I like to sometimes think the headcanon is that Andy and his mom are actually moving not only because of it being his birthday but the fact she didn't want Andy hanging around Sid. I mean if I was a parent I wouldn't want to live next to a family who allows their son to casually blow up his own toys in the backyard with loud explosives.

This is one of the most influential films both in animation and in the childhood of many. I remember that it was one of my favorites when I was a child.
18:05, that’s what it’s a reference to and in the animated television series Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, there’s an episode called The Planet Destroyer where Zurg creates a Death Star type Doomsday device and says “Behold my Planet Destroyer!! Patent pending”.
Toy Story was pretty revolutionary at the time. I mean yeah sure there are some moments that haven’t aged well but it makes me appreciate how far animation has come.
This was the first full length computer animated film ever made, there had been shorts and other media made previously that was cgi, but this was the first film and was given a special oscar and nominated for Best Song, Best Score, and Best Original Screenplay unfortunately losing all three, but in 2005 it was one of 25 films selected for preservation in the National film Registry for being Culturally, Historically, or Aesthetically Significance. The titles of the books behind Woody during the staff meeting are titles of Pixar shorts.
The animation team for Toy Story perfected the movement of the Green Army Men by gluing some sneakers to a sheet of wood and trying to walk around with them on.
I've heard a theory that when Woody and Buzz took flight to catch up with the moving van, Woody let go of RC on purpose and let him crash into PotatoHead. I can kinda picture it.
I have to question that, since the other toys had to get out of the way for R.C. to hit Potato Head. Which, if they hadn't moved, Woody would've hit them instead, which I don't believe Woody would've wanted.
Snow White and Toy Story. Two films introducing two different animation styles for movies, but both timeless classics. Wow. It is amazing looking back at movies that started it all.
Growing up with Toy Story, I never understood how much of a horror movie it was. And also I love the nod to Home Improvement with the Binford tool box in Sid's room
Examine the room Buzz hides from Scud in. Dude passed out in chair with can next to him and the fact Scud actually whimpers as he retreats. Can guess that's the dad the can is beer and violent drunk tendencies if the dog is scared
@@jewel9117 Scud isn’t a terrible dog. His aggressive tendencies are an extension of Sid’s destructive play style with his toys. He’s basically been taught that it’s ok to destroy toys
16:28 that’s the first time I noticed the A113 reference in Toy Story, I’ve seen it in every other film except this one. For those who don’t know, that number was the room number of the animation classroom where many Disney animators were taught.
Before they got Tim Allen for Buzz, they offered it to Billy Crystal, who turned it down. He still says to this day it was the biggest mistake he ever made, and so when he was offered Mike Wazowski in Monsters Inc, he jumped on it.
Fun fact: Mr Potato Head is played by Don Rickles. He was a spritz comic or insult comedian, he roasted Frank Sinatra and even Ronald Regan when he was governor and president. I highly recommend you watch those videos cause it’s pretty hilarious
Toy Story is one of Pixar's best films and I love this film so much, Woody and Buzz's scenes bring me lots of laughs and I love all the characters in this film! Thanks for reacting to this one Timothee and already cannot wait for the Toy Story 2 video!
9:23 fun fact thats a reference to Tyco a toy company that Mattel bought in the 80s,the thing it's that Rex was based on the T.rex from Dino Riders one of the most popular lines from Tyco
46:11, Toy Story was in 1995, Toy Story 2 was in 1999, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins was in 2000, Toy Story 3 was in 2010, Toy Story 4 was in 2019, and Lightyear was in (if I recall correctly) 2022
I put this on every reaction to this movie, but… I was watching this at my uncle’s house. My uncle walks in right at the part where they scare Sid. My uncle asks “What is this, some kind of horror movie?”
The toy story is a true classic movie. All of the characters in this movie are very incredible, i can't decide which one is my favorite. And the type of dog breed that Scud was based off of was a Bull Terrier.
"Why is this claw the most precise claw game I have ever seen?" Back in the 1970's or so, when arcade machines were just becoming the new teen hum or gathering place, claw machines were made a few years after some small mere games involving actual small, yet precise, construction machinery games, so when claw machines came to light they had no meter but a tension on how tight the claws would hold, and since they didn't have sensors attached to them yet, they would always have tight grips and would have more of a higher percent chance if winning than the modern day claw machines do, cus now people of the modern day can use a dial to tell it on how tight or how loose they want the claw to hold onto an item or how the item is held in claw machines, back then it wasn't as reserved as it is now
That was what I was told by my family whom just to happened to work in his youth at a arcade when crane games came out..also as much as it is a scam now in the modern day, back then, without the dial and the sensor to the claw, they would have more times needing maintenence back then than they do now, due to the fact rhat here was no dial or sensor to losses the grips, the claws would usually get stuck and jammed shut, cus of the gears and coils always interlocking when the claw closes or it grabs onto something and doesn't let go of it...nearly causing claw machines to fade away entirely cus unlike now where they are in a cord or wire, they were on two thin rods with a stretchable and very slow piston, that let the claw down without it moving, more times than not causing it to lock up
7:05 This film had such a fun concept. I'd love to see Tim watch some other films where inanimate objects come to life, i.e. *Gnomeo & Juliet* , *Night at the Museum* , Small Soldiers, etc.

40:25 i loved this scene so much that i wish i could fly like that. Best time i saw this was Disney On Ice: Toy Story and i loved the effects they did for this.
This is great timing. I just did a presentation over how Pixar made Toy Story. Fun-fact Pixar created the software RenderMan for Toy Story which was later used for live actions like Titanic and Terminator 2.
To be honest, the first half of the movie basically a whole workplace seminar video about how to and not to behave. From how to handle a staff meeting 4:48, flirting in the workplace 4:09, to treat a new employee 8:10, and to spot discrimination towards your peers 12:09.
I remember of watching this one with my mother on the classic green VHS. For years, I always wanted the toys but thought they never existed until I got a Woody figure on birthday and Buzz Lightyear on Christmas (late 2000s, to be more specific, since everything in Brazil takes a while to a trend be popular) Now I decided to give them to my niece since I'm obviously too old to play with them and she promised to take care of them.
I freaking love Toy Story so much. The characters, a great story about toys that fits perfectly with the rudimentary animation and good sequels. Literally perfect and can’t wait for future videos with you guys 😁😁😁
Here’s a Fun Fact for ya!: at 23:13 a former pixar employee used to break his toys and come up with sadistic terrifying new ideas such as the lost eye toy or Janie with pterodactyl wings and that was inspired from the film the animators nicknamed him Lil Jack Nicholson because of his creativity 😂
Toy Story is without a doubt one of my favorite CG animated films but also an influential animated film as not only it resulted in Pixar Animation Studios to become a household animation studio in CG animation, but it also was a massive hit when it launched and a gamechanger for animated films, it clearly was the "Snow White" of CG Animated movies. On top of that this film, this came out the same year when I was born: 1995. Surprisingly enough, despite Angelina (who reacted to the film) being "frightened" by the CG in Toy Story, for the first CG animated film in history, I wasn't scared/bothered by the CGI for this movie as the CG aged well since this film and VeggieTales I grew accustomed to CG animation along with 2D Animation, but Stop-Motion films (e.g. Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, Aardman) that's another story. Looking forward to your upcoming reactions to the next _Toy Story_ films on the channel, especially the third film and thank you Timothee for reacting to One of my favorite Pixar films.
@@EChacon I was just trying to be funny. I was just saying that's not being terrified of outdated animation, it's being terrified of something that was meant to be terrifying. The movie did its job.
One thing I learned not too long ago is that for the kids showing up to Andy’s birthday party all had the same character model as Andy. Another thing I noticed between the 1st and 2nd movie is the house that Andy moved into looks pretty much the same but the surroundings drastically changed. It went from the house looking like it’s the only house in the area to being part of a neighborhood.
Gosh, I remember seeing this for the first time in the theater, blown sheer away at how incredibly fun it was and still is. I watch the moving truck chase way too often, such a fantastic sequence.
Interesting to note: Billy Crystal would’ve played Buzz Lightyear initially, but he felt Toy Story wouldn’t stand a chance at making it big at the box office, so he left. What a regret he made at the time, only to find success with another Pixar film that would later become Monsters Inc.
They were originally supposed to have a GI Joe blown up, but Hasbro refused, saying they were upset with them blowing it up. The compromise they reached was that they could have Potato Head instead. Pixar agreed, and they made it a Combat Carl instead.
Similarly, Bo Peep was created when Mattel, predicting a flop, declined to license Barbie for this movie. This is up there with M&Ms/Mars passing on _E.T._ as one of the all-time bad calls in product placement. And now, Bo's slight retcon in the fourth movie makes sense.
Not sure if you guys realized but during the Mrs. Nesbitt scene when Buzz says "Marie Antoinette and her little sister" is a French Revolution joke. But yeah the carpet is a reference to The Shining, so good catch with the references!
Here are some fun facts about this movie. Firstly, as you were catching on, the animators were big fans of the film The Shining, so yes, that was the same carpet from The Shining. Secondly, Sid's toolbox is the brand Binford tools. This is a reference to Tim Allen’s ( the voice of Buzz) big other project at the time, the TV show Home Improvement, where his character worked as a TV handyman sponsored by the tool company Binford. (This would be like if Craftsman tools sponsored a handyman corner sort of TV show). Thirdly the semi-truck that almost ran Woody over as well as the gas station that was at, was all the brand Dinoco which would later appear in Pixar's film Cars. Lastly, when animating these characters, they did not have the ability to have the characters blink with both eyes at the same time. They hid it well, but if you watch every time someone blinks in this film, it is always one eye at a time. I love these films and all of Pixar's work. It is so fun to watch them with you.
A classic favorite from my childhood, Toy Story was definitely ahead of its time as one of the best animated movies Disney and Pixar could have ever done! Thanks to Timothee and Clariss for this entertaining and comedic reaction to a timeless gem from the 90s, and Tim Allen and Tom Hanks play the parts of Buzz Lightyear and Woody to pure perfection! The animation team for Toy Story perfected the movement of the Green Army Men by gluing some sneakers to a sheet of wood and trying to walk around with them on.
That Claw Machine is the most unbelievable thing in this entire movie.
One of the best family franchises that pulls of being enjoyable to kids with sprinkled in adult references
@@gurvmlkI think Woody was trying to save RC since he just said earlier that rockets blow up and he didn’t want RC getting hurt
Another super legend. I remember my Disney magazines how wonderful it is to remember my childhood again
Snow White and Toy Story. Two films introducing two different animation styles for movies, but both timeless classics. Wow. It is amazing looking back at movies that started it all.
Yes true classic Snow White 2d Disney animation Toy Story 3d Disney animation
Growing up with Toy Story, I never understood how much of a horror movie it was. And also I love the nod to Home Improvement with the Binford tool box in Sid's room
Examine the room Buzz hides from Scud in. Dude passed out in chair with can next to him and the fact Scud actually whimpers as he retreats. Can guess that's the dad the can is beer and violent drunk tendencies if the dog is scared
I actually feel bad for Scud now and even WORSE for Hannah.... even SID! No WONDER he's so messed up. At least Hannah gets some justice!
@@jewel9117 Scud isn’t a terrible dog. His aggressive tendencies are an extension of Sid’s destructive play style with his toys. He’s basically been taught that it’s ok to destroy toys
Not to mention the amount of locks on Sid's door...
He suits Mike Wazowski so much better. His squeaky/loud voice matches Mike’s bossy style
I still think it’s funny that even though Buzz thinks he’s real he still goes into toy mode whenever people are around
Me too.
The thing is that Woody is from his dad before his dad died so Buzz would be second to me, and there is only one Woody
I love how Buzz calls the headless doll Marie Antoinette, great French Revolution joke!
TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!! A classic phrase.
9:23 fun fact thats a reference to Tyco a toy company that Mattel bought in the 80s,the thing it's that Rex was based on the T.rex from Dino Riders one of the most popular lines from Tyco
And Tyco would be known 1 year later as the toymaker of the first Tickle Me Elmo doll.
I always found it interesting that Andy and Sid never interacted with each other.
Andy was probably afraid of Sid and Sid probably thought Andy was a soft little kid.
(Sid’s supposed to be 13 in this movie while Andy is like 9-10)
46:11, Toy Story was in 1995, Toy Story 2 was in 1999, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins was in 2000, Toy Story 3 was in 2010, Toy Story 4 was in 2019, and Lightyear was in (if I recall correctly) 2022
I put this on every reaction to this movie, but…
I was watching this at my uncle’s house.
Fun fact that you missed: the red tool box says binford tools on it. This is a reference to home improvement, one of Tim Allen’s best shows
I could probably recite this entire movie from memory. Same with Monsters Inc, Madagascar, and The Incredibles
In my childhood, I used to think Toy Story was a scary movie during the scenes in Sid’s home.
The gas station is called Dinoco, a brand in the movie Cars.
8:24, I agree. Even so the direct to video movie Buzz Lightyear of Star Command from the year 2000 (which was remade as Lightyear) is pretty good
I appreciate this reaction so much, because I'm now also noticing a lot of these little jokes for the first time! Never noticed as a kid.
"Why is this claw the most precise claw game I have ever seen?"
Back in the 1970's or so, when arcade machines were just becoming the new teen hum or gathering place, claw machines were made a few years after some small mere games involving actual small, yet precise, construction machinery games, so when claw machines came to light they had no meter but a tension on how tight the claws would hold, and since they didn't have sensors attached to them yet, they would always have tight grips and would have more of a higher percent chance if winning than the modern day claw machines do, cus now people of the modern day can use a dial to tell it on how tight or how loose they want the claw to hold onto an item or how the item is held in claw machines, back then it wasn't as reserved as it is now
That was what I was told by my family whom just to happened to work in his youth at a arcade when crane games came out..also as much as it is a scam now in the modern day, back then, without the dial and the sensor to the claw, they would have more times needing maintenence back then than they do now, due to the fact rhat here was no dial or sensor to losses the grips, the claws would usually get stuck and jammed shut, cus of the gears and coils always interlocking when the claw closes or it grabs onto something and doesn't let go of it...nearly causing claw machines to fade away entirely cus unlike now where they are in a cord or wire, they were on two thin rods with a stretchable and very slow piston, that let the claw down without it moving, more times than not causing it to lock up
7:05 This film had such a fun concept. I'd love to see Tim watch some other films where inanimate objects come to life, i.e. *Gnomeo & Juliet* , *Night at the Museum* , Small Soldiers, etc.
such a classic, one of my childhood movies i really like sid, andy, buzz and woody, it feels like home :)
I was 3 when TS came out. So many great memories with this movie. My parents even bought me a buzz lightyear. I came up with so many stories when I played with him and my action figures. Besides the my brother and me would react buzz and woody's fight at the gas station.
I used to have nightmares with that one-eyed baby head thing when I was a kid. Am I the only one?
No. Same here. Your not the only one who had nightmares of him. Plus Plus his name is BabyFace in case you never knew his real name after all these years of watching “Toy Story”.

27:45 look at the way Buzz is moving! 😂😂😂😂
I really loved the music in this film this film was a staple on my childhood.
Buzz: I don't believe that man's ever been to medical school.
Me: I don't believe that man's ever been to any school!
Man this take me back to the good old days
I remember of watching this one with my mother on the classic green VHS. For years, I always wanted the toys but thought they never existed until I got a Woody figure on birthday and Buzz Lightyear on Christmas (late 2000s, to be more specific, since everything in Brazil takes a while to a trend be popular) Now I decided to give them to my niece since I'm obviously too old to play with them and she promised to take care of them.
Seems like a Bonnie situation. Keep a good watch on what happens to that Woody doll.
The dolls head on spider legs scared the shit out of me as a kid!
This Was The 1st Pixar Movie That Started It All And Changed Animation Forever
I freaking love Toy Story so much. The characters, a great story about toys that fits perfectly with the rudimentary animation and good sequels. Literally perfect and can’t wait for future videos with you guys 😁😁😁
Remember, it's not flying, it's falling with style.
In France it's " falling with panache "
Here’s a Fun Fact for ya!: at 23:13 a former pixar employee used to break his toys and come up with sadistic terrifying new ideas such as the lost eye toy or Janie with pterodactyl wings and that was inspired from the film the animators nicknamed him Lil Jack Nicholson because of his creativity 😂
Can I just say this is one of my favorite movies of all time
Toy Story is without a doubt one of my favorite CG animated films but also an influential animated film as not only it resulted in Pixar Animation Studios to become a household animation studio in CG animation, but it also was a massive hit when it launched and a gamechanger for animated films, it clearly was the "Snow White" of CG Animated movies.
Hello fellow 95 baby. It’s fun seeing what movies came out on your birth year
I mean, isn't it being terrified at something that's supposed to be terrifying the accurate response?
@@jordancooney6817 It doesn't matter what the correct response is besides, why make a fuss over it?
@@EChacon I was just trying to be funny. I was just saying that's not being terrified of outdated animation, it's being terrified of something that was meant to be terrifying. The movie did its job.
Just a quick reminder here: "Sid Did Nothing Wrong".
Loved you both react to this amazing movie.
Since Woody knows full names of people, you'd think he could look into phone directories to find Andy's new place.
Yes finally we are watching Toy Story!
Fun Fact: When Buzz Got Hit By The Lamp You Can Hear Wilheam Scream From Star Wars: A New Hope
35:32 - 32:56 i love his reaction to this scene in the movie is the best 😂😂😂😂😂
26:00 "Sri Lanka, New Guinea, Sumatra, New Zealand, and Borneo and Vietnam!"
Sorry, I couldn't resist. :)
This was one of my childhood favourites along with The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Finding Nemo.
Toy Story is one of the greatest movies ever made imo
Not sure if you guys realized but during the Mrs. Nesbitt scene when Buzz says "Marie Antoinette and her little sister" is a French Revolution joke.
But yeah the carpet is a reference to The Shining, so good catch with the references!
Toy Story was the first animated movie I ever watched, before Toy Story I only liked ‘real people’ movies 😂😊❤
Toy Story Came Out When I Was 5 Months Old.
Holds Special Meaning For Me, Woody And Buzz Have Been A Part Of My Life Since.
Ohh I LOVED Toy Story as one of my most favorite Disney/Pixar film of all time, glad you enjoy this timeless computer animated film in history.
