In a world where the towns are peopled with cars, and even the bugs are mini motors, a young ambitious racing car called Lightning McQueen is a star. On his way to an important event he has to stop in the little town of Radiator Springs after he accidentally damages the road and is forced to repair it. He finds living in a community oddly endearing, making true friends and beginning to realise there's more in life than winning. A Pixar animation.

@@heavenlywithhishandsNice stereotyping and labeling. That type of behavior and mentality *totally* doesn’t contribute to society’s ills or anything. “Stars and bars” people are a) still people, and b) drawn to whatever one happens to be drawn to. Quit painting entire segments of society in broad strokes just because it suits your political obsessions. Bet you don’t like it when you and whoever’s trendy to support get treated that way, so don’t do it to others just because you think you’re “good”. It’s all perspective, jagoff. Many of history’s biggest oppressors and tyrants were convinced they were the good guys, too. A certain infamous Austrian painter, soldier, chancellor, dictator, and warmonger whose name has been reduced to a meaningless hateful buzzword comes to mind in particular.
And no, I’m not about that Confederate flag shit. (While I don’t support canceling it or really anything else-because hiding things and censoring history only prevents people from using that knowledge to prevent repetition of mistakes-the flag does make me feel a little…ick.) Only Old Glory, Stars and Stripes for me. A particularly unhinged sympathizer for the Democrat-backed Confederacy (John Wilkes Booth) murdered one of my heroes (Abraham Lincoln) just because he blamed him for all his petty woes and because the man dared to free the slaves. Fuck the confederacy, fuck the Democratic party-which STILL keeps people in chains and whips them into compliance-and fuck every self-righteous asshole who has the audacity to think they’re something new and special while continuing to help those vampires keep us divided. (Not just the Democrats, but RINOs too. My allegiance is to the republic itself, not *just* the party named for it. I ultimately share George Washington’s belief that the party system was a very bad idea. And he has no idea how right he was.) The way you phrased your comment tells me quite a lot about your mentality, so you better believe I’m referring to you, too. (And no, I don’t necessarily see myself as “the good guy” or anything so idealistic. I’m simply me, for better or worse. I’m not arrogant enough to parade about like some grand exalted savior. I will point my sword at anyone I deem unjust and guilty of contributing to this societal dumpster fire of fear, hate, division, idealism, and extremism.)

    • @Armaldo468
      @Armaldo468 9 месяцев назад

@@heavenlywithhishandsAnd no, I don’t care how excessive my other reply is. I’m sick and tired of people like you going around acting like you’re better than others because of x, y, and z. Nobody’s better than anybody else solely on the grounds of completely subjective ideologies, and I will not hesitate to try and shock self-righteous clowns out of their lofty, narcissistic mentalities. I won’t have the exceptionalism crap. Nobody’s a hero just for subscribing to this or that viewpoint. If I’m the bad guy for that, so be it. I’d rather be hated for being sincere to a fault and not pulling my punches than be loved for lying to myself and everyone around me by pretending I’m the keeper of all that’s good.

Fun fact The Hudson Hornet is a real car manufactured by Hudson in the early 50s. Chick Hicks is a 79 Shyster Cremlin in the movies but is based off either a 86 Buick Regal or 87 Buick Grand National in real life. And Dinoco King is actually a Plymouth Superbird, but you can also say that he is actually a 69 dodge charger daytona 500 as they are both very similar.

It seriously bugs me how this film is considered to be the black sheep of Pixar’s golden age.
It has a creative and accurate depiction of racing culture, a tribute to US Route 66 and small towns that got bypassed, masterful storytelling that culminates in gradual character arcs that take full advantage of its runtime, which is accomplished through dynamics with other characters in this film, Randy Newman’s phenomenal score, a great song selection, a perfect voice cast, solid humour, groundbreaking visuals, and most importantly, passion and dedication put into this film by its filmmakers.
But no, people would rather fixate on how the Cars universe doesn’t make any sense and not even address the story or characters because according to critics and RUclipsrs like Schaffrillas Productions, JelloApocalypse or Mr. Enter, it’s “Pixar’s first bad film”.

    • @Armaldo468

But of course-it’s so much easier and tReNdiER to just follow the herd and not think for oneself, don’tcha know? (God I’m tired of mindless followers in every arena. And that goes for EVERYTHING. I’ve interacted with countless *ants* that have had more independent thought than most people, and they’re literal hive animals. I’d probably say the same for various kinds of bees, too, but I have a major phobia of all “winged stingers” and tend to avoid being around them as much as possible.) Morons.😑 I’m with ya, 100%. Very well addressed, by the way.

As a viewer, subscriber and enjoyer of schaffrillas production's, yeah he had a massive L take on that one. Because with that logic, the toys being alive in toy story makes no sense, so it's a "bad movie" same thing with a bugs life,

I don't think it really matters but I see where its coming from. Toy Story is a story that specifically wouldn't work if it wasn't about sentient toys.

Accidental bumps happen all the time in NASCAR. They are driving 200 miles per hour, so trying to wreck someone on purpose is essentially a death sentence. When a crash happens they bring out the caution flag and get the cars that can still drive back on the track to finish the race.👍🏼

Cars is such a phenomenal movie! Beautiful animation, great behind the scenes and Easter eggs, hilarious jokes and a lot of adult ones, the best character arc, and such an emotional movie too. Like one of my favorite moments and emotional moments is when doc talks about how he went back after almost dying and they told him IT’S OVER. YOU’RE HISTORY. “There was a lot left in me, I never got the chance to show them.” The Hudson Hornet wasn’t only a real brand of cars, but “The FABULOUS HUDSON HORNET” is really based on two real hornets that shared the name. Back then Hudson Hornets were dirt track racers. My favorite part about this film and Pixar in general is when they do so much research. The creator and director of Cars is personally obsessed with actual cars and racing. All the cars are based on real racing cars, it was the first Pixar film to use ray tracing to make light reflect, they recorded the actual cars they’re based off, they got real racing legends to voice characters, and he took the whole animation and sound crew to Route 66 to experience how it’s like. Watch the behind the scenes.

Here's my theory to McQueen stopping before the finish line. Normally at first glance, anyone would say he could've helped King Dinoco after he'd himself finish the race first. But apart from the Doc Hudson flashback, I think the real reason they did that is because after a driver finishes the race, he wouldn't be allowed to go back and even if it was allowed it still wouldn't legally count.

I've never seen this entire movie for over 10 years. I first saw it as a kid. It was a pretty great Pixar movie with life-learning lessons.
RIP to Doc Hudson’s voice actor, Paul Newman (1925-2008). Paul did a phenomenal job of voicing Hudson. Sadly, Hudson had already gone before the events of Cars 2 due to the voice actor’s death.

And that’s likely why his character was deceased by the next film, although the third did feature Hudson it was mainly just in flashbacks and with archived recordings by Newman.

This movie, along with Disney's Tarzan were one of those movies where I would be able to sit in front of the TV and watch this movie on repeat aaaall day and still want more (I had a CD of few classic movies and Cars along with Tarzan, both Toy Story movies and the Robots movie). Hell, the best memory I got when I moved to Poland was me being 8 years old, sitting on the floor with my cousins in a basically empty living room, freshly painted, couches moved in and the big, ol chunky TV, watching Cars on it while munching on pizza with my 6 cousins.

First time I saw this when it came out in 2006 I was 12 and now I'm 29!! Still love it to this day!! I remember cuz I was in las vas on vacation with my family cuz my dad had to go on business. Me, my mom, and my little sister went and saw it in a theater in our hotel believe it or not!! We then went to Arizona the next day and guess where we stayed?! Yep, route 66 and in a train car at a motel!! Pretty crazy after seeing this the day before. I will always remember it though. ❤

HE REACTED TO CARS! FINALLY! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
    *ahem*
I hate how a significant amount of people misunderstand this movie.
I still hate Schaffrillas for everything bad he said about the movie. Like "The humor's not funny" or "The movie's not charming, entertaining, or engaging". No, that's just a "him" problem than anything actually wrong with the movie. The movie's an actual laugh riot, and Mater too. (I also appreciate the serious, and emotional moment too)
People might say i'm biased (and i wouldn't blame them for it). The movie came out and i watched when i was like 1, and i loved every second of it, and still do to this very day! I said it! I'm 18 and i love this movie THIS much. I never picked up on the flashing joke until people talked about it on the internet.
Glad we share something in common, Tim.
I personally suggested Owen Wilson as Yoshi for the Mario movie sequel, but wouldn't mind if they pick someone else.
I'll talk about Cars 2, and Schaffrillas when the reaction is up.
I feel like i've got more to say about Cars 1, but i don't remember everything i wanted to say.

Fun Fact: there was a deleted scene after lightning gets lost titled “Lost” where because he has no headlights, he stumbles upon a pit full of dead cars with their insides coming out their windows with dead trees. The scene where he gets strapped and chased by the Stanley statue in the deleted scene was a dead car muffler. That scene was one of those unnecessary scenes but I feel like it would’ve been one of the darkest moments in the car’s franchise besides Cars 2’s body count

You didn't place the dedicatory to Paul Newman, Doc's voice actor, who passed away before the making of Cars 2. Cars to deviates a lot from the first and third movies because of the passing of Paul Newman, so while they figure out what to do they made the focus on Mater and made a spy movie. Then the third went to the usual.

As a kid, i really dont know why highway matter to people...but when i grow up, i realize that using regular, long road is actually more fun then take a highway. At least there severel place to "pit stop" and the way how everyplace keep changing, make your eye enjoy the view. Highway make going to one place faster but at same time, it feel boring that it easy to fall a sleep and scary at the same time becuase how fast the car are going....

Porsche actually recreated Sally's character using an actual car. It's the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Sally Special. It has custom wheels, Sally Special logos on the interior, Sally's tramp stamp underneath the rear spoiler like in the film, and came with a Sally Special watch.
It was auctioned for £3,000,000, with a portion of that going to charities.

Cars is still my favorite animated movie since 2000. My connection to it only got deeper when I went to college in a town that was bypassed just like Radiator Springs. The old main route through the area turned, curved, rose, and fell. But then a highway was opened in 2009 that bypassed several places on the way to the next big town, which has a big-name university. The only thing keeping that town alive now is the college, and a place that sells outdoor gear.

The history of the Hudson Hornet is highly inspired by real life. They were the Nascar champions between 1951 and 1954, the racing livery is identical to the ones that actually raced. The reason they stopped racing them however is a different story sadly the Hudson Motor Car Company was in bad shape and had to merge with another car company, the racing program was scrapped and not long afterwards the Hudson marque was discontinued.
