his comedy skits as Dame Edna Everage and Sir Leslie Patterson and for motion capturing and voicing The Great Goblin in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Chum is voiced by Bruce Spence, known for playing The Gyrocopter Pilot in Mad Max 2: Road Warrior and Mad Max 3, as well as The Mouth of Sauron in The Extended Edition of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and Tion Medon in Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith.
